Holy Cow! You sure took a lot of pics. Looks like it was a blast. I hope there will be a C&G meet one day.

I had a really bad dream that lasted 2 days, I was back in the 80's and the internet hadn't been invented yet. I don't know much about the web/hosts etc but I do find this site very slow sometimes. Its probably the slowest site I visit. I'd make a donation for better service.

CTS and Enclave are my choices.

We've talked about this before but you can't judge how a car is selling by how many you have seen on the road. There's over 300 million cars on the road in the U.S. so the chances of seeing a new model that has only sold a few thousand is pretty slim. Isn't Orion suppose to start buidling the Malibu in early December? I'm sure that plant could switch to mostly Malibus for for the 1st month to fill the pipeline.

I went to my local dealer last night for their official unveiling of the car. They had 2 cars, a base LS and a LTZ and both are sold. The LS was bought by a women who went in for an Aveo but she won 10K on the ring in and win promotion so she upgraded to the Malibu. Dealer said he only expects to receive a couple more this year and won't have a big selection until the end of January. I was very impressed with the car. Even the base model looks really nice. Like my brother the import lover said if GM can't sell this car throw in the towel.

I was wondering why that was in there too. Surely they must know the Aura is not a hot seller. Maybe they just felt like giving it a plug or maybe GM was supplying the cool aid.

Bob, you were too kind in your description of my car. Your photos of the city came out very nice. The one of the Cutlass in front of the oratory would be a good candidate to submit for the 2008 C&G calendar if there wasn't so many friggin foreign cars in the background. I won't tell anybody what kind of car you got stuck with for a rental. :AH-HA_wink: Take care

I am already planning on attending the Olds club of America summer meet in Dearborn next July but I can't remember the date / weekend exactly. I would like to be in Flint for this too. It will be interesting to see what GM has planned.

I mailed out a cheque for 2 calendars in January too and my cheque was never cashed and I never heard anything about them again, what's up with that? I'm in for at least one this year and maybe I'll take half a dozen if my car makes it in. :AH-HA_wink:

I work with a guy who has an 85 that he's owned since new. He's spend about 10K in the last few years restoring it. Has to be the worst vehicle I have ever been in EVER. No power, uncomfortable, crappy ride, noisy. Plus sometimes I have to listen to his BS stories about how its better than any 4x4 made now. Saw my first Focus and Accord coupe on the weekend.

Toyota is not in trouble. Their recent troubles are just small speed bumps that come with the rapid growth they've been experiencing in the last few years. That doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed their recent problems and I do hope they continue but I wouldn't bet on it.

Great job and keep it up. I wish I had the time and stomach for stuff like that.

Those wheels were only on the old Malibu SS and I think they sold about 7 of those in the last few years so I think they can pass for an all new wheel.

The black is beautiful except for the ebony interior. Nice to see one with different wheels, they really improve the look for me compared to the LTZ wheels which I find look awful.

I think we're getting stiffed here too. We never get the amazing sale prices and factory to dealer stuff the states gets. I just compared an Impala LT on gm.com and gmcanada.ca with the exact same options and the price difference is $6,040.You notice it even more the way the options are priced. Why is a sunroof $900 in the U.S. and $1340 cdn or a body side moulding $100 u.s and $145 cdn.
