  1. The diesel was a rare option on both the Continental and Mark VII in '84-85. There is a diesel '84 Continental on ebay right now..starting bid $1000.
  2. Those diesel Lincolns must be pretty rare...was a BMW engine, I think?
  3. Yeah...but sales have been down the last 3 years across the board...not 2005 numbers..
  4. Congrats!
  5. I've had friends and co-workers explain Toyota purchases as the 'safe' choice, the 'obvious' choice, and a 'no-brainer'..' no doubt word of mouth and Consumer Reports.
  6. Funny thing about Camry demographic....it seems to resonate w/ buyers of all ages...I know plenty of Camry buyers under 40, under 30, some under 25 (that bought new ones over the last decade).
  7. I believe so..as they have been for years...Generica's favorite cars..
  8. Yeah, Palm Springs is pretty nice..love the mid century modern architecture of many of the older homes...but for California, I'd love to live in coastal San Diego County or Orange County...Del Mar, Encinitas, San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano...love those areas... A buddy of mine that used to live in Denver recently moved from San Clemente up north to Arcata....looks very nice from the pics I've seen.
  9. There will probably be a new Camry by then and a new Accord soon after...the game keeps moving forward...
  10. For fall, I'm looking forward to the end of the triple digit highs...looks like it won't be until after Oct 1 until the highers are down to a balmy 99 or less consistently again...woo hoo...
  11. Same here..that concept certainly fit the bill for a '4dr Camaro'...
  12. XTS and Escalade. The Escalade is already ranging up into the $70ks... Besides, if they do a $130k V8 ZTS, there will probably will be a V6 version for $90-100k or so..
  13. Ugh...those angled-toward each other gauges that are appearing everywhere (not sure if it was Audi or Mercedes that started that dumb trend) and teh silly hat on top of the gauges like the LaCrosse...
  14. It will be interesting to see where the next S-class styling goes...the current one has grown on me...though I still like the 5000lb tanks of the '80s-'90s w/ the larger, upright grille...the grilles are too small on the current and previous gen S-class, IMO..
  15. Picked it up this afternoon. Shop couldn't find anything wrong. I think I'll run some fuel injector cleaner through it.
  16. Agreed on that, but it seems like they are committed to a FWD/AWD XTS on Epsy Dos to compete w/ the Lexus ES and Lincoln MKS.
  17. Same w/ Suzuki...Suzuki is invisible in the US market.
  18. And maybe the top-line Zeta-based model will be the ZTS... the XTS gives them a FWD/AWD replacement for the DTS and STS.. Then below the CTS, they will have the ATS...and maybe eventually Spark and Aveo based premium subcompact models.
  19. Find a wrecked G8, get a Sawzall, some plywood, aluminum, and duct tape and make yer own!
  20. $24k and it's not even an LTZ. Interesting..so what's a loaded LTZ run--close to $30k? I guess it's not Wal-Mart pricing anymore for Chevy.
  21. Working w/ banking systems, I don't even think of money in terms of paper money or gold..at work I see it in it's simplest form--just as numerical values--credits and debits--in a general ledger table of a database.
  22. Give them time...what's really going to be interesting is how GM's situation (business, products, sales) looks in 3-5 years.
  23. I've never had a backfire before, but perhaps this was one. I was driving along at about 60-65, A/C, radio on (i.e. noisy inside) and I suddenly felt a shudder through the vehicle and heard a bang..like a rough shift but much stronger. Then the engine died (silently) and I coasted off the freeway...don't think I ran over anything, the road was clear.
