  1. Well, they are the 'B' in BRIC...their economy has been growing fast, and they've really got the ethanol thing working well from what I've read. BRIC
  2. Ahh, yes...alas, I haven't sketched cars since college probably... something I should try again.
  3. I can't remember the last time I used one...many years ago...I use pens when I have to write something not on a computer or phone.
  4. People still use pencils?
  5. How about a ZR1 engine and AWD ?
  6. I wonder when Florida and Ohio last went Democratic in the elections...except for Illinois and Michigan, I think all the states I've lived in the last 38 years have gone Red in the elections when I've lived there..
  7. Really? Interesting....GMC sells a fraction of what Chevy does in the US, I think.
  8. Yes. and also V-series, SS, and GXP badges.
  9. Don't forget to replace the wipers, rotate the tires, vacuum the mats, and replace the air freshener..
  10. Isn't the Vue a rebadged Opel Antara? Same platform as the Captiva, but different body, interior, etc.
  11. Saw a car hauler today with 3 H3Ts on top, 3 G8s inside... saw a gorgeous, rumbling black '71 Centurion convertible oozing down the street last night right around sunset, top down. Droooooll....
  12. I'd like to do that..I've driven the stretch from Florida City to Key West several times over the last 20+ years, most recently, this past July in a Chrysler Sebring convertible. Hwy 1/101 on the West Coast is on my to-do list also...I've driven pieces of it (in So. Cal, Nor Cal, and Oregon).
  13. humidity
  14. Maybe the old piston rings were soft? Needed harder ones for unleaded gas? Not sure why they would 'rebore' a cam shaft, though
  15. Sounds great to me... one of my dream oldies would a '71 LTD convertible...
  16. I have a friend in Colorado that's kind of at similar extremes, at least as far as gas mileage--he has a Prius for his 80 round trip mile commute, a Subaru Outback for the family car, and his new 40th birthday midlife crisis toy is a new black Challenger SRT8..saw it Friday, a pretty sweet car. Another friend (in Oakland, Ca) has a Prius for his daily driver and a '73 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon w/ a 460 for his weekend toy. Speaking of Eldos, I was driving to the airport in Denver yesterday and saw a white '73 Eldo convertible w/ the top down on the airport road...pretty sweet.
  17. midnight
  18. I bet it will be closer to $40k...
  19. Nice..saw an unrestored white w/ black vinyl top '73 or '74 Challenger today w/a patina of age..solid and straight, dull paint. It really stood out amongst the Accords, Camrys, and other generica of modern urban traffic.
  20. The next 2 weeks are going to be a wild ride, I think... I was back home in Colorado this weekend, talked w/ a lot of friends...it's pretty much neck and neck there...the amount of ads on TV are unreal..
  21. Palm Springs
  22. Speaking of old Mopies, there is a blue w/ black top '69-70 Chrysler 300 4dr ht I see on my daily commute...sitting in an alley beside a house on a busy, major street...looks like paint is faded, no idea if it's in running order..
  23. Today while walking at lunch, I saw 2 Challengers--a white w/ black top 73-74 in decent shape and an orange '08/09 SRT8...nice to see some real, RWD V8 cars amongst all the disposable FWD generics that one usually sees on a typical city street.
  24. That was good to see... I've long resepected him, he's always seemed to be a moderate. It's another sign that the neocon BS that the Republican party is dominated by is running out of gas.
  25. Yeah, not many...I've seen a few Chrysler Neons, 300s, and Sebring convertibles in Europe over the last few years...a lot of Jeeps, though...the old style XJ Cherokees, the Liberty (aka Cherokee), Wranglers, and a lot of Grand Cherokee Limiteds.
