  1. Probably because the platforms aren't done yet. Though I wonder what GM has up their sleeve. I am curious if there is either A) another larger FWD platform hanging around out there we don't know about yet or B) much larger use of alpha than we currently expect or C) much larger use of Omega than we currently expect. I really can't see GM using a Euro sized mid-size platform shared with Citroen to move the Lacrosse up in status or replace Epsydos under the Impala.
  2. Sad news, but also sadly predicable.
  3. I use Albert as my "consumer focus group - subgroup: people dumb about cars".... in the nicest way possible of course. Anyone who drives a Honda or Toyota has been conditioned into thinking that when the "Service Required Soon" light starts flashing, then it is time to get an oil change. It could be 3,000 miles or 15,000 miles... they ignore the sticker as long as that light isn't on.
  4. Hmm. the picture above doesn't match the picture in the press release either.
  5. We'll get the full press release up in a bit.
  6. That is about as nice a compact as you'll be able to buy without going to a premium brand.
  7. Sounds about right. We should get one last refresh out of the current Lacrosse which I believe is the oldest EpsyDos car on the market at the moment. The 2014 EpsyDos is the Impala.
  8. This move probably just saved Opel/Vauxhall and possibly even Holden as a brand.
  9. Made a couple of changes that should reduce the number of spam posts you see. Admins will still see the posts, but it won't be visible to the general public.
  10. Dexos is just an oil rating. There are many many different Dexos rated oils. They are all basically the 5w-30 version of a brand's full synthetic product. It's actually better than recommending Mobile 1 because it is now not brand specific. Ask yourself this, why would GM want to be stamping Mobile1's brand on the engine cover of all of their products? But there is very little debate over whether synthetic oil is more healthy for an engine or not. It is... and it is within GM's rights to require its use for the car to be under warranty.
  11. but you've also never described your stature
  12. To be fair, nearly all of the consumer GMCs share that trait in your part of NJ & PA.
  13. oh... and you're job hunting again?
  14. Price is kinda high for the mileage
  15. One wonders if the father spent any money on performance driving lessons.

  17. I drove the 6-speed manual, I found it to be a nice shifting car. Still, if there is an issue, good to see Cadillac reacting to it so quickly.
  18. I "like" the current Charger, but I "love" the 300c.
  19. If names didn't matter, Ford would not have returned to Taurus. 3-series and 5-series have become names of their own. Say "3-series" and you instantly know which car... it is not the Chrysler 300 nor the Mazda 3. The 5-series is neither the Fiat 500 nor the Ford Five Hundred nor the Mazda 5. BUT it needs to be phrased as "3-series" otherwise questions start.... that's why I say that the phrase #-Series has become a name in of itself.
  20. I'm the reverse. Average torso but long legs and "gorilla arms"
  21. I wouldn't say it was "worst" it was just unnoticeable as a redesign. When car guys have to look more than once to be able to tell the difference, then you know it was a lame redesign.
  22. Send me the deets in a PM if you think you want to sell it.
  23. I guess I'm asking from a "can I maintain apartment buildings with it" aspect.
  24. That'd have been me.
