  1. And lunch sometimes. Had the 3 basic meat groups today...bacon egg and cheese burrito for breakfast, beef fajita salad for lunch, and a spicy Thai Basil chicken dish for dinner.
  2. Cool..that's a neat looking hotel..nice neighborhood also.
  3. Went out and dipped my feet in the pool.. still not warm enough to jump in..will take a week or two of weather this warm to get the water warm enough. Ultimately, I'd like to spend 6 months (Oct-Apr) here or some place else that's warm in the winter (maybe S. Florida, still a lot there that I like), and the rest of the year in Colorado. Or Colorado year round again. My AZ fling will last a couple years, then I'll be off in search of new horizons.
  4. I've stayed at a Holiday Inn in Studio City (kitchy--it's the Bevery Garland Garden Inn), a Holiday Inn Express at LAX, a Holiday Inn Express on Olympic in the Century City area (not bad), but my favorite place to stay is the Loews Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, walking distance from the pier. Stayed there a couple of times.
  5. No A/C? In So Cal? That's unthinkable. I couldn't imagine living anywhere in the US w/o central air at home and A/C in the car..
  6. Yeah, last year took some getting used to. But at least I'm not in the desert..nice and green w/ palm trees here in the city. I think I'll take a little heat over the disgusting gray, damp, cold winters I lived with in Ohio and Michigan. Moving back to that kind of climate would be a big shock to me.
  7. Today was the first day it really felt hot. Car thermometer said 130 when I started, but after a few min w/ the A/C on, it settled down to 100. Though one TV news channel says it was only 98. Well, 6 months of heat begins. Looking forward to getting in pool soon. Supposed to be 102 tomorrow, then cool down to the 90s for a few days.
  8. The pics on the Pontiac Mexico website shows the rear, doesn't have ribbed lights...besides, Pontiac hasn't used that design cue in years....
  9. Yeah, those Daewoo Matizes lack the Excitement!!! of the Pontiac Matiz G2..
  10. Clever.... a few months ago, my blue (recyclables) rolly bin cracked, had to call for a new one...then more recently, I backed over the green bin... has a couple cracks now, duct taped over..
  11. Well, the tallness of the front is probably for meeting ped safety regs. The Enclave is pretty tall in the front also. It's a decent looking minivan/MPV/whatever.
  12. In Phoenix, I have two big rolly bins that I roll out to the street on Tues (blue bin for recyclables--paper, glass, etc) and Friday (green bin for trash and yard clippings that the yard guys put in on Monday).
  13. Yeah, It would make a great April 1 or Onion article, but is apparently real. I can see it now, greenie ultrathin vegans screaming at obese people---'You are destroying the environment! Get thin or die!!"
  14. This just in: fat is not green. Lose weight to help save the planet. Stop global warming by getting thin. Fun for all. Obesity causes Climate Change
  15. Fonts are cool. I enjoyed the Helvetica documentary. I like Arial.
  16. I'd like to see how it works on dog urine... since I'm always cleaning that up off the tile and hardwood floors. Or oil off of the driveway, from my sister's old Merc that can piss a quart in 15 minutes. (I use kitty litter under that car).
  17. I know people that have put 150-200k on Jettas of that vintage.
  18. Easy. Stutz Bearcat. Stutz Bearcat
  19. Plorchers!
  20. The real question, though, does anyone here have experience w/ ShamWow or Zorbeez? Seems like they would be great if they actually work..
  21. Whenever I hear of Billy, I think of the retired baseball player.
  22. Cash in the Trash.
  23. Maybe they could get MC Hawking to do a voice over..he's totally badazz.. MC Hawking's Crib
