  1. Agreed...I've driven the 1st gen CTS and STS, and they are pretty tight..
  2. The things I always search for---truth and meaning in an insane world. I know I'll never find them, but I keep on searching.. But seriously, I don't need anything for xmas.... my sister was hinting at getting me a subscription to a wine-of-the-month club, which could be fun. I'd take a Fender Telecaster, though (she has one, still learning to play it). From my mom and brother, I'll probably get DVDs.. (my brother one year got me a best of Ohio State football DVD, to rub it in since I went to Michigan and he went to Ohio State).
  3. G8 SportUte. or G8 SportBed. or G8 SUT ?
  4. ???? You're loosing it, dude...calm down. I think the complaint in this thread was the opposite...Carbiz was bemoaning that the CTS wasn't a soft, floaty old-style Cadillac. I don't think anyone in this thread said or implied the CTS was too soft. Screw Gen Y, the CTS is aimed at buyers like me...Gen Xers in their 30s that can afford $40k cars..
  5. There is definitely a market for both, though the older style soft luxury car market is shrinking, I think, compared to the performance-oriented luxury (BMW style) market. Personally, I like both types of cars for different reasons..I love the Town Car for it's old school luxo land yacht ways, but I love BMWs (and the CTS) for their style and performance...
  6. It's not a soft and squishy old style Cadillac for old people (the DTS still caters to that demographic)....it's a modern performance/luxury sports sedan...
  7. I think so...the interior looks great and the equipment list is impressive.... I think the CTS is a nice mix of sports sedan and luxury car...
  8. The Sony Cybershot is pretty nice... I'm on my second one now. I had a 2.3 MP one for years.
  9. Hardly...they may overlap in price, but are in different classes (the BMW being a premium brand, Pontiac being mainstream). Apples and oranges...
  10. cross roads
  11. I'm sure once the G8 is on sale people will be ordering parts from OZ (or Aussie ebaY) and retrofitting their cars....it would be cool to replace the Pontiac emblems with Holden ones as well..
  12. Yes, and I'm sure American fishing/whaling companies do as bad or worse..
  13. Interesting...I didn't realize the GMC brand existed outside of NA.
  14. I have no idea what's in TPs around here (probably pickups)...let alone where the TPs are...they have scary people in them, I think.
  15. Yes, and So Cal is and has been for decades THE car culture capital of the US.. I don't see this being a big deal, it's kind of a public nuisance law, like fining morons that blast their lame rap music too loudly out of their cars. Squeeling the tires, doing burnouts, etc on public streets is immature and unprofessional, after all..
  16. That's a sweet wagon..very sleek.
  17. That's one thing I noticed in the pics of the MKS...the fenders and hood seem to be pretty high off the ground and they meet the A-pillar pretty high...
  18. Most excellent!!!
  19. It's just hard for me to believe Hyundai is going to be building RWD models....I've long viewed Hyundai and Kia as purveyors of cheap 'n nasty FWD generic transportation modules...this is quite a change.
  20. Very cool photography...reminds me of some of the more dramatic pics I've seen in Top Gear and Evo. Sweet car, also.

    HaHaHa?

A vacation day (I'm taking the whole week off) at the end of December..that's all it is to me. I enjoyed the traditions as a kid (gifts, trees, cookies, family get together, etc) but couldn't care less now. I'm just looking forward to some fun in the sun that week...
  22. It's a low volume halo car for the brand..better than the generic FWD rentals Pontiac has now...isn't Pontiac supposed to be about 'Excitement'? A RWD V8 sports sedan certainly provides that..
  23. Old news...it's been that way for a long time, hasn't it?..what some refer to as 'divisions' are more accurately 'brands'...
  24. Those numbers are pretty weak for all of them...they really should offer these B-segment subcompacts with diesels...then they would get really good mileage.
  25. If I were really hung up on gas prices or had a really long commute, I wouldn't mind having a diesel again...my old Escort got over 50 mpg on the highway and over 45 around town.
