  1. Yup. that '69 SDV is now my wallpaper for the second time in a month. My neighbor has the exact carbon copy of that car but in a coupe and his is a '70. Same colors, top, hubcaps... everything. His car needs a fuel line that's been a long time coming. It's sat for almost a year now. :(
  2. Solstice headlights and Trans Sport tail lights. :P
  3. WTF!?!?! That car was awsome. :(

    w00t!

I have no *#&$@ idea what's going on!
  5. So the other day I'm at home in the moring getting my day started, I've got several hours of painfully dull work ahead of me and in the mean time a client needs a delivery to western Mass. Since I'm busy and Marcia was going to visit her Friend Audrey anyway (who lives close by to the drop off point) she runs out wiht the Datsun and leaves me and at home to take care of myself and the baby... both sick with a bad cough, runny nose and worst of all a nasty sore throat. Several hours go by and I'm statring to get pissed. I call her on the cell phone and I'm like WTF? Where are you? This isn't a vacation I need you back here so I can concentrate on work not Sofia who is very upset and needs you. As it turns out Audrey was backing out of her driveway so Marcia could park the Datsun in their driveaway and they could take the Focus to the store. Oh, back up a sec. Audrey bought a nice used black Focus sedan this past July. A few week later she had a wicked expensive subwoofer/box/amplifire/cd player/stereo installed and so the girls always take her Focus so they can blast their corny Dance Music. So Marcia is in the Datsun on the street waiting to pull into Audrey's driveway. Audrey has just backed out of the driveway and is going to pull forward onto the street as a car comes flying down the street at about 45mph. He's in a residential neighborhood (25mph) and he's not slowing down one bit. Marica honks the horn to warn Audrey just in time for her to look up and see herself get rear ended at a massive speed and pushed down the street 20 feet. The other car comes to a stop finally and Audries right tail light and bumper cover are like a half a block away. The car you ask? What was the other guy driving? 1970 Cadillac SedanDeVille. The Caddy has a scuffed up bumper and a slight (tiny)crease in the front fender. Audrey's trunk is smashed in, her bumper is pushed in several inches and bent like a V and the whole bumper cover is in another area code. They went to the emergency room and Audrrey is going to be okay but the time lost from work, the pain and stress is doing a number on Audrey. SHe has bad wiplash and her spine is a bit off at the neck. Waht sucks is that they did not take photos of the accident sceene and they moved the cars before the cop got there... Freeking Broads, Audrie blames it on Shock but Marcia even had a camera phone! Anyway guy in the Caddy admited to fumbling with his radio and never even touched his brakes so it should be an open-and-closed case of neglegence on his part, but the idiot cop who arrived to write the report said Audrey did not have the right of way... as if, eh - wahtever. The point is I told her to seek legal council. Audrey and her husband are going to be severely inconvenienced by all this so they should get a fair settlement. They're good peopole but not rich so a little money for all the pain and agrevation will be well deserved. But the point is, shock or not, you ALWAYS keep a camera in your car for this exact scenario and you NEVER unless told so by a cop, move your car from the sceene of the accident.
  6. Wow, get well soon. Hope there's no big inconveniece or complication. I bet WMJ will come over and kiss it better if you ask. :)
  7. You want to know the biggest problem wiht the Solstice? you want me to tell you? no seriously I've got ONE big problem wiht this car here it comes, ready or not: The biggest problem wiht the Solstice is that there isn't one in my driveway right now. This thing is awsome. I love it! Althought Moltar's point is valid... Miata buyers are a loyal breed.
  8. Cool. how about installing shag carpeting and having your passangers rub theri feet in the footwell briskly till their hir stands on end... that produces static electricity too. :P
  9. NOt a huge fan of any of these prototypes, time has not been kind to their "of the moment" styling.
  10. Which is why I love my Datsun so much. I naver thought I'd buy a Japanee car other than a Datsun 510 or some beater RWD sports coupe... but even though the Datsun is the first & only Japanese car I've ever owned it is by far the most eccentric and rare car I've bought yet. Compared to the Datsun my old '83 Firebird and even the '68 Camaro are very abundant in comparison. It would be kind of cool to "preserve" it untill like 25 years from now just so I can take it to car shows and have people gawk at it and say WTH is that? I've never seen one of those in my life! As much as I love the Camaro that'll never happen. Although a '59 Buick, '60 Dodge and 2nd gen Corvair 4dr. HTs are pretty obscure too. And way cooler.
