  1. Continuing the post-rock electronica vibe w/ Mogwai (Mr Beast) and Goldfrapp...
  2. I read that article the other day..got homesick from the pics. I've driven the paved roads from Lake City to Telluride--via Ouray and Durango. Beautiful area...I've been of a few of the off road trails in that part of the state.
  3. I think Chevy did contemplate one...there was a cover article on Motor Trend a couple years ago about a possible Chevy 'Sting Ray'. Never came to be.
  4. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place by Explosions in the Sky and Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts by M83. In a mellow chill out atmospheric post-rock mood this morning on a cold, gray rainy day...
  5. 6:30 this morning. Dark, cold and rainy at Einstein's Bagels. Saw 3 eclectic cars--2 from the past, one from the future--- a Volvo P1800 wagon, dark colour, a light blue '81-83 Chrysler Imperial in good shape, and the first I've seen in the wild---a gray GT-R!! Very menacing and brutal looking, with huge titanium coloured wheels.
  6. Colitis (as an occasional IBS sufferer, I call it Mad Bowel Syndrome...Immodium is my friend)
  7. My friends' car was kind of greenish blue, w/ a matching cloth interior..bench seat IIRC. They had it and a '91 Grand Am 2dr, they bought them together when they graduated from college, after getting married..their first new cars. Kept both for 10 years, well over 100k on each. Alas, neither of them have GMs anymore---they have an '05 Volvo XC wagon and a '07 BMW 535Xi wagon now... (since they have 2 dogs but no kids, they need 2 wagons, I guess).
  8. Has that been a one owner car?
  9. Yes, and as history has shown time and again, the best sellers aren't always the best cars in their classes. C'est la vie.
  10. Ya, but alas, ultimately, it's the sales that count. It's a vanilla generic, but that's what the American public likes.
  11. Congrats! Still looks sharp. Some friends put about 140k miles on a '91 2dr before they traded it on a Volvo 850 wagon back in '02.
  12. Yeah, if they stay on the 6 yr cycle, a 4th gen is due for '11. I've been really happy w/ my 2nd gen, haven't liked the interior of the 3rd gen models.
  13. I drove 6 winters in NE Ohio from '88-94 w/ RWD exclusively, an '86 LX Mustang and an '83 Caprice... I ran snow tires all the away around and a few bags of QuikCrete mix in the trunk for ballast. Got around pretty well. After moving to Michigan in '94, I got my first 4x4 SUV (Bronco II) and have had an SUV since then.
  14. With the next SRX going to a generic FWD platform, the only ones in that group I'd seriously look at would be the BMW and Merc.... if I were paying $50k for a luxury SUV, it would have to be RWD/AWD. Leave FWD for the cheap mainstream stuff...
  15. Meh..the article is from May '07. I don't think any of those vehicles have changed much since then, other than the Touareg which had a mild update (new headlights, other trivial changes). The findings are still relevant. C&D Comparo
  16. That '59 wagon is cool...here's a Buick wagon that I would mind having as a toy--'71 Estate wagon w/ the Buick road wheels.
  17. The Camry has gone through two redesigns since then, though. I would think they would have updated it since then (but since it's just a generic FWD platform, I'm not sure what they could 'update'...)
  18. Does anyone really know that? Or is it based on the current Highlander? Or does anyone but the most rabid Toyota fan really care?
  19. I just google the subject and copy the URL of interesting ones I find... the '67 Catalina 2+2 pic I have currently is an original GM pic, I think (I've seen it elsewhere, in magazines). About the Buick road wheels, Balthy can answer definitively, but they definitely had a long run...I think they started around '63-64 as a Wildcat optional wheel and ran into the '80s w/ the last of the RWD LeSabres and Electras ... I think the '80s Regal may have used them some also. I've always liked that style of wheel.
  20. I had seen pics of the exterior before, first interior pics I've seen..that centre stack is bold.
  21. Beautiful car...yellow w/ black interior works so well on many '60s GM cars, I think.
  22. Dunno....air shocks, maybe? At least it has enough clearance for driveways and curbs..
  23. That pickup is sweet!
  24. I saw a really nice '57 stepside in lt blue the other day. There are a few old trucks I like, if I ever had one as a hobby vehicle, I think a '73-80 Chevy stepside would be my choice.
