  1. Nothing wrong with that. That's what I want in my next car. RWD, preferably V8. Day in day out, I want the features, safety, and reliability of modern, late model vehicle..don't want to deal with the issues of an old car...whether it's the 50 mile daily commute or a 500-2000 mile road trip. My '87 Mustang is fun as an occasional weekend drive, but I haven't used it as a daily driver in almost 10 years.
  2. Maybe in some markets they can do a 'Pokemon' edition..it kind of looks like some sort of small angry creature.
  3. Cute..the cartoon compresses the G8 so it looks to be the size of a G5.
  4. Oh yeah! Some of my favorite childhood TV memories involve watching Hawaii Five-0, Police Story, Starsky and Hutch, Rockford Files, Streets of San Francisco w/ my Dad...love those big late '60s and '70s Fords and Mercs...and those are the kind of cars my folks drove..Cougars, Marquis, Lincolns, etc. There is a goregous Royal Maroon '69 Marquis convertible here in NoCenPho that I see occasionally..got to be a pretty rare car. Love the lower-longer-wider styling.
  5. Saw a white Chrysler 300C Touring this morning...they look good as a wagon.
  6. Cool... I saw a 2dr Yukon in traffic yesterday, haven't seen one of those in a while. Didn't have barn doors. Was a 2 tone gold and bronze.
  7. I've done it a couple of times in the past..worked for a Canadian-owned company and twice worked for Israeli-owned companies (the Canada-based company was bought by an Israeli-based company then sold to a Fortune 500 US company in the 5 years I was there).. As long as the benefits, salary, etc are good, the work is compelling, and the money ends up in my checking account, it's fine with me..
  8. Sweet... I remember the delays and public rollout back in '07 when I was working for a Boeing subsidiary. Been following the development of this one for years.
  9. Ya, people put port holes/speed holes on everything around here also...often coupled w/ bling wheels.
  10. Ugh. With Hertz, I always get a Ford product except for the time they were out of Mustang convertibles at LAX and I got a Nissan 350Z.
  11. Heh-heh...I go to the airport twice a week here in Phoenix, so I see black Town Cars all the time..limo services. I wouldn't mind having one for my daily driver, actually.
  12. Probably a local Long Island conspiracy outsiders are not supposed to know anything about.
  13. Ya...this summer had only 3 months in a row where the electric bill was over $400..
  14. I've seen oddness w/ edit occasionally... where I have to hit edit a couple times to get it to take, and where it behaves like reply instead. Maybe it a Chrome bug...not sure. Overall, things have worked fine for me w/ IE, Firefox, and Chrome.
  15. It's one of those things that is just the way it is. Maybe because most houses built here don't have basements (concrete slab foundation). Maybe it's a gravity thing.
  16. Maybe someone used their BBQ grill to close to the side of the house to melt the vinyl siding..
  17. Were any of them down by a river?
  18. One memorable event from probably 25 years ago I rememeber from Ohio...one of our German Shepherds came up to the back door, pawing at the door to get my Mom's attention. She had a big dead groundhog in her mouth, covered in green muck from around the lake...standing there, wet, wagging her tail looking happy to give Mom a gift..
  19. Yeah... that's what it is. My sister was horrified; it kind of shattered the 'purse pooch' image. The thing I love about Yorkies is that they are terriers--Ginger has the strong personality and intensity I've seen in other terrier breeds that I'm familiar with (Westies, Aussies, Silkys, Cairns), so not a delicate little docile dog..
  20. Yes, that's similar to my setup...it even has some of the ductwork on the outside of the roof. The ductwork is probably as old as the house (1952) but the A/C unit is less than 5 yrs old.
  21. Dogs are such carnivores...a few months ago my 4 lb Yorkie brought in a baby bird she had apparently killed. Seemed pleased to bring it to me as a gift.
  22. I like wood and brick... I'd really like some rough-hewn stonework, at least on the front of my next house. The cement looks pretty interesting, wasn't aware of such siding.
  23. Given the sustained heat in AZ summers, it's worth every penny. That's apparently the way they built them back in the day..I'll look for a pic.
  24. Many are flat (esp. the stucco adobe style), but all the roofs in my neighborhood are pitched, so the A/C sits near the peak of the roof on it's own little platform.
  25. A/C on the roof is very common in Arizona, at least on houses built up into the '80s. Don't know when it became common to put them on the ground. They are set in place w/ a crane... saw my neighbor's new unit installed last spring, a nice little 3.5 ton capacity model, a bit undersized, IMHO (we have a 5 ton one).
