  1. Since GM hasn't announced anything official yet one way or the other for the Impala, I say wait and see...who knows what they are going to do?
  2. I guess Britney and K-Fed prove that even if poor white trash get rich, they are still trash...
  3. Good point...I could never see buying a Sebring or Avenger over a Malibu or Accord. The FWD family sedan is not a type of car I'd ever see myself buying, though.
  4. True...with the Crown Vic going to fleet only for '08, it's not like there is a huge market demanding cheap RWD full sizers...it's not 1970, after all. Pontiac will have the Charger market covered with the G8... I think GM does need a mainstream luxury sedan to compete with the 300, maybe from Buick? Cadillac has the premium market covered with the CTS/etc..
  5. True...like so many GMs, the Impala is a decent Avis rental, but nothing memorable...
  6. How are you coming up with these 'was' and 'now' figures for out of production cars??? The new EPA mileage estimates only apply to new cars, don't they?
  7. Yeah...Avis won't care how long they keep the W coming..
  8. One positive thing about the midsize Mopar interiors, even though their interiors are ugly w/ cheap gray plastic, at least they offer optional NAV systems..
  9. Subaru has the AWD wagon market covered with the Outback, though.. it looks like the Forester is still just a tall wagon, nothing 'SUV' about it.
  10. I couldn't imagine not having A/C. Or power windows. Or heated seats. Or a 6-disc CD changer. I've gotten used to driving loaded cars and couldn't imagine driving something stripped down.
  11. Or at least a new Camry!
  12. Camry! Camry! Camry!
  13. Meh...just another boring generic... it's amazing how many car buyers want generics, though.
  14. Yawn..more boring generic transportation modules.
  15. Oh well, time to trade the 500 on an Avalon..
  16. True, but Texans elected W governor..so they deserve a lot of blame..
  17. One factoid I discovered is that there is an Isuzu-badged version of the Topkick/Kodak called the H-series.

Meh..I'd rather have an Enclave w/ factory 19s... that would be a bit more coin, but an 81 yr old car wouldn't work for the H-Cube.
  19. I've never had a need for a nav system, I'm quite good at reading maps..even in rental cars in unfamiliar areas, I find my way around. And as amazing as it sounds to the kiddies here, I drove in the '80s in RWD cars in the WINTER with snow tires without airbags or ABS and survived!!!
  20. Hmmm....I bet some of the leaders of this effort will end up in Guantanamo soon. Heh-heh, but seriously, if California would get serious about seccession, I'd move there in a heartbeat.... get away from the red state loonies.
  21. Yes, but Toyotas and Hondas are still just mass-market, mainstream brands. A key aspect of yuppidom is the conspicious consumption of premium branded merchandise...
  22. True, not much different than driving any other midsize SUV...I couldn't drive the H3 because of the ugly exterior and ugly interior... the mileage is no worse than my Grand Cherokee, it sounds like. The Hummer brand has such a 'poser' image, though (compared to other SUV brands).
  23. The i30 is the Hyundai version of the Kia Ceed, from what I've read in the British mags.
  24. Twice this week in my morning commute I've seen a gray 4dr '64 Dodge (Polara?)...pretty sure it's a 64, judging by the grille....strange to see a 40+ yr old car in modern traffic... ..and on the way home tonight, saw a lt. blue early '60s Studebaker Lark 4dr in traffic.
  25. I think 'FOG' has confused 'yuppie' with 'mainstream'..... mainstream car buyers buy Toyota, Nissan, Hondas... Yuppies buy premium brands--Audi, BMW, Lexus, etc.
