  1. Congrats on the purchase. You've got a nice car there... buy the weatehrstriping from the dealer for the best fit/quality.
  2. BBL: sounds like fun.
  3. Ahhh... memories. :P I was just a kid with a newly acquired driver's license when these were first printed. How long did you guys squint and stare at this 1"x2" photo? And later the real McCoy.
  4. Before my time... I joined in late-late 2004.
  5. I looked into getting my Camaro on Overhaulin' waht I got after a few days of email writing was an email response from the Discovery Channel & TLC saying the channels and or producers of the show do not take public solicitations or ideas. <_<
  6. Eeeekk.

Hey Croc: I would really appreciate it if you just stopped interacting with me. If and when you have something to say to me, just don't. Mmmm-kay?
  8. Some crappy exhaust notes: anything wiht a coffee can exhaust DOHC Japanese motors wiht cherry bombs. :puke: Honda S2000
  9. Some great exhaust notes: Any SBC wiht a free flowing exhaust and high compression. Any big block chevy with a decent set of duals Northstar Caddys 3800s, esp in Camaros Impalas and Rivieras 5.0 Mustangs wiht headers... even shorty headers. I can honestly say with 100% honesty that my very own '68 Camaro has one of the best exhaust notes of a non-restored budget muscle car I've ever run across. I love true duals on a crate motor like the ZZZ350. The 7000 rpm redline with awsome horsepower peek makes it quite a enigma to the ear.
  10. Wow... I guess this is where HOnda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus/Scion engineers get their start... wiht Rikon Photograpy Equiptment and National brand Rice Cookers.
  11. Agreed. '63 Conti ragtop gets trashed.... :( Those early 60s Lincoln ragtop 4drs are the only Lincolns that gets me really excited. I mean "Giddy like a school girl with candy in her pocket" kind of excited.
  12. What a freekin waste of a perfectly good drifting candidate. Hey Japan: it's been done and they're called Excalibur and Zimmer. The only real differance is that they cut up Fords/Lincolns to make those.
  13. Of the top of my head at 2am.... - Roadtrip - Goodfellas - Casino - Austin Powers - South PArk BLU - Red Dragon - Billy Madisson I could keep going but that's enough for now. :)

LOL @ Rosa Parks Highway... adopted by KKK. RIP, it takes balls to start a revolution. Paradigm shifts don't happen by temselves. We need people like Rosa to say *eff-this, I've had enough and now I'm taking a stand!*

Not fuc*ing BAtman again... that thing is addictive. I had the window up wiht the sound turned up for a while yeasterday just laughing my ass off. That's a catchy toone. :P
  16. I'm not saying I'm in love with the styling but they are a great used car buy.... esp. for less than $1000 bucks.
  17. Actaually I don't like the styling of those as much as the previous 70s and early 80s ones. Little bit ugly in a cool kind of way. Many strange or fugly things about old school Mercedes Benz's are actually just a result of "form follow function" practicality. Like the self cleaning tail lights. And besides, 50mpg in a mid size sedan with the ergonomics, safety and comofort of a Benz? How's that not a list of wining features? Diesel Benzs go 500,000+ in europe before they're retired. They never freekin die. Its rare when one gets junked and even then it's usually becasue the car is rusted beyond reason. I have a Lebanese friend who told me guys take a bus or plane to Europe and buy a 10, 20 or 25 year old diesel benz and drive it all the way back to Lebanon. Usualy the car already has 300,000 or 400,000 Km (180/240K miles) on it and other than basic maintenance and replacemetn of wearable items it is driven without a problem for many more years. Wheel bearings, tie rods, clutches and brake pads are no big deal when your engine, trans & rear end will last 800,000 kilometers.
  18. Am I crazy for acuatlyl liking this thing? The back is hideous but I love the front. In fact I did a drawing abck in the late 90s that was VERY close to this.... the frile was a bit wider but it still had the Edsel thing going on. :P In a parallel universe where I already had a bunch of classis cars and just wanted a weird daily driver wiht strange styling I'd buy this thing too, wouldn't even mind the TSX mechanicals.
  19. see now that's a smart and logical engine naming system unlike all these honda/Acura and Toyota motors. My NIssan is L24E for L = inline 24 = 2.4 liters & E for electronic fuel injection. Simple, logical and easy to decipher/understand.
  20. WTH is this 1/1/1/1 thing? Is it an inside joke I'm not in on?? I remember the OJ joke where he has a website... the address being www.///\\///\\.com (slash, slash, back-slash etc.)
  21. I met a cop once when I was selling GMC trucks who had a 3/4 ZZ4 crate motor... he used all the ZZ4 guts (pistons, head design etc) and made a 4.3 liter V6 wiht them... the 4.3 is pretty much a (5.7) 350 with two cylinders removed.
  22. Wow, I'll have to go get this older version of Crash wiht the Lincoln ragtop... please say it's a '61 Conti. :D As far as the one I was talking about (new Sandra Bullock & Brendan Frasier movie) I thought it was very realistic. As far as the anti-gun thing I'll say this: I'd never take a gun to a situation like the store owner with the locklsmith. Right there he crossed the line between protection and just plain stupidity. I'd buy a gun to protect my family. That's it. Not my car or house or money... those are replacable. If someone stole my Camaro right from my driveway and I haad an opportunity to fire on them I'd shoot at the tires if I was pissed enough. Shooting someone over a theft is dumb. If some phsycho ever tried to kidnap my g/f or daugher or tried to hurt my family you bet your ass they'd have a few hollow points lodged in their chest. Like they say, guns do not kill people, PEOPLE kill people. That locksmith told the guy about the door and then just walked out wihtout getting paid... the store owner was an ignorant prick and it was HIS fault the door was not repaired. To then go out and try to kill the locksmith is just greed and stupidity.... nothing else. Teh store owner's family was not being threatened... therefore he should never have taken that gun out of the drawer. Don't get me going, I'm VERY pro-2nd amendment.
  23. VS: Happy B-day buddy. I agree with everything that is being said in this thread..... except for the supposed "need" to drop the 3800 engines. I personally think it's one pf the greatest engines ever made and there's a reason it was voted one of the top ten engines of the 20th century. The 3800, like the smallblock Chevy, should never die. If it aint broke, don;t fix it! Perhaps a revision or update would be nice but not a phaze out. Not unless we start phazing out internal combustion all togeather.
  24. You're making my heart skip beats. I'm with Turbo... '69 Camaros ARE perfect. :)
  25. The Solstice needs only one modification: DOUBLE production cause this baby will resurect Pontiac like the Vette woke up Chevy in the mid 50s. Is it perfect? NO, far from it... but it makes a car that is considered to have defined a niche (Miata MX5) look like crap. Mazda is probably going WTF just happened here? WE OWNED this segement and after the assault by BMW Z3/Benz SLK/Audi TT & Toyota MR-S it's PONTIAC that kisks our ass?
