  1. Went out at lunch, saw a black Genesis coupe, 2nd one I've seen.. also saw a flat olive green (like an army vehicle) '05-09 Mustang GT. Strange.
  2. That would be cool...both LA and LV are short, cheap flights from me.
  3. Saw a clean dark red '66 or '67 LeMans or Tempest 2dr on the 10 this morning...had louvers on the rear quarter panel.
  4. They would to lameify it though, to sell it as an Impala--change the engine choice to a pushrod V6 and 4spd automatic so it's closer to the current model. And add a bench seat and column shifter.
  5. This is a press release for today from GM Media Online..got it from their tweet. Says Pontiac will be phased out by end of '10. 34 nameplates in '10, reduction of 29 percent. GM Press Release
  6. Hey...I build things also... it just doesn't have physical form. I sit in a cube or in conference rooms building stuff. Complex stuff.
  7. A subject semi-related to buses that I've long been fascinated by are motorhomes...having grown up taking vacations in motorhomes, I've seen many, many over the years in campgrounds and on the road...from the rounded '60s Travcos, to the classic '60s-70s Winnebagos, to the '70s GMCs to RVs converted from '50s Greyhound Scenicruiser buses, etc. Not a lot of info on the web about them. There were some very cool designs in the '70s-80s that have dissapeared. I really liked the design of '87 Holiday Rambler Imperial 37 footer or the '85 Apollo Sceptre, for example... I probably still have some issues my folks old 'Motor Home Life' magazines somewhere. '85 Apollo Sceptre: '87 Holiday Rambler Imperial: My folks had an '85 Winnebago Chieftain 33 that looked just like this one: This '93 Foretravel Grand Villa is pretty sweet looking, IMHO.
  8. The cost of gas in the US is awfully cheap now the way it is. It's better to build more efficient, less thirsty vehicles... the CAFE ratings haven't been raised in decades, after all. If the average is more efficient, less consumption.
  9. What's odd about the gray & white one I posted is the front definitely looks like other GM 'Old Looks', but the rear does look more like a Flxible..other GM Old Look rear pics I've seen aren't as streamlined.
  10. I've never seen one of these SWB New Looks..
  11. Yeah, or imagine '68 getting another $250 Suburban--trade it in for $5k towards an Aveo?
  12. This '50s Flxble is very streamlined in back:
  13. Check out this one..GM 'Old Look' apparently
  14. I wouldn't want a bus, but for some reason, I wouldn't mind having a '70s vintage stake bed farm truck or dump truck. Like an F600, C60, or IH Loadstar. It would be so badass to park one of these in front of a trend restaurant or Starbucks parking lot.
  15. Those were cool...I just saw an episode of Mythbusters last week where they had one, were testing the 'Speed' movie scene about the 50mph sharp right turn..
  16. Nice weekend here in Phoenix...sunny mid '80s...soon it will be in the 90s, then 3+ months of triple digit fun. I'm looking forward to next weekend, going to be back in Denver for 3 days...got some stuff to do back there, and a couple friends' 40th birthday cookouts/parties next Saturday to attend.
  17. Please, stop it with the stupid right wing delusionary nonsense.
  18. What about Yaris fans, though? Or Scionities?
  19. True enough..I've had my Jeep almost 9 yrs and almost 100k miles (will probably hit that mark this summer, right around the 9th anniversary). Probably won't trade it, but will likely buy another daily driver within two years and keep the Jeep for winter driving.
  20. No, but then again, I couldn't tolerate any FWD appliance for more than a couple days, let alone 5 years. But the mainstream are content with them.
  21. I've read that in Europe the NG Focus is due for MY 11, and most likely will be going back to the 'Escort' name, which is pretty cool. So we will probably see it in MY 12.
  22. That's the point of having a good resale value..drive it 5 years, trade it in... no 'fix up' involved.
  23. Given Toyota's resale values, reliability, and reputation, driving a Corolla is a very intelligent choice for their buyers. Such it is. Dull car, but a sensible choice for millions. It's not what I would buy, but I certainly understand the choice.
  24. Go to My Controls and select 'Change Display Name'. I've thought about changing mine, bored w/ 'Moltar'. I may change it one of my pseudonyms I use in other online communities.
