  1. The odds of someone building a time machine so 68 can go back to 1931 and drive a Caddy V16 are probably higher.
  2. It appears to me that the future Cadillac strategy isn't necessarily to take on the big boys model-for-model across the line (to have a Cadillac full line comparable to Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus would be a massive investment), but to try and compete effectively in specific niches for specific markets...so maybe the large V8 luxury sedan (S-class, 7-series, etc), for example, is not a Cadillac target.
  3. Well, it's obvious that a public that is used to buying Accords, Civics, Camrys, and Corollas are going to choose Toyotas and Hondas when they go to buy a compact SUV...why would they look else where if they've been happy with their Toyota and Honda cars? Such is reality.
  4. I think the mid '80s Eldorado convertibles would hold some value...and maybe the '92-96 Fleetwood Broughams (last of the BOF land yachts).
  5. I still don't get why full-size truck sales are so high.... they can't all be commercial sales...and there aren't that many farmers, ranchers, etc. I'm just amazed how many people buy these beasts.
  6. Big deal...we all know you would never buy a new car...stay with your 25+ yr old ones and give the rants a rest, ok?
  7. Not this one...the article about the discontinuation of the NS replacement was posted, but not anything about the NS being dropped as this one claims.
  8. The 6.2 is OHV...there is no 6.2 DOHC from GM.
  9. They haven't done anything to update the Northstar in quite a while, though... and who says DI and VVT is going to happen for the Northstar?
  10. You're being a little overly melodramatic, aren't you? It's just a car...not the end of the world..
  11. Since college, I've always dated older...my ex- fiancee was 4 years older... my g/fs since then have been older, from 1 year to 6... my current on-again/off-again g/f is 41, I'm 37.. My parents were 10 years apart (mom was 40 when I was born, dad was 50). My family has an odd thing with birthdates---mine is 6/28, mom's is 1/28, dad's was 10/29, and my sister's is 7/29. My brother is the odd one, 8/21.
  12. Sounds like they don't intend for Cadillac to play in the big leagues beyond the CTS..
  13. Whatever...Hummer and Saab are GM brands, just like Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Opel, etc... whether they are old-time GM 'divisions' or 'subsidiaries' is a trivial distinction in the real world..
  14. The interior doesn't look bad, looks better than the ugly 4th gen interior, IMHO..and remember this a test mule, not a production version..
  15. Hummer and Saab weren't mentioned either...Pontiac was probably mentioned, but PCS edited it out before posting here..
  16. I'd take the Mocha bronze w/ the brown leather like the Enclave..
  17. Looking at the pic of the black Commodore I realized that if it had chrome window trim, it would look a lot like an '08 Accord..
  18. Autoweek has an article on this... Autoweek Article about NG NS V8 cancellation Seems like a mistake for Cadillac, since the other premium brands (BMW, M-B, Audi, Lexus, etc) will still be offering DOHC V8s for the forseeable future..
  19. The Impala will take the GPs place in fleets..the GP was 77% fleet in '06, I think..
  20. Yes, Honda is quite diverse... generators, lawn mowers, ATVs, boat engines, hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, family sedans, compact cars, subcompact cars, near-lux sedans, minivans, crossovers, pickups, etc...a little bit of everything.
  21. How about a Chia edition Kia? Water it and grow grass-like turf on the hood, roof, decklid..
  22. I'm sure if PCS gets his way, 'what's next' is that Chevy NA will be much the same as Chevy Europe--generic Korean FWD models.
  23. Ok...so those 3 are going to stay FWD Avis models? Boooring.
  24. Here's a bunch of Inspire pics...looks much the same as the US Accord, with some taillight differences, front fascia differences, more wood/plood inside.. 2008 Honda Inspire
  25. Hmmm..you in Asia?
