  1. How about G3GXP?
  2. I assume Pontiac is dead also for Canada and Mexico (Pontiac's other markets)? So far, what I've seen says US.
  3. Not to mention BMWs usually have the service for several years bundled into the lease or purchase, so that's a non-issue. I think service may even be included in CPO deals. It's only when they get old and high mileage do BMWs (and Mercs) become money pits, as far as I've observed.
  4. That's why my sig is as it is..
  5. Yeah, must be one of the perks of having the C&G Black Card..
  6. I decided to change from 'Moltar' which I was bored with, to 'Cubical'. Thought about 'Qubikal' also. Cubical is a handle I've used in other contexts, and also is part of my hip-hop stage name, DJ Cubical.
  7. Probably cars.com. They meant Aura, and the Passat makes sense as a competitor, along with the Milan, Avalon, and Azera, possibly the ES350?
  8. Ya, one of my best friends as a child was a farmer's son (now runs the family farm himself) and they had a couple red w/ white roof mid '70s Ford F700s stake trucks, a large red & white IH Semi grain hauler, and always red w/ white top Ford LTDs and F250 pickups. Red and white was their farm color motif. And a neighbor that used to deliver gravel for our driveway had a late '60s IH Paystar dump truck, also red. Old stake bed trucks and dump trucks give me warm fuzzies for childhood in Eastern Ohio..
  9. Isn't Holden going to be building GMDAT FWD generic sh*t soon?
  10. Now more than ever it is time for Pingas. Pingas is emblematic of the randomness and meaninglessness of these times. I was thinking about posting something Pingas in the 'Pontiac is Dead' thread earlier to lighten up the grimness.
  11. Went out at lunch, saw a black Genesis coupe, 2nd one I've seen.. also saw a flat olive green (like an army vehicle) '05-09 Mustang GT. Strange.
  12. That would be cool...both LA and LV are short, cheap flights from me.
  13. Saw a clean dark red '66 or '67 LeMans or Tempest 2dr on the 10 this morning...had louvers on the rear quarter panel.
  14. They would to lameify it though, to sell it as an Impala--change the engine choice to a pushrod V6 and 4spd automatic so it's closer to the current model. And add a bench seat and column shifter.
  15. This is a press release for today from GM Media Online..got it from their tweet. Says Pontiac will be phased out by end of '10. 34 nameplates in '10, reduction of 29 percent. GM Press Release
  16. Hey...I build things also... it just doesn't have physical form. I sit in a cube or in conference rooms building stuff. Complex stuff.
  17. A subject semi-related to buses that I've long been fascinated by are motorhomes...having grown up taking vacations in motorhomes, I've seen many, many over the years in campgrounds and on the road...from the rounded '60s Travcos, to the classic '60s-70s Winnebagos, to the '70s GMCs to RVs converted from '50s Greyhound Scenicruiser buses, etc. Not a lot of info on the web about them. There were some very cool designs in the '70s-80s that have dissapeared. I really liked the design of '87 Holiday Rambler Imperial 37 footer or the '85 Apollo Sceptre, for example... I probably still have some issues my folks old 'Motor Home Life' magazines somewhere. '85 Apollo Sceptre: '87 Holiday Rambler Imperial: My folks had an '85 Winnebago Chieftain 33 that looked just like this one: This '93 Foretravel Grand Villa is pretty sweet looking, IMHO.
  18. The cost of gas in the US is awfully cheap now the way it is. It's better to build more efficient, less thirsty vehicles... the CAFE ratings haven't been raised in decades, after all. If the average is more efficient, less consumption.
  19. What's odd about the gray & white one I posted is the front definitely looks like other GM 'Old Looks', but the rear does look more like a Flxible..other GM Old Look rear pics I've seen aren't as streamlined.
  20. I've never seen one of these SWB New Looks..
  21. Yeah, or imagine '68 getting another $250 Suburban--trade it in for $5k towards an Aveo?
  22. This '50s Flxble is very streamlined in back:
  23. Check out this one..GM 'Old Look' apparently
  24. I wouldn't want a bus, but for some reason, I wouldn't mind having a '70s vintage stake bed farm truck or dump truck. Like an F600, C60, or IH Loadstar. It would be so badass to park one of these in front of a trend restaurant or Starbucks parking lot.
