  1. It will be interesting to see how it compares against the Highlander hybrid and Escape hybrid..
  2. Yes, but it was certainly nicer and more modern than the lousy W-body Pontiac has..
  3. I take a rational, scientific atheist view of things...when you are alive, you live, when you die, your are dead. No afterlife. Without proof of the existence of anything after death, I really can't believe in anything after death, so enjoy life while you are here...so I focus my effort on the here and now, and future..when I die, it's all gone..
  4. Probably on the right quarter panel... I noticed the lights on the camoed car..it's probably got some other headlights than production (i.e. cobbled together mule).
  5. Ah, just a little FWD econobox...I don't know how one could get too exited about such vehicles..
  6. I've heard this guy....this flight attendant is on Southwest...he was on a flight I took from DEN->PHX before Thanksgiving..
  7. Hmmm...a bunch of kiddies talking about Civic Sis? That's pretty lame...
  8. The reddish burl/walnut plood reminds me of some Sauder kit furniture I used to have...
  9. As PCS has hinted at, I suspect the secret strategy for forming the Pontiac-Buick-GMC structure is so it can become Buick-GMC eventually if it has to...
  10. Yes, adding the usual features expected of a modern vehicle results in bringing the weight up relative to a similar vehicle from 20 years ago...taking the weight out w/o removing content is expensive.
  11. I still see plenty of indifference towards US brands...I mentioned to a colleague about how GM was on the comeback with products new Malibu and CTS and he remarked 'GM? Don't they just make rental cars?'...the sad part is I think he was serious..
  12. From my experience and that of friends, BMWs are great as certified preowned purchases...too pricey new.
  13. I don't get the 'Civic' comparison..the 1-series or 3-series is a hell of alot more car than a generic Civic..
  14. Wow...almost 23k in options...the single biggest one on there is a $5200 wheel (and tire?) set..ridiculous. $400 for an iPod and USB adapter? Should be standard.. Some of the options are nonsense-- $780 for 'illuminated door sills' and $2400 for 'active cruise control'. BMWs have long been spendy with the options, though..
  15. Hmmm..the first use of the Northstar was the '93 Allante, around 15 years ago, not 20.
  16. Sounds like it's a done deal it this point..what will be, will be. Those all hot about a RWD Impala may as well move on and hunt down an oldie.
  17. That's sweet... I don't have one of the 1:18th ones yet, but I have several of the 1:64th Hot Wheels and Greenlight ones (they make hts and convertibles) and the AMT and Revell 1:25th model kits.. neat stuff.
  18. Not as much as the Impala, I bet..
  19. The Who-Endless Wire
  20. He'd probably have something more useful than the Repubs, who are beholden to big oil interests..
  21. What would Al Gore say?
  22. Well, Cadillac does have a few competitive models--the '08 CTS is excellent, the SRX is good, the XLR...
  23. Here's an insane idea--maybe they can come up with the next big Caddy cheaply by putting a 4dr sedan body on the Escalade platform....68 would be ecstatic...
  24. It's been 32 years since the CAFE standards were last adjusted, right? And it's 12 years until the new regs are fully in place...yet to many people here, the sky is falling! It's the end of the world! YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. What an irrational bunch.
  25. The odds of someone building a time machine so 68 can go back to 1931 and drive a Caddy V16 are probably higher.
