  1. If that was meant to clear up the confusion, I'd love to see the original.
  2. This being a Buick, I would expect a Driver Incontinence package in there somewhere as well.

    Firefox?

I've been using Chrome more the last few days. But no matter which browser I'm using, C&G has been painfully slow. It started about the time the ads went up. Coincidence?
  4. Your point is that its ok for some cars to fail to meet GM's expectations, but not others. The best small car market ever? Possibly, but the Astra was priced against the Cooper and Rabbit, problem is that the Astra is no Cooper and no Rabbit. And nobody knows it exists, GM never bothered advertising it. That makes it hard to sell 40,000 cars. The G8 gets some advertising, but sales didn't pick up until 11% of the MSRP was put back on the hood. Its not the runaway success you people are making it out to be.
  5. The Astra was nearly 5 years old when it got here, overpriced, underequipped and unadvertised, so what exactly did it have in its favor? The G8 is still selling under projections, even after GM threw cash on the hood, the fact that its outselling a bunch of junk (Vibe, Astra, Aura) is pretty meaningless.
  6. I read an article (I think in C&D) when the Magnum concept acme out. It quoted someone inside Chrysler that said they were considering RWD before the merger, but the merger made it a lot easier. The reasons given had to do with styling and underhood packaging.
  7. You did once lambast the Astra for not selling up to GM's projections. Are you willing to do the same with the G8 since its still not selling up to GM's 30k unit projections?
  8. LY had better be flexible enough, otherwise Chrysler will be doing what Buick was doing with the LeSabre and Park Avenue. Selling two cars of identical size with identical powertrains but with slight styling differences. I doubt we'll see a manual, that would be more fitting for a Dodge version.
  9. I miss Snitz, those were the days.

    WT - what car?

I once worked with a woman who drove a gray Chevy Celebrity. One dai, it was a slightly different shade of gray. She had painted it with what appeared to be house paint. Judging by the lines, she used a paint roller with a brush for the edges. She painted the sunroof closed, and to top it all off, she attempted to paint the steel wheels with the same paint and technique.
  11. Thanks to the Internet Archive Wayback Maching you can see C&G over the years. Not every thread works, but you can see back to when I objected to the Cobalt name because it seemed like GM just went through a Crayola box. I still feel that way.

    WT - what car?

I did it when I first bought the Buick because the back window on the driver's side would go down, but would only go back up when it felt like it.
  13. Yeah, but some people are either too convinced that there is a conspiracy (or their cable was shut off) so they have to sit around and think that a handful of people are plotting to take over the world.
  14. I despise TiVo, its a long story that goes back to the flu and every episode of The Hills every made.

I hate going to Murphy USA and paying cash because there is always some trailer trash in front of me who needs to know if they have any BoGo smokes. If you're so poor you've got to resort to smoking whichever brand has "Buy 2 get 1 Free!" packs that week, you've made some real mistakes in life.
  16. $100,000,000,000 Zimbabwean dollars is about $60 American if I remember correctly. Could be less now, they're getting killed by inflation.
  17. When I got my first iPod (2004) it was because they were far superior, memory-wise, to the other mp3 players available at the time. Plus, I was already using iTunes to organize my music. After that first one, I was hooked, they're easy to get the hang of and rarely have problems. I'm sure the Zune and other players are at the very least on par with the iPod, but Apple got me hooked when nobody else was really trying.
  18. I'm going to make $100,000,000,000* this year. *Thats Zimbabwean Dollars

QUOTE (YellowJacket894 @ Mar 21 2009, 09:03 PM) parking lot at work as well. Based on that post, I can only assume you work at a Kum 'n Go. Kum 'n Go is the WT gas station of choice around here. Murphy USA (conveniently located in the Wal-Mart parking lot ) is a close second because they typically have the cheapest cigarettes, but not many locations.
  20. Jill got a Touch from her parents for Christmas and its the most pimp thing ever. I've got a Classic, and I think I might still have one of my old Nanos around here somewhere. She's got Oregon Trail, which makes me uber-jealous.
  21. And no '09 Astras in the States, just leftover '08s.
  22. Do what I did with a MINI I test drove, drive crazy-fast through a parking lot in reverse. Its freaking fun. And why the hell would anyone buy an iPod Nano? The Touch is where its at, possibly the greatest piece of equipment man has ever made. 68, you of all people shouldn't be telling people to sit on their money and not spend. You have any idea how many hours you're going to lose at UPS if people quit buying Beanie Babies and used underwear on eBay?
  23. From 2007 to 2008, Pontiac sales dropped 25%. The most recent fleet fleet numbers on the web (mid-year 2008) put all Pontiac models combined at 36% fleet. SO yeah, not everyone wants a Pontiac either.
  24. Need to update this poll for the present economy, there isn't an "I'm livin' off the government" option.
