  1. Some people werent meant to be parents, thats for sure. My (4 month pregnant) girlfriend has a 10 year old son, his father wasn't around for the first five or so years and only got involved because he got remarried (his new wife was pregnant, odds are it isn't his) and his new wife wanted a family including his son. Neither of them are a person I would want a child raised by.
  2. There is an orange 3-door Freelander at a used car lot I drive by frequently, it would be tempting if it weren't priced at like $19k.
  3. I've seen a black one a couple of times. How do I know it was the same one? They put a magnetic sticker for their real estate company on the side of it. Driving clients around in a brand new, better than all Escalade: Cool Driving around with a big white magnet on your new Escalade: Lame
  4. Most serial killers and psychopaths derived pleasure from torturing and killing animals in their youths.
  5. I saw one the other day, gold with a beige cloth top. And yes, it looked atrocious. Funny you mention curb feelers, I saw some on a car the other day, it was an old Olds or Buick being driven by a guy in his mid-20's.
  6. Yeah, thats getting into Freelander territory and we know how the Freelander sold. For close to $30k there are better alternatives for both everyday SUV transportation, and why would you pay $8k more for an Fj than for a Wrangler which should have equal off-road skills?

    Tornados

So yesterday was another ho-hum sunny, 75 degree day, then last night came and brought with it the evil storm clouds. I was at my girlfriend's house, which was right in the path of the strom, about two blocks away a tornado dropped, threw some loose stuff around, downed some power lines, ripped off some shingles from a few roofs, nothing too damaging, the worst damage was done by baseball (according to the weatherman it even got to be cell phone sized ) hail. We had nothing, no hail, just some rain and enough wind to throw up some loose grass and make my car really dirty. At least I thought that was the worst of it, I found out that really wasn't the worst. About four miles west of us a twister came down and took out several houses. But I'm ok, my immediate family is ok, and right now thats all I am concerned with.
  8. Anyone with a mid-90's GM will feel right at home. And the Element gets terrible mileage, 2 or 4wd, auto or manual, for a 4cyl.
  9. When do they hit lots? I will probably go check one out, it would make a more logical (less cramped) successor to the Solara when Baby Satty is born and I realize I dont have enough room in my car.
  10. Fly, get it right, those are faux-SUVs, either tall-roof station wagons for people obsessed with image (SRX, ML, X5, etc) or real SUVs dumbed down for those obsessed with image (Escalade, Navigator, etc). Isn't shallowness great?
  11. No thanks on the McMansion, I like being able to tell which house is mine when I am driving up the street at 2 in the morning dead tired. They also make delivering hell because all of the generally poor layout of the subdivisions they are in, overuse of cul-de-sacs and whatnot. Give me an older, unique house or some custom contruction, please.
  12. Go Insight Go! If sales continue to climb like this, it might sell 100 units next February!
  13. I did that for the longest time with my Saturn. It works, and its pretty easy to do without scratching anything. The only problem was that I usually rode a gravel trail and the black leather in the car wouldn't stay clean. I went and bought a bike rack towards the end of last summer and it worked great, although it looked a bit strange, a former co-worker said it looked like a face hugger. Also, I wasn't paying attention to where the pedals were and my trunklid got scratched up. Now that I have the Solara, I haven't even tried putting the bike in the car, just rack it and go, making sure I pay attention to the pedal position. So far the rack hasn't scratched anything, but the Solara's spoiler and trunk lid design made it really hard to use the side straps so now I just attach them to the top of the trunk lid. The other advantage of a rack is that I dont have to mess with removing the tire which, even with quick-release, can be a hassle, especially taking it back off after a long, tiring ride.
  14. If you dont mind my asking, what the hell would make a person come down here on their own accord?
  15. $5 to the person who makes the best connection between this car and the soap product of the same name.
  16. Yep, the only requirement is to be a complete tool. Then again, I'm on my third college and have spent time around thousands of frat guys, so I could be wrong. Sorority girls are the same way, only usually hot and surprisingly less prickish than frat guys.
  17. NOS, they didn't think you were a butch lesbian, they just thought you were a guy who forgot to take the makup off after the drag show.
  18. I once mistook a Mercury Sable for a Lucerne.
  19. I saw three car carriers full of GMT-900 SUVs. One was full of Tahoes, one had a bunch of Tahoes and an Escalade and one was a bunch of Yukons, it may have had an Escalade on it too.

  21. Yep, Acura will, with this stupid frivilous lawsuit, bankrupt Ford over a meaningless name. The headlines on CNN will be "Ford steals from Acura, Honda executives lock selves in room for weeks over this raping of their naming structure." Get over this stupid media thing, its retarded.
  22. Geez Stace, you're 25 now you dont need to lie about your age to get into bars anymore. Adding a few years is sooooo juvenile.

    Interesting...

I exchanged a few emails with a Mini salesman who kept telling me about how wonderful the Checkmat package is, blah blah blah. The package inclused DSC, fog lights, spoiler and a bunch of other random junk I could do without, like the bonnet stripes, which I do not like. Plus the graphics looks cheesy.
  24. Or Pontiac could be getting only the coupe. The midsize coupe isn't G7 while the sedan is G6. Giving different names to the exact same product is abso-f@#king-lutely retarded. This is coming from someone who drive a Toyota (Camry) Solara for christs sake.
