  1. Wow... what stupidity. The middle east is such a mess in every way.
  2. Forget the teal Cavalier, is that a hybrid Covered Bridge? Looks like a "Kingpost Truss" covered bridge with a "Burr Arch". (also, congrats on the new toy)
  3. Dude, I'm quite shocked that you have not shown off this fine Pontiac yet in the "members rides" forum. Not that I expected it to be a beat up pile but that thing is gorgeous.
  4. I like the idea of a 100% flat tax.... also, the "fair tax" seems like a good way to go.
  5. O.B. I was actually just about to post how I like that idea and I did a sketch of a wagon back in high school.... 11, maye 12 or13 years ago of this exact idea, though I think a very basic, thin LED strip (running lights and brake lights) inboard of the weatherstripping would work as well while eliminating some cost. Also: same basic idea would benefit pickup trucks.
  6. Yeah.... I text like there's no tomorrow. Probably 700-900 in a month. Used to be even more before I worked two jobs totaling 14-15 hours a day with travel time.
  7. Tick-tock is right. I think PCS is past his expiration.
  8. Ever notice that fresh paint/die-cast metal/injection molded plastic SMELL that emanates when you crack open a new Hot Wheels car? The other day I was at he store and told Sofia she could pick out one new Hot Wheels car, to my delight she picked that same '69 Chevelle but in black-metallic with a chrome interior and gold pinstripe.... later outside when I opened it for her it made me think of all those other hundreds (actaully, couple thousand) that I've opened over the years. Also recently got her the '69 Cadillac sedan deVille hardtop from Matchbox in Aztek gold. pointed out to her that it was a true hardtop. she's all "Dad you know EVERYTHING about al kids of cars and panes!" (I wish) still, it's nice to be looked up to by a little one, kids are awesome.
  9. almost always > Honda (despite conventional "wisdom")
  10. Yup. posted on that thread. I thoroughly enjoyed my Astra rental in Slovakia/Austria back in 2001. My biggest turn-off to Opel is a certain member 'round here.
  11. I don't know.... do they drive GM prototypes registered to private individuals in the UK?
  12. Satty's argument: most 20 year old beat up Buicks stink. My argument: Most 20-yer old Toyotas don't EXIST, except as stripped shells sitting in junkyards awaiting crushing and the eventual recycling process.... into more crappy modern cars.
  13. I like it. inviting, professional.
  14. Great timing... since GM is killing the name.
  15. We'll see how well the Prius drives down the road, if at all!? when it is 20 years old. Most Toyotas are long crushed by then. Oh yes.... it has nothing to do with the fact that the Japanese are favored by the media, GM's tremendous legacy costs, their refusal to build American cars for American buyers, idiotic choices by clueless management (killing Oldsmobile, starving Pontiac of product) public ignorance/stupidity and anti-American sentiment from people who enjoy seeing the destruction of this country.
  16. Damn... there was moment there... just a millisecond, when I thought: "B-pillar delete option"
  17. I think he means he's a hermaphrodite and thanks to flexible joints is going to go f k himself.
  18. along the lines of the last three posts: One day I was delivering Chinese food (like a year ago) and this guy gives me a nice tip, happens to have a big driveway with mostly if not all GMCs & Pontiacs. I complement him on his all American driveway and all of a sudden I glance at his t-shirt which shows a mushroom cloud with the stereotypical asian-restaurant font on top saying: The Atom Bomb: Developed in the USA, tested in Japan. I found this hilarious (if a bit dark) and mentioned it to a friend (and motorcycle enthusiast) who told me of an old T-shirt he used to have that showed a world map with a bunch of BMW emblems all over the place... (mostly Europe, Russia & North Africa) the caption down bottom said: BMW world tour: 1939 to 1945
  19. Hhaahaah-ha! Thanks dude. Wish I hd the $/time. That's a t1ght wh!p fo' sho'
  20. Yes on the metal wheel. Another way we (as a whole) are softening our kids these days and raising a bunch of lazy, instat gratification seeking whiners: POWER WHEELS. These pedal cars are def. much cooler. I had one myself back in Slovakia that looked very similar to yours, either way good luck with the project.
  21. P.S. Not that I have anything against Russian-Americans. Justt for the record since we both know a few.
  22. Yup. My perspective is even more ironic. After all I was born and lived the first eight years of my life in a communist (CCCP-controlled) country. You guys had the Pledge of Allegiance and a painting of G. Washington on the wall in your 1st grade classroom, we had a bunch of Socialist Lies thrown at us every day and a doctored, colorized photo of Lenin on the wall. I despise communism, socialism, liberalism & any other (even if milder) form of that hellish "system" of government. Thank God my parents & relatives were smart enough to subvert the brain-washing I was receiving in school. By third grade I was already learning Russian in school.
  23. Man I just watched that video (original post in this thread) again and it reminded me why modern cars suck. One drive in that awesome 442 by the biggest bitter skeptic who is obsessed with modern $hit-boxes and they'd be scouring the local classic cars for sale magazines.
  24. yeah.... I see their point too, I really love the '91-'96 Roadmasters but there's something really cool about a '90 caprice with the flush mounted Headlights & yet the BIG heavy chrome bumpers front and rear.
  25. Some good points there... Sooooo.... what is it again that you are "keeping nice longer" by driving a beater Saturn? I was not aware you had a classic...? Last time I checked your daily driver Ford-mazda was your only car, no?
