  1. Dexos is just an oil rating. There are many many different Dexos rated oils. They are all basically the 5w-30 version of a brand's full synthetic product. It's actually better than recommending Mobile 1 because it is now not brand specific. Ask yourself this, why would GM want to be stamping Mobile1's brand on the engine cover of all of their products? But there is very little debate over whether synthetic oil is more healthy for an engine or not. It is... and it is within GM's rights to require its use for the car to be under warranty.
  2. but you've also never described your stature
  3. To be fair, nearly all of the consumer GMCs share that trait in your part of NJ & PA.

Price is kinda high for the mileage
  6. One wonders if the father spent any money on performance driving lessons.

  8. I drove the 6-speed manual, I found it to be a nice shifting car. Still, if there is an issue, good to see Cadillac reacting to it so quickly.
  9. I "like" the current Charger, but I "love" the 300c.
  10. If names didn't matter, Ford would not have returned to Taurus. 3-series and 5-series have become names of their own. Say "3-series" and you instantly know which car... it is not the Chrysler 300 nor the Mazda 3. The 5-series is neither the Fiat 500 nor the Ford Five Hundred nor the Mazda 5. BUT it needs to be phrased as "3-series" otherwise questions start.... that's why I say that the phrase #-Series has become a name in of itself.
  11. I'm the reverse. Average torso but long legs and "gorilla arms"
  12. I wouldn't say it was "worst" it was just unnoticeable as a redesign. When car guys have to look more than once to be able to tell the difference, then you know it was a lame redesign.
  13. Send me the deets in a PM if you think you want to sell it.
  14. I guess I'm asking from a "can I maintain apartment buildings with it" aspect.
  15. That'd have been me.
  16. Your hate of electric cars precedes you.
  17. Yes. There are, off the top of my head, at least 7 vehicles that operate under electric propulsion for sale today. That is, you could march down to the dealership and trade your Jeep in on any of the 7, take delivery today, and have an electric vehicle in your garage by noon. Otherwise, you can buy one of these machines in the press release where there is NO explanation of the process involved much less how much energy it takes to make it (notice they still pull electricity from the grid), only that they've made a gallon and a half of the stuff since August.
  18. Which are you going to believe? A press release about making gasoline from air and water or your lying eyes looking at the Chevy Volt at the dealership next door?
  19. Said no one who ever read a high school chemistry book....
  20. I think they've missed a few ingredients in that recipe... I bet we find out that this is some sort of fraud.
  21. What's wrong with the 95? (sorry, haven't had time to follow every thread on C&G lately)
  22. dfelt, I asked some GM folks about this ability when I was at an event with Buick. They actually can do what you suggest, but as this is their first fleet wide software update, they want it to happen with a tech standing next to the car as a "just in case" measure especially since it is already a customer satisfaction issue. Pushing down an update to the Pandora app, I don't think they would have the cars come into the dealers as it isn't a big deal if Pandora doesn't run for a day till another update gets pushed.
  23. Houston is company HQ now (was Toronto) I believe I'm going to be there at least once more this year.
  24. That may be, but the E-body is just that much easier. I'm probably going to send my original out to be rebuilt just to have it.
