  1. The awesomeness of Car and Drive can only be matched by the awesomeness of Road and Track as both publications are experts in the awesomeness of Toyota and Honda and the un-awesomeness of Ford, Chrysler and GM. awesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawe somenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomenessawesomeness
  2. No GM emblem on the door. God those look bad. And as long as they are going retro with the design, go retro with the colors, my sister's es had a '69 that was green with black stripes, it looked better than you might think.
  3. I not get thems until I used Type R come outs.

    Tornados

How about a car-related update? A Ford dealership that was right in the path was advertising a "Hail Sale" last weekend, a few hundred to maybe a couple thousand dollars off the price of a damaged car. The evil Chevy dealership, which I hate, which was not in the path of the storm was advertising the same thing, except they were offering like $5000 off new Cobalts and $12k off '07 Tahoes.
  5. I'm the opposite in a way, I live in a college town (we have one big one, a couple of less big ones an a huge community college) and while the number of G6s on the roads seem to be increasing, they are non-existant in the college neighborhoods. I've never seen one in any of the dorm or Greek parking lots or in the parking garages.
  6. I saw a white one last night (also saw qan FJ Cruiser but thats another story) and I agree that the hood cutline is awful, the grille needs to raise with the hood, not only to get rid of the ugly ass cut line, but also to make access a little easier.
  7. The G6 is selling pretty well, I see more and more every day (still wouldn't buy one myself) and they dont seem to be getting the same high school girl/sororiwhore/Avis crowd the Grand Am got, so where are the sales coming from.
  8. Yep, more expensive parts plus more difficult installation (trust me, I've looked under the hood of my car, no mere mortal can do more than just the most basic of maintenances) make for a car that just isnt worth it compared to the brand-spankin new competition.
  9. Hondas, like most new cars, are expensive to repair, which is why a nice fat long warranty can be a huge selling point, especially to people buying this class of car.
  10. If I were only going to keep it 3 years, then ok the Fit might win, but a lot of people keep their cars longer and Hondas are expensive to fix and they DO break, even if it is infrequent. If I am going to be paying for a car for 4,5, or even 6 years, I'd rather have it covered under warranty the whole time.

    The Haircut

I once lost a bet with my ex and had to dye my hair blonde. For some reason I kept doing it for about a year.
  12. Unless the Fit gives you a handjob daily, I really dont see why anyone would pick this over an Aveo, or the barely more expensive Civic, or an uber-warrantied Hyundai or Kia.
  13. The color is prety nice and the car seems extremely well equipped, but I'd still rather get a stripped, base Mini (or stretch the budget for a base Cooper S or well equipped base model) or get an RSX, they're getting pretty old, lease deals on them seem to be really good (209/month-36 months-$1500 down) lately.
  14. Like it or not, to a lot of people NASCAR still has a dumb redneck image, do you really want the Camaro name (the third gen also has that sort of image) attached to NASCAR?
  15. The older ones have always been big around here, the newer ones (and verts) and still extremely rare.
  16. *What ever happened to the BS Flag?* Someone on the assembly line or at the dealership would have caught this. What does GM Kool Aid taste like anyways, anything like Cuervo? And the Malibu came out to replace the Corsica and to try to out-Camry Toyota, it didn't work. I dont think anyone is pulling a bunch of Epsilons into any warehouses to tear them down and try to emulate them, well maybe Chrysler will in order to figure out how to make a decent transmission and design an interior that isn't a big black lump of plastic. Also, I'm pretty sure that if you get 100 G6 owners in a room 94 of them would trade their car in for a BMW. The initial price difference and liklihood of higher insuance premiums are a couple of reasone the G6 sells more than the 3er. Not many people aspire to be part of the Pontiac family, the have a piece of the wonderful Pontiac heritage (I think the 80's and 90's undid most of the good karma Pontiac had built up, except the Bonnie, its been a pretty good ride throughout).
  17. If there is room for a mattress, at least an air mattress, it could be put to good use.
  18. My eyes hurt
  19. Um...shouldn't you be congratulating Honda? I guess you could give props to GM for getting Honda to agree to sell them a $h!load of engines I guess. It is a great combo though.
  20. Iron Duke, 3sp Auto, FWD Just joking....or am I?
  21. Maybe its not that nobody knows about it, but that nobody cares. Really do you think the average car buyer (something like 60% of new car purchase decisions are made by women) really cares if a car actually makes 5-15hp less than advertised? This is really one of those things that domestic enthusiasts will bring up to bash imports even though it will really only affect one out of about every ten thousand sales. That really is how insignificant this is in the world.
  22. Cheap changes with time, advancements in engineering, design, build process mean that an interior that was world class five years ago is now cheap and ugly, thats how it goes. The world moves quickly, GM doesn't.
  23. #4 is a Mustang
  24. I thought I saw an SC with a Landau, turns out it was a convertible, custom job, damn thats a nice car.
