  1. Woo hoo!! I scored an original, built, complete, restorable AMT '59 Buick on ebay tonite... I have the AMT/SMP '59 Chevy Impala ht & conv '59 Pontiac Bonneville ht & conv kits and the Johan '59 Olds 4dr ht, but no Buicks.
  2. Well, BMW is RWD and driver focused...that alone gives it premium status. GM has too many overlapping FWD models.
  3. The article and thread were about the US market...so what if BMW sells cars outside the US w/o A/C? Irrelevant..
  4. That has to be a PFA...in the US I would expect BMWs to be 100% with A/C.... I'm amazed there are still any cars sold in the US w/o A/C...
  5. Yeah, it would seem very strange to see the Saleen or Roush brand on a Chevy, since they are historically Ford tuners... it would be neat to see a revival of the vintage Chevy tuner names like Yenko or Baldwin-Motion..
  6. Or the bronze '71 that a neighbor had when I was a kid in Ohio...I love the sculptured bodywork of that style.
  7. Nothing wrong with looking at things like that..with work, I set my expectations extremely low, so if something meaningful really happens, them I'm pleasantly surprised..
  8. This was an inevitable choice...if they had not picked Toyota, imagine the uproar amongst their readers..
  9. I try and convince my peers (30 something professionals) that GM makes lust worthy cars, but when a buddy asked if the CTS comes with an AARP card, I felt like giving up.. Pretty much everyone I know in my demographic group drives Japanese or German, with a few American SUV owners (mostly Jeep) mixed in.... The youngin's I know (<30) drive Eclipses, Golfs/Jettas, Civics, and Corollas...
  10. Saw the battered '64 Buick Special 2dr sedan again this morning... gold w/ white roof, dents, rust, classic car plate. Someone commutes to my office in it, I see it a couple times a week.
  11. I wonder if these are legit 'scientists' or just some right-wing nutjobs..
  12. The Malibu and Accord are good mass market appliances, but I wouldn't compare to premium cars from Audi or BMW...
  13. Sad end to a once proud name....alas, it's been over 20 years since they were really nice.
  14. 7 foot, 350 lbs? You a linebacker?
  15. Borger/PCS is a troublemaker...best to just ignore his taunts. He said he was going away because his employer (which he claims is GM) wanted him to, then he pops up again a few days later. Who knows what his agenda is, but he seems to enjoy stirring up trouble here...
  16. I assume because the SRX is going bye-bye when the BRX comes out?
  17. The Pretender--Foo Fighters (saw them in concert last night in Phoenix, they rock!)
  18. Ah...cool. We need a glossary for all the TLAs around here.
  19. I wonder if they are saving the stick for a GXP version?
  20. I have no idea..must be yet another secret insider code that some people like throwing around.
  21. Truck roofs are particularly weak, I've seen countless rolled over pickups with the roof mashed flat down to the bottom of the side windows...the weight and weak pillars are probably to blame.. since trucks aren't unibody, there is no crash structure there...just a collapsible metal body on top of a heavy frame.
  22. There's a white '73 4dr Montego around here in good shape that I see once in a while.
  23. Remember the 'G' in GM is for 'General', as in 'generic', mass audience appliances...that's where the biggest market is...

    NIN likers

When I think of NIN, I think of the winter of 1994-1995, the endless gray of Michigan, and the endless dispair my life was then (the hell of PhD life). 'The Downward Spiral' was perfect for that period in my life.
