  1. Gah! The Tacoma was at least mildly attractive in the last iteration. Now it looks like it has a thyroid condition! I wonder if I can order one with "folding frame delete"
  2. Don't at all judge an electric by it's top horsepower number. First SMK, the horsepower number you quoted for the Volt is when the car is set to standard Eco mode. Switch it to sport and you've got yourself 220hp. Second, no ICE of equal horsepower out there can beat the torque curve of an electric. As far as off the line performance is concerned, electrics have max torque at zero RPM. At a standstill, it is the torque that gets you going. So even if the ELR comes out with a 220hp default version of the Volt drive train, some gearing tweaks will make it a very competent performer around town and up to max U.S. speeds.
  3. I don't think you will regret your choice Ocn.... and you will be even more well protected in case of another accident.
  4. One thing that bugs me... Why wouldn't they call it the ELC? 1. It's a coupe 2. It more evokes the thought of electricity.
  5. Product Not Found! We're sorry, but the item you are looking for cannot be found. Please use either our search tool, or browse the virtual aisles by clicking on a department icon above. Thanks again for visiting Walmart.com!
  6. The rumor is wrong. The ELR will specifically undercut the Tesla S by a few thousand. Meaning the ELR will probably base just above the Volt's current top end (remember there are Volt price cuts coming)
  7. Currently my favorite GM built ride! Congrats! I huge upgrade over a G6.
  8. $36 here for the Toronado
  9. There was both. There was a 4.5 V8 Diesel for trucks and a 2.9 V6 Diesel for cars. The 2009 CTS was supposed to get it for European launch
  10. I suppose it really depends on how important a bit of history it is.
  11. and what did you think of the Cruze?
  12. The Ciel is new and never before seen. I've seen the Converg in person at least twice now.
  13. Delta was what the Cobalt SS was built on. It kept up with high end BMWs on the 'Ring. The Insignia was indeed designed for the autobahn... like... specifically.
  14. First Official Photos of the 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider August 19th 2011 - Drew Dowdell - CheersandGears.com While there have been a few illustrations floating around out there, the first official photos of the 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider showed up in our inbox today. Set to debut in September's Frankfurt Auto Show, the 458 Spider will share the same mechanicals as its coupe counterpart packing the same 570 horsepower and 400 lb-ft 4.5 liter V8. The retractable hard top and extra chassis strengthening will add weight and likely lower the overall performance compared to its coupe sibling. European deliveries begin in September 2011 with U.S. deliveries starting in early 2012. 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider Official Photos

  19. I wonder if I could convince him that I got my white one repainted with color changing paint. I have an apartment building with garage space already... storage is no issue.
  20. Newsflash - The iPhone isn't the cheapest way to make calls and the battery is a bitch to get changed!
  21. Geez man, what do you do for work man?
  22. 1981 Toronado Diesel Albert would murder me.....
  23. That is what makes the Volt perfect for right now. It is a blend of both. The EPA really needs to fix it's rating on it though, it does far far better in the real world.
  24. Alas, BMW is about 'joy' now (they dropped 'The Ultimate Driving Machine' tagline). A FWD entry line seems like a cynical branding ploy to achieve volume amongst lame posers who want the brand cachet but not the substance. Most of FWD 1-series will probably be 4cyl automatics (at least in NA where too few people are capable of driving a manual). Most of the RWD 3-series, 5-series, and all of the 7-series are automatics too... True...but at least they are still RWD. I've never understood why Americans don't like manuals, but I have no problem w/ refined automatics, esp. in luxury cars (was the 7 series ever offered w/ a manual? (answered my own question--apparently yes--the first 3 generations were offered w/ a 6 and a manual, probably Europe only). meh, 90% of drivers don't care if they are RWD or not. Most think their 3-series is FWD anyway.
