  1. The new Pilot is pretty bland. Almost reminds me of an update of the old Isuzu Trooper/Acura something in profile. The only new SUV/CUV/whatever I'm really interested in is the '11 Grand Cherokee..
  2. Nice..haven't seen one yet in Grabber Blue. So far, I've seen a silver V6 convertible (in PA), dark red GT convertible (in OH), and a black GT coupe and a dark gray GT coupe here in AZ. I snagged a brochure the other day, want to study it and the 'build your own' part of the Ford website.
  3. Besides the ecomomy impacting people buying new cars, I also think that cars are better built and more reliable now more than ever leads to people keeping them longer.. Building better, higher quality, more reliable cars is actually detremental to the automakers...well maintained cars last longer in general today than they did in olden days, rust is less prevalent, and 100k miles is not necessesarily percieved as a huge number of miles.. If cars were crappier, people would change more often. Or maybe this is just my random semi-coherent thoughts on a dull Tuesday..
  4. Yeah, I could never see myself doing the 3 or 5 year cycle...my Dad did the every 3 thing for almost 50 years for a primary car, every 5 years for secondary cars. But after almost 9 years and 99k, my Jeep is still in very good condition. No squeaks and rattles, all the electronics still work, etc. I don't really need to trade it..I figure I'll keep it for winter use and get another daily driver in the next year or so. It's been nice not having a car payment the last 4 years.
  5. It seems I'm on a 10 year cycle for new cars currently. Aug '10 will be the 10 year point, so I will likely buy something by then. Actually thinking of going certified pre owned..my Jeep hit 99k this morning, so I know 100k is not far away.
  6. And the HMMWV is obsolete now (dates back to '84), the US military is working on it's replacement now...HMMWV Replacement
  7. Can't recall the last time I saw an RL...though I see plenty of the new TLs and RSXes, and plenty of newer Accords, CR-Vs, Piolts, Elements, and Highlanders..
  8. Good to see.. the #s for my faves are doing well.
  9. Good riddance. Those turds were nothing but a pointless distraction to GM the last several years.
  10. Nothing wrong w/ the title. Cool on seeing 4 Camaros! I've seen zero so far, and I'm in a large metro area. As far as the car spotter thread, personally I'd like it if we had a pinned, single continuous thread for it, like the Word Association thread. Sometimes, I can never find the car spotter thread for a given month because the titles are different every month. Saw a white '10 Mustang GT at lunch..sharp.
  11. Drove down car dealer row last night, hoping to see a new Camaro. Saw 4 new Nissan Cubes instead.
  12. I used to work with a guy that was such a cheapskate, he would never go to any restaurant where one would normally tip...so going out to lunch usually meant fast food. Said he didn't believe in tipping.
  13. Yeah, got 2 green toilets here..I keep 2 plungers beside each toilet for emergency unclog action, and Mr Plumbr Foaming Liquid Pipe Snake (a couple bottles of that work great for the worst clog). Well, not necessarily 4 every day...but when I eat large, I go large.. or when I eat spicy food, got to go more often..
  14. Not much to say about those little sh*tboxes. Boring FWD meh.
  15. Too much effort. Why would I go out to get something that can be delivered right to my door? Esp. in the summer when the weather outside is disgusting. One of the latest innovations I've seen is one of the chains has a deal w/ TiVo, where you can program in your favorite pizza, payment info, and local store so you can do one click ordering from the TiVo...I may try that.
  16. grubby
  17. twins
  18. Don't recall Stardust...I do remember Guess? and Jordasche (sp?) being popular when I was in high school...
  19. Cool..I just recently picked up a 1:64th scale '55 Star Chief hardtop from M2.
  20. My Papa Johns does that also...but Pizza Hut doesn't... I've had a few of PH 'Naturals' or Wing Street wings delivered this year. Alas, I don't think any of local Chinese places deliver (but one about a mile away does deliver). Now if I had an Indian place that delivered that would rock--a curry vindaloo w/ naan and a Kingfisher, please. We ate pizza yesterday at Sauce, a pretty good chain here and in CO. Had a thin crust pepperoni and mushroom.
  21. Watching 'King Arthur' from '04 this evening..pretty good. Haven't seen it since it came out.
  22. Drunken posting instead of drunken dialing... had 1/2 bottle of Pinot Grigio with some steak & pork loin I grilled...lif e is good (had a few Harps before the vino...back in my 20s, I was notorious for drunken dialing...leaving 'Rob druk' fone messages for friends, ex-girlfriends, professors..even a buddy in Sweden a few timez.. Hot AZ sun ...sitting by pool and drinking away the afternooooon
  23. IIRC, in the '80s, it was IZOD Lacoste...one and the same..
  24. I test drove a 2dr Tahoe (and a Bronco) in 1996 when I was looking for a replacement for my Bronco II...ended up waiting until 2000 to upgrade to the Grand Cherokee..
  25. Interesting..don't think I've ever heard of a Yukon GT.
