  1. Sounds like a solid truck..low miles for a '96.
  2. Used Tundra?
  3. I checked my ignore list..it has one, a banned user called 'lance armstrong's testicles'...someone long gone, I think. IIRC, I used to add 68 occasionally when his delusional hysteria got too over the top, but then remove him from the list after a few days.
  4. Just watched Countdown w/ Kieth Oberman on MSNBC..in their 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Passion' segment, they aired a couple funny animated (Sims style animation) videos from Apple Daily News from China.
  5. Imagine if he had been driving a Lexus. I didn't give much weight to him being in an Escalade, since his Buick contract was over.
  6. I wonder if there was an On-Star call after the accident? Latest theory I've heard is he had gotten out of his Escalade after his wife smashed out the windows, leaving it in gear, and it was unoccupied when it went across the road into the fire hydrant and tree (and that his injuries are from when his wife hit him w/ a golf club). Interesting little story. Sounds like Le Tigre is quite the philanderer (or philanthropist).
  7. Good point. He seems to be a 'just the facts' kind of guy, no bias or editorial slant that I can see..
  8. Isn't there a GTD version of the Golf coming also? GTI+TDI=GTD. I think it's on sale in Europe already.
  9. Ahh...finally noticed it. Pale blue 2 pt font on dark blue strip.
  10. Saw an accident w/ two new cars yesterday evening..woman in a black '10 SRX ran a left turn redlight and got broadsided by a dark red '09/10 Dodge Ram 1500 (both still had temporary tags)...the right front door and front end of the SRX was pretty mangled...
  11. Unknown. Is something big happening today? Any more GM announcements expected from the LAIAS?
  12. Chat no worky? [#1090] The chat room has not been properly setup by the administrator (the chat room account number has not been supplied).
  13. I brought up the recent Toyota quality issues, recalls, etc w/ a co-worker recently and he responded that his Toyota was built in Japan and of highest quality and the ones w/ the problems were probably built in the US...ooooohhhkkkkk...
  14. Yes. That is what I was thinking of. That is a truck I'd buy...it reminds me of an old Land Rover pickup.
  15. I'm not so sure Mexico is all that stable, what with their drug wars and government corruption. But they do provide oil and cheap labor for the US.
  16. I'd like to see Jeep do a small truck of some sort, like the Wrangler pickup concept from a couple years ago, or maybe a GC or Commander w/ a box. Something different, for people that don't want the obesity of the Ram or the blandness of the Dakota..
  17. Amarok...an amorous anorak? (Anorak as in the UK subculture). It would be nice to see this here, it's pretty good looking little truck.
  18. I know 3 people that have owned GMT360s...one Trailblazer owner had nothing but problems w/ his '05, traded it on a 4Runner after less than 2 years..another had an Envoy XL, traded it on a Lexus GX after 3 years...another had an '07 TB, traded it on a Tahoe recently...
  19. Of course, the largest sources for foreign in the US? Local-- Canada, Mexico. No one ever mentions that.
  20. <cynical> Because big US oil companies (and the politicos they own) have no economic interest (yet) in leading in biofuels or alternative energy? (No matter how 'green' their adverts make them sound)... </cynical>
  21. Interestingly, doesn't Brazil have the largest ethanol (sugar cane based, IIRC) usage in the world?
  22. I thought lead paint had been banned for years..there are always these news stories about recalls for lead paint for toys made in China..
  23. When I read the headline, I assumed 'Viridian Joule' was the name of the Florida man that won.
  24. Sounds like a variation on the Priceline ads w/ Shatner in the old Dodge van..
  25. That's a pretty scary thought.
