  1. Well thank God, tht's comforting esp. considering Oldsmobile is dead, Pontiac is in the ICU and being violently choked by a bunch of (new) bean counters & instead of a slew of RWD, V6/V8 powered Zeta products in dealerships like the masses have been begging for, we're getting a bunch of FWD mediocrity. Again. Saturn can go take a LONG walk down a short pier any day IMHO.
  2. How the hell do you end up in Detroit, without having EXPECTED it when you live in central Penn....? What did you run out for a pack of smokes and make a wrong turn & not realize it for 250 miles?
  3. or Windex. Former Massachusetts Governor Dukakis' wife drank that when under close supervision while battling alcoholism. Personally if I was married to him I'd drink Sulfuric Acid.
  4. WTF.... How did I miss this thread!? Is this a joke? How could this be? My condolences go out to you Camino. You just can't understand the genius of GM, for instance did you know that GM saved $30 billion by killing the B-body in 1996 & thereby HANDING over the ENTIRE BOF-V8-RWD car market to FoMoCo, and thereby ensuring they would never again be a serous player in the police/taxi/limo market, never mind alienating thousands of old, loyal customers... the math is all there. [/Knee-Deep Sarcasm]
  5. Damn, that's a long list of stuff, I too am jealous. C'mon! If I ever came face to face with a Bugatti Veyron, and my camera was at home, AND my cell phone's camera was non-functional I'd run to the nearest ATM and then drug store to get one of those $8 disposables... how do you NOT have photos of these cars!?
  6. F*** Israel, F*** the entire middle east. The whole lot of them are ignorant eye-for-an-eye proponents of bloodshed. I say we pull out of there altogether and let them kill each other over a dry crappy piece of real estate the size of Vermont. The Muslim Arabs are sadly, at least in large numbers, backwrds religious fanatics who defy both logic, reason & civilization. As far as Israel, it's an artificially created country in the midst of religious nutcases who are convinced they also, are entitled to the same land. In the end, I can not side with either. Both kill women & children in the name of religion, God & a supposed higher-power claim to a barren wasteland...
  7. The key to the ONLY answer that this country will have to the millions of unanswered questions & unaddressed disasters all comes down to a need to "SHUTDOWN & REBOOT" the country.... look at the bottom of my sig.
  8. I've always called anyone & everyone complaining of rear visibility in a barn-Door Suburban a loser/pu%$y. Guess how much REAR widow visibility THIS guy has? Yet he can back up PERFECTLY up to a loading dock. The true sign of a skilled driver is never having to turn around (or rotate your head) when backing up. That is why trucks, including Suburbans, come with BIG rear view (side) mirrors bolted to the doors or A-pillars. As far as GM not offering barn doors because all of you poor souls who can't use your side mirrors well, it's the 21st century, even crappy 600,000 mile 250-cu.in. Chevy Inline-6 powered UPS trucks at work have a basic backup camera! Get with it GM.
  9. Hell that's a deal I could not refuse.... nice offer.
  10. What a cockamamie formula. 1959 Buick LeSabre: (~58,000 miles/1959) 29 y.o. 1984 Mercedes 500SEC: (202,100 / 1984) 102 1992 Buick Roadmaster: (125,500 / 1992) 63 1995 Chevrolet Suburban: (185,200 / 1995) 93
  11. Soon as I read "rare 2003 Suburban" I KNEW it was quadrasteer. I can't help but agree with XP about he modern 'Burb. Just like the lack of hardtops at GM it's a DAMN shame you can NOT get a barn-door SUV. hatch-backs may be for $h!pile Civics, true, but the irony is you can get Barn Doors in a freekin' 2010 MINI for krissake... of course the GTM900s ar still great trucks, but if GM does really end up going UNIBODY with their full size SUVs & I'm not even going to suggest transverse motors, than all fu*%ing hope is lost. Speaking of which.... I'd love to rock a 1959 PLYMOUTH SUBURBAN.
  12. Just wait till FoG sees this...
  13. Burn, crash n burn!!!!
  14. Cool. I wish Chrysler a bright future. [hint: clone Virgil Exner]
  15. Ups aint any better. 5 holidays a year.
  16. Toesuf94: That story is priceless! : ---- Wow that photo is blurry.... here's one w/ the flash:
  17. Wow.... that sux, sorry to hear that. I did some minor "damage" to my new FREE winter whip. But that does not count since it was intentional...basically I drove into/through/over several snowbanks, some hardened into rock-hard ice-walls, so as to destroy and rid myself of the lower air dam (wind baffle) under my 'Burban's bumper, thereby improving my angle of attack when climbing steep grades. Here's a typical parking job of mine as of late ---
  18. Last night XP715, myself & two of our friends officially kicked off the New England Chevrolet/GMC SUBURBAN sub-chapter of the T!gHt Wh1p$ car club. Here's a few photos from the meet, taken in Westford, Massachusetts Jan. 4th, 2009. Left to Right: 1990 Chevrolet Suburban, 2wd 1500 (XP715's daily driver) 1987 Chevrolet Suburban, 2wd 1500 (our friend Robert's winter beater) 1995 GMC Suburban, 4x4 1500 (Tall-Paul's daily driver) 1995 Chevrolet Suburban, 4x4 1500 (my newest winter whip) All four are powered by Chevrolet 350s. All but Robert's beater have barn doors. You might recall that Tall Paul was the 4th TWCC member to join DodgeFan, JessiChan & myself on the Oklahoma roadtrip to see Miss Belvedere in summer of 2007. Robert, an older gentleman who I met through Paul is the owner of that GORGEOUS 1932 Studebaker I've posted photos of on here before. It's a very rare All Weather Rumble Seat Roadster.... 99% unmolested. '32 Studebaker, gotta love those OVAL headlights. Anyway I thought you guys might get a kick out of that. this whole "Suburban club" as a sub-chapter of TWCC was started by XP715 as a joke, but now that I have a 'Burban of my own (again) it works out splendidly... but I have to say I wish I still had my red/black 1991 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4 with the huge ladder-racks & 240,000 miles of patina.
  19. I was born in April of 1979.... so I missed mot of the Swingin' '70s.
  20. The point is, Edsel was hardly the failure it is made out to be by some....
  21. True, well I've seen it on moer than one website (never looked it up on WIKI) as the "Special Speedster"... I NEED that Packard book Balthy mentioned.
  22. IMHO the front wheels can never be too far forward.
  23. Hahahahah.... Dude, don't apologize. You're someone I honestly consider a friend on here... not just fellow C&G member, you know I myself preach the "DON'T crush 'em!" philosophy, esp. when it comes to the RWD-V8-BOF cars. The Roadmonster was, if you recall, bought by me a year ago almost to the day. I saved the car from the junkyard and have pretty much squeezed blood from a rock. 14,500 miles on less than $600 TOTAL investment? Beat that. Like I said, I've been planning on posting a few photos of the the Epic-Red-Neckary that is: The Roadm0nster.
  24. Wow.... fan-dangled intranet-web always misinforms.