  11. I feel like a total Ass.... I did not mention one of my best C&G buddies. Knightfan. Now here's a guy I have to meet. He has several classic Chevys in his possesion, loves random spur-of-the moment roadtrips and we see eye to eye only about 99.9% of the time. Here's to you buddy, hope to meet up wiht you someday. You need to look again cause you overlooked my post apparently! :) You sick puppy... what a prick, that was supposed to be MY line! ^_^ BTW: That Datsun is hilarious. Thanks that made my day. As far as the black Bimmer imagine that big soccer ball falling on top of your car... I'd be like "Let's get the hel out of here before a 700 foot tall Pele runs over and steps on us!" (I'm assuming that was a publicity stunt by Nike?) C'mon now BV, for a teenager you've got a great ride. I would have killed for a Grand Am at your age... esp. a GT with a manual trans! And besides I'm sure your stopping distance is far shorter than my Camaros, which I is why the poor car needs to go under the knife this winter... some major work is required to get it to "daily summer driver" status again.
  12. I think that myself every so often. :P Well, that sucks... I thought it might have been a Notacamarobutcloselikechevelle SS.
  13. Have you carved yours yet? Let's see some photos. :)
  14. LOL @ Ocnblu.... :P That first photo looks like an aborted fetus of a "Lincoln Escort" rebadge. :puke:
  15. Not what you expected huh? Eh? :P
  16. Hell yeah!!!
  17. God that's so true. I agree wiht Moltar about the Fuc*us.
  18. Pretty much everyone. Believe it or not when I'm not discussing more FWD GM products that are supposed ot save the day I get along with all kinds of car enthusiasts. I often times talk to guys with rides I'd never touch wiht a ten foot pole. There's something abotu car nuts that transcends the car's mechanicals and country of manufacture. Just because I think it's a waste of time to build a 12 second FWD Honda does not mean I don;t check them out at the dragway and see what makes them tick. That being said I think I'd have a good tie hanging out wiht a lot of the enthusiasts here. These select few come to mind in particular. Balthazar: C'mon now the guy has several awsome classics that's reason enough, add to that he's a fountain of knowledge and on top of that he wons a 1959 Buick. The guy is cooler than Fonzie. LordStafford: All around cool guy, now the owner of a Lincoln MarkVIII. We see eye to eye on the BOF/RWD/pushrod argument. I know we'd have a cool time crusin in the CoupeDeVille or Mark8 and peeking in people's back yards at '70 Impalas and '68 Cadillacs. OcnBlu: Always makes the funniest damn comments. I think he's like my buddy Ross... always has something wacked out/funny/shockingly histerical to say. NOS: Fellow Camaro guy, loves 'Merican Muscle as much as I do. WMJ: Pack rats always get along wiht other Pack Rats. Besides this guy also likes obscure and weird cars. Nick: GM and BMW enthusiast. Nuf said. Plus I'd love to go race him down Mulhollands Drive with my Camaro once the brakes are adequate enough. And for what's its' worth I say bring back the bouncin' boobs!!! Censorship sucks! Razor: I've never met a Buick & Olds fan I didn't like. I'm frineds wiht several. Harley Earl: Gotta love the trivia and the friendly reminders about GMs glory days. Eh? Mustang84: Yes he's into Mustangs, he's into a lot of cool American cars. Even though he drives a FWD Lumina his heart's in the right place. *J/K* GT1750: Now this guy's an artist! Wow. Plus he's Czech. Crispey: Still love those retro Camaros. I printed out both of them and showed a few friends. You should be working for GM! And all the rest like Josh & Northstar and even Fly & BlackViper I'd like to meet. Satty seems like a little smartass but I'd give him a chance. :P I'm sure I left a few of you out, don;t get offended please. EDIT: see what I mean... I left out Camino, FoG, Z28lvr, Ted, Moltar, Bimmer, Mute...
  19. Yeah, what Z28 said. :)
  20. Satty's going to burn in hell... :P

Sorry to hear that dude... :) http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif

    I saw...

A few Bruins players.... the bald guy (police chief?) from "NYPD Blue" and David Boreanas come to mind. I'd love to meet some childhood hero of mine or a fascinating character from when I was a kid like David Hasselhof, Mr.T, Arnold Schwartzeneger or (not that it's possible) John Wayne or John Lennon. I love U2 but often hate Bonno's politics (esp. the anti-gun crap) so I'm all set meeting him. How about chillin wiht James Hetdfield? He's into 1st gen. Camaros you know! :)
  23. Flattering pic of the Achieva... not to beat a dead horse but how cool would it be if those cars were hardtops? Looking at the profile in this photo made me think of that.
  24. I got most of them other than the new cheesy stuff and the T-birds. Not a big fan of T-birds.
