Ugh! I need to move away from here.
Hell, if I found "black gold" on my property I'd build my own refinery and gas station where classic American cars, & all 8+ cylinder contemporary cars would always be able to gas up at a significant savings.

While that lady was annoying and completely unreasonable I have a "better"one for ya: About a year ago, having just bought the M.B. 240d Julie & I went to pick up Sofia at my ex's house after which we went on a roadtrip. We took Julie's Mercedes, gas was expensive & I was using the B-59 as my daily driver, she's a thirsty girl, anyway the point is that Sofia was in the back of the Mercedes, passed out, taking a much needed nap in her child seat. Julie wanted to run into the grocery store so I told her I'd stay in the car with Sofia. When I got to the store & dropped off Julie at the entrance I noticed a certain 1964 Chevrolet Impala in the parking lot. The car is the daily driver of an older gentleman... I parked about two or three spaces away, but there were no cars in between the Mercedes and his '64. I had a 5-7 min conversation with the owner of the '64, while standing just a few feet away, constantly glancing over to make sure that Sofia was safe and sound... and still asleep. I was close enough to the car that I had no concern of any idiot busybodies getting on my case, in fact the keys were in the ignition and my wallet was on the dashboard, even though money and the car were of very little consequence, it was Sofia I was concerned for. Well... after that 5-7 minutes,or let's round up to ten, a lady walks out of the dry cleaners and stares at Sofia in the back seat through the window with her face almost pressed up against the glass. I walk over and ask semi-politely if I can "help her with something" and she's already on the phone with the cops. Julie at this point, walks out with her gallon of milk, annoyed at the resulting conversation. I'm laughing at the lady calling our Mercedes a "2400" since the "D" blends with the 240. The cops ran my plate and I explained myself, she got rude with the cops because they were not "taking action" and they told her they had it under control and at this point she needs to leave. Nosy b!tch. BTW: The cop wrote down my name and number and gave me the whole "please be more careful" speech. I thanked him for his concern and we went on our way.

It's back
The more things change.... I work with a Christian who believes the world is 5000 years old, "looking with lust upon a woman" (as in when I checked out a certain co-worker's ass, NO she did not see me doing it) is the EXACT same thing as committing adultery and the best part, his explanation for Dinosaurs: They're living amongst us... on certain continents, unreported by the Scientists who are, like the media, in collusion with the devil to distract us from the inevitable fiery hell that awaits unrepentant sinners.

GM to absorb Chrysler - as Chrysler absorbed AMC?
Hahahaa.... BigPoncho: I 'm shocked I neglected to make that same comment about W.P. Chrysler. Talk about a golden parachute.

Where was my 68 Impala built?
PCS knows ALL. I wonder if Bill Gates has ever heard of "CTRL-ALT-DEL"?

It's back
To piggy-back off my other thread.... I agree with and support about 75% of the ideas in the first movie. The addendum is far too Utopian & hopelessly optimistic to ever be close to reality. Sadly, some, actually many people are too flawed, society, money & ethnocentric influences aside. No prisons? what about the murderers? rapists? anarchists? No work, a perfect society? B.S. even a tiger or a shark, the top of their respective food chains, have to work to get their food. I think there are a lot of great ideas in the addendum but I only agree with, say.... 25% of te overall message. Religion & money ARE both corrupt, disgusting tools used for the promotion & perpetuation of a modern "slavery". I've believed for the last decade+ that religion really IS the opiate of the masses, used to repress the real solutions to many of our REAL problems. While technology is a great tool, it is NOT the silver bullet the movie claims. That's a little naive. ----- I'm shocked how few of you are wiling to check this out, it presents some groundbreaking ideas, I think the overall message is fantastic, and naturally much of it is scary & surreal, no one likes their reality to be F***ed with, eve if it is for their own good.

Good. I just watched the "addendum" to the Zeitgeist movie. Funny how my original idea in this thread is supported by both Zeitgeist movies... too bad they get all silly & advocate a "Utopian" ideal that is not realistic IMHO.

Very Cool. I'm more of a GM fan than Ford but the ElCamino's older cousin Ranchero should be mentioned, lest we forget their mother was a 1953 Holden.

my last word on politics for 2008.
Camino; About a year ago a few of my friends (acquaintances) would occasionally tell me how I'm paranoid and the constant rants about the economy and the horrible end-result of unprecedented outsourcing, the bubble of the housing market, the err of our "patriot act" slippery slope... well, let's just say I was told that my over-the-top opinions were paranoid and delusional After all, it's a bright, amazing future of optimism and world-unity, filled with iPods, hybrid cars and plasma TVs for all. Now the reminder of those conversations draws blank faces.

Two bad choices for President - do you agree?
you're wrong. wrong, WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! You need to just STFU, cause now you're just making stuff up. Clearly, from your post I can tell you're just a fascist, schauvinist pig and a baby-killer. Everything good that has ever happened ever since 1992 to 2008 is Clinton's legacy, while anything bad that happened is the fault of the money hungry, satanic worshiping racist, class-war promoting republicans.... they love to kick kittens and drop anvils on unsuspecting puppy dogs while clinging to their guns and religion. There is two eras of the EVIL Republicans in the last three decades. The first was 1980-1992, Regan & Bush did such horrible things as end Communism and reverse the downward spiral of inflation. (see how despicable these blood-thirsty pig-lords are?!?) The second era of Republicans was/is 2000-2008. Can you believe that G. Bush (Walker) appointed more African Americans with membership in his cabinet than anyone else prior? That despicable child-psychologist wannabe. obviously, as Kanye says, he: "does not care about black people" ----- You %*$^@$ conservatives make me sick! Why can't you just let me sit at home in peace with my seven kids, collect my wellfare check, and /or abort babies as a means of birth control, agree that guns kill people and therefore no person, other than a trusted, uncorruptable & superior-civil-right-vested police officer should ever be allowed to have one, and lastly, why can't you just agree that no matter the cost, everyone deserves FREE healthcare, and punishing those that obtain the American dream with high taxe$$$ is the way to fund it! After all, I can not really contribute much from my pocket, what with my sprained thumb I can not even go back to work at Burger Kingfor another six months. And I can't afford those percosetts out of pocket I'll tell you that much right now.

The ACORN falls not far from The One tree
Dude, I could NOT agree with you more. The idea of gun registration and its supposed "good to society" is the single most biggest croc of Bull$h! in the history of Liberalism. I've been saying since H.S. that we will see an age when knives will have to be registered. Can you explain to me PLEASE which exact "Assault Musket" was banned in the constitution, 2nd amendment?

my last word on politics for 2008.
If things get bad enough, (I hope to God I'm wrong here) it would take a lot less than that.... thank God (existent or not) for the second amendment, because we as Americans need it more than ever. Thanks to big brother and many of the bizarre twists and turns of the past two decades, we just might see an age when the government get so corrupt/out of touch that only some horrific bloodshed will put us back on course. While that would be insanely tragic it's a lesser evil than the current "sit back and just say F*** it attitude" of the typical American. Somehow, sometime, somewhere... probably not in our lifetime but in the not to distant future, the damn has to break. Either it will be WWIII, a second civil war, or civil uprising, or else.... the USA will, just as Rome did 17-odd centuries ago, fall from the greatest power in the world to a mere has been.
