  1. Whoa..that is some trippy sh*t...WTF is it???
  2. tyre
  3. eccos (Danish shoe brand that I like)
  4. I remember something that happened in the '80s, about the time the first S10 came out, GM had a stockpile of unsold LUV pickups...I think they ended up crushing them..
  5. Well, the Cruze will be the bread-and-butter mass market compact while the Astra will be a bit upmarket from it, different styling, more bodystyles and content, I presume.
  6. Front end looks like the Traverse...lots of plastic
  7. I had a neat little minature tree a few years ago---it was internally lighted--blue and silver instead of green. Kind of neat, it would flash on and off in a pattern.
  8. Saw two 60s Pontiacs on the way to work today--a plum/white '66 Catalina and a white '69 Catalina, both 4dr hts w/o hubcaps (black steel wheels). The '66 was very clean, looks like a resto in progress (missing some side trim), the '69, a bit tattered.
  9. Detroit News article from today.. Detroit News
  10. I wonder what the record is for time between posts on threads (i.e. when they went dormant and when they were revived).

  12. Who knows...I could see the Insignia possibly as a G6, but wasn't it supposed to be an Aura? Hopefully, they will keep a G6 coupe...since it's the only Epsilon coupe GM has.
  13. I think the current generation (W221) has improved a lot..the '00-06 (W220) generation had a LOT of problems, not as solid and vault like as the older W126 and W140 generations. Mercedes tried to cheapen their cars (I've read they started building to cost rather than no expenses spared engineering in the mid to late '90s, and it hurt them). A friend of mine's Dad had an '00 S class, lots of problems...replaced it with an '04 BMW 7-series--lots of problems (iDrive, etc). He drives an '07 STS now. Went to PetSmart last night for dog food, etc and parted nose-to-nose with a new (W221) S-class...my old W140 is so much taller in the front, the big square grille compared to sleek low nose of the new one..interesting how the design evolved over the generations.
  14. Wow...dual quad 4drs, 4drs w/ 4 speeds. Cool.
  15. Yeah, '59-60s are wild...over-the-top in fins and chrome. I can appreciate them for their audacity and detailing. I love the clean, restrained '61s..the Pontiacs, the Buicks, the Oldses and Cadillacs w/ their skegs, the Chevys...those goregous B-body bubbletop hardtops...the C-body 4dr hts w/ the wrap around rear windows. The '58s don't appeal to me at all, but the '61-72 GMs--esp. the bigger cars--B,C,E---are amongst my very favorite vintage cars.
  16. There are so many '60s-70s GMs I'd love to have. (not to mention the Fords and Mopies). Top of my list would be a '71 Riviera, followed by a '71-72 Impala Sport Coupe. '66 Toronado. '67-68 Eldorado. '62-64 Grand Prix. '69-72 Grand Prix. '68-70 GTO. '66-67 Riviera. '63-65 Riviera. '66-66 Impala 2dr ht. '66-68 Caprice 2dr. 65-66 Coupe de Ville. '63-66 Wildcat. '62-65 Starfire. '71 Centurion convertible. etc etc etc. So many from that era that I love.
  17. Saw a few interesting cars today. First was a bathtub Hudson--48-49 I think, black. What a radical design for it's time. Amazing to see a 60 yr old car out in traffic. Beautiful condition. Saw a primer black w/ red steel wheels '60 Caddy Coupe de Ville (or Series 62 ht) at a car wash. Massive. Saw a derelict '76-77 Cutlass Supreme coupe in a driveway, white w/ gray hood & rt ft fender, flat tires. Saw a blue w/ black top '74 Malibu 2dr parked behind a gas station, no plates. Lastly, a couple of '80s B-bodies--an '80 or so Caprice coupe, with a later composite headlight ('87-90) front end. It was a red-orange color I remember from '80. The other was an '86 Caprice Classic 4dr, very clean, two tone gray.
  18. I'm partial to the '69 since I own one, like the 4 headlight front better than the '70 front. But the '70s are great--I'd love to have a '70 Mach 1. Never cared for the '71-73 Mustangs, in fastback form they looked huge. I like the '67-68 Mustangs also. I like the Camaros and Firebirds from '67-73 also, and '74-75 Firebirds..Pontiac handled the larger bumpers better than Chevy did, IMHO. About the only year of the Firebird I didn't really like was the '69, preferred the '67-68 grille I suppose.

I still watch NHL, following the Avalanche...I try and catch an NFL game occasionally, esp. the Broncos and Steelers. I don't really enjoy baseball on tv, but I enjoy going to games (Rockies or Diamondbacks). Went to a lot of Rockies games '02-07.
  20. I did artificial trees back when I did decorate for xmas. Since I'm always away from home for the holiday now, I never decorate anymore.
  21. I have to find the pic...somewhere I have one of my Mom (5'0", petite blond) with her massive '58 Mercury Monterey 4dr, back in '58. And one of her w/ me circa 1973 w/ the '69 Mustang.
  22. IIRC, the Chevy color you are thinking of is Evening Orchid. Revell used that color on the box art for their '65 Impala kit back in the '90s.
  23. Looks coldly beautiful. One thing I do like about the desert here, the sunsets are spectacular (no doubt partly due to the all the smog in the valley).
  24. I love the '67-68s...grew up around 3 of 'em. My Mom has a '67 (289), '68 (302) and a '68 XR-7 (390) that she and my Dad bought back in the '60s-70s. 2 were restored back in the '80s, but the '68 302 (3spd manual, manual brakes, manual steering!) is all original w/ 65k miles.
  25. A RWD sedan that competes w/ the Genesis could do well for Buick. With FWD sedans, they can target the MKZ and MKS...
