The Buick lineup will seem so thin, but maybe not so when compared to other product lines out there. In the end, GM is better off building hot products for Buick rather than a bulk of so-so products.

Chevron around here is $2.49 to $2.70. Not so bad really.

The Cobalt had a high rating, making it $120 a month. My wife freaked because we've never paid more than $80 for insurance (full coverage with towing, etc.). Even our Alero GL2 was only $80 per month. The Roach is $70 per month.

I love the interior of the concept vehicle. I hope GM starts coming out with their own interior direction instead of copying others.

Any ideas on engines for the new Buick SUV? Will it get DOD? Will it have better gas mileage than the Vous?

It's going to be painful, but they do need to shift away from incentives. As GM slowly comes out with gotta haves it will become easier to move away from gotta discounts. The problem is when they introduce the car with the discount before letting the public determine if the car needs a discount to sell.

I wouldn't discount America/Americans, just yet. What makes us #1 is not our ability to do something bigger, but our ability to be the first on the block to come up with the idea, and the first on the block to make the billions on the idea. China, Saudi, Japan, & India all have the same problem. Dreaming is not a part of their society. They will only go so far by copying us. In the end, as long as we are the head dreamers will be the richest country. Think of it another way. Who cares if you pay your people $0.5 an hour to do something because you have to compete with the rest of the world on a cost basis to produce something. Here in the US, the auto industry, the computer industry and the like have set the world on fire. We will continue to be the inovators because that's what we are. That's who we are. When you travel around the world you'll see they can't and don't teach about dreaming like we do here. You can't without a free press, without schools that emphasis individuality, etc.

State Farm covers our cars, house, and disability insurance. We originally used State Farm for our life insurance (something I recommend all you young people do early on), but switched to Phoenix Life as I am able to get $1,000,000 policy for only $41 per month.

I couldn't agree more, though I do wonder if the exterior fit and finish will be as bad as the interior.

It doesn't help that modern cars just don't break often enough to "need" to replace them.

My kids still have most of that list in their lives. Not getting a video game, and living in a town of 2900 people helps. I don't see some of the classic things with kids now days like; 1. Riding on the handle bars 2. Happy Meals (my girls would rather have a salad bar)

IF GM really does take from Opel and does little suspension, engine, etc. changes, I think Saturn will be a huge hit again. They key will be how much they "Americanize" the brand line.

If Mercedes is using 7 speed autos, then Cadillac should jump to 8. There is no reason they should be 2nd to anyone.

There's a good reason not to dump the 3800 just yet. There is a loyal following, especially among Buick buyers for that engine. I think it was a smart idea for Buick to keep it around a little longer, though they should have given the option of either V6.

As the old saying goes, they forgot the kitchen sink.

The Lucerne is a beautiful car, but does it stand out enough to capture conquest buyers or does it just tide over current Buick owners? Quality rankings will help, and I'm sure this one like all Buicks will be at the top. But what about stand out passion you say? Lexus hasn't had that and it's worked. Why not Buick?
