  1. Well, BPG wouldn't make much sense without P and G. Things are moving very fast, lots of rumours and very little fact in press..will be interesting to see how everything shakes out in a few months.
  2. That's no fun.. those big Mercs are fun to drive, though. I enjoy driving my sister's occasionally.
  3. Interesting...so what's the story on the 500SEL, did 68 'sell' it to DF or something like that? 7-day law, eh? I have no idea what it is in AZ, but in CO, you can use a temporary plate up to 60 days. Another thing..I'm not sure how it works between states and using an old plate, but a guy I used to work w/ in CO bought a Boxster in LA and drove it back a few years ago..he drove around a month or so on the previous owners' CA plates...that seemed odd to me.
  4. Interesting..I think even my 15 yr old Packard Bell PC had the PS/2 style mouse port (i.e. the green or purple round plug in).
  5. The thing that always annoyed me about mouse balls were how the rollers around the ball would get gunked up and make movements awkward. This thread reminds me of a faux-PSA I saw on an episode of Reno 911! about keeping your mouse balls clean.
  6. last 3-- Foo Fighters--The Pretender, Bruce Springsteen -- The Wrestler, Ghostlight Observatory--Sad Sad City
  7. !
  8. Some eclectic music that's new to me that I've discovered today include Otis Taylor (Ten Million Slaves), Gaslight Anthem (The '59 Sound), and Ghostlight Observatory (Sad Sad City)....all pretty interesting and different.
  9. Strewth!
  10. Saw one for a deodorant or body spray that was pretty amusing..guy imagining blasting down the highway on a shopping cart..
  11. Ya, 8 hrs a day sitting in my cube on arse in front of computer, fast or 'quick casual' food for lunch, 1 hr a day driving, 3-4 hrs in the evening watching tv or surfing the web. I am my own worst enemy.
  12. Fascinating stats.. too much fast food, too little exercise, I guess.
  13. I rarely ever see commercials, w/ tiVo, but happened to catch some while catching up on last night's South Park... the Kia Soul ad is clever, with the hamsters. The Burger King Squarebutts ad is trippy (with a cameo by Sir Mix-a-Lot and a reworking of his seminal song, 'Baby Got Back')... saw a strange Cheetos ad also.
  14. Agreed. As an Atheist, I'm sick of the f*cking bible thumpers...
  15. Purely a triumph of marketing... 'professional grade' and a more upscale marketing image for what is essentially the same vehicle. They are less identifical than the were 10 years ago, though some models (Canyon/Colorado, vans) are still just badge-engineered.
  16. Things have definitely changed in my lifetime, for better or for worse.. it's a very different world than it was just 20 years ago, IMHO...
  17. Just calling it as I see it..just not a fan of the South....have no interest in right wingers, social conservatives, etc that tend to dominate in those areas...
  18. That's impressive..I'd like to get that thin again..when I was 18, I was 155lbs, at 28, 185lbs, and now at 38, I'm 235. 6'0". Too sedentary, too much sitting on my duff in front of a computer or the tv. My mountain bike has flat tires. Arggggghhh...
  19. What's 'tapout'? Never heard of it..
  20. 1963 Buick Riviera (another Beautiful Thing from '63, IMHO).
  21. Red states, Bible Belt, etc...
  22. Ya, I hate Texas... I wouldn't miss them one bit, along with the rest of the South (except for S. Florida).
  23. I try and stick to a standard 40 hr work week, M-F 7:30-4:30, since as a contractor I bill by the hour and avoid overtime. This week, I'm working 6:30-3:30 a few days, which is nice because it makes my commute quicker. When I've been a corporate salaried cubicle dweller, I did way too much overtime, too many 50-65 hr weeks. I like to disconnect and avoid thinking about work when I leave the office..working through the weekend and evenings sucks.
  24. It's pretty good...I started reading it about 3 weeks ago, got busy and haven't gotten very far..going to pick it up again this weekend.
  25. Semiconductor manufacturing? I think we still have some of that with Intel and other companies...
