My restoration project
Hella Cool. You sure you want to put your kid in a car lacking a roll-hoop & B-pillars, never mind a windshield!? /sarcasm

I'm sick of the negaivity.
Go Loki and Balth. Great examples of using your head. I am going to use a fireplace to lower my heating bill this winter also, it was a great feature of this house that I planned on utilizing.

GM's RWD Programs & Federal Loans
For someone who lives in a glass house... you sure do have a lot of rocks. I may be an opinionated weirdo who likes to complain about modern society but my piece of $hit Roadmaster does NOT make me white trash. I would rather daily drive that POS & keep my B-59, which still needs a few fixes before I drive it again, rather than have one boring car, that's neiter white trashy or in any way related to the current automotive market.

I'm sick of the negaivity.
There's so much negativity everywhere (and as Camino said, panic) So here goes, this thread will be a 100% positive ZONE. No bitching (myself included) no whining, no arguing, just clean, good, constructive input about whatever positive things you want to discuss. 3, 2, 1 - GO. 1.) Sometime between right now Halloween I will be a dad for the second time. Amelia is due Nov. 7th but according to doctors will almost def. be early. She's so active, kicking and rolling around in Julie's stomach that you can see her sweater/t-shirt moving around when she's sitting down. I',m super excited but also nervous. What a year to bring another baby into the world... troubling times indeed. but like I said, no negativity, besides, the experience of seeing you own child brought into the world is so awesome and mind blowing any silly negative thoughts melt like an ice cube on the sidewalk in Las Vegas... in June. 2.) Despite my complaints on the lack of a hardtop, the 5th gen. Camaro will be a stellar product and perhaps, if my economic situation allows for it I will buy one. It would be a vote with my money to keep alive the GM I know and love, the true GM that makes product that excites and engages true automotive enthusiasts, not the wannabe guys who buy a new Corolla S and then spend $1800 on new rims to "stand out" but the guys/gals who understand ad know performance, the fun o driving etc. Viva La Camaro! (& the V8 and RWD!) 3.) I saw a 1978-81 Oldsmobile Cutlass hatchback today... http://www.adclassix.com/images/79oldscutlassalon.jpg It was clean, straight, painted white, looked pretty cool driving down rt.97 in Haverhill, I thought to myself NOW THAT would be a great high-MPG car for my discerning BOF/RWD/V8 (or at least V6) tastes. The awesome versatility of the hatchback would make it a fantastic Roadmonster replacement. 4. The Audi A5/S5 is really growing on me, while the Camaro blows it away in every category, esp. price and styling, it's a cool muscular coupe. My favorite aspect of the car however was something I noticed today, those awesome hockey-stick shaped LED strips that act s running lights, er DRLs. Very nice touch, upscale, sophisticated and futuristic.

OJ found guilty in Las Vegas mess
True, but I'm glad that Tropicana Boy is getting what was coming to him. After all, his previous trial was a great illustration of the Metallica song "...& Jutice for ALL" "Justice is raped... halls of Justice painted green" was right.

Two RWD coupes from a company as big as GM is too much? At one point we had the elDorado, Riviera, Toronado, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, Impala, Bonneville, coupe deVille, 98 Regency, Cutlass Supreme Brougham, LeMans, Skylark and a whole bunch of other "personal luxury coupes" from GM and they were all damn successful & profitable!

NO headlights, NO windshield, NO seatbelts
Thanks dude. And as far as cars the sweet spot from my experience is late 1920s to early 1970s. I'd say 1955 to 1969 was the golden (post-war) era. Then there was still a few gems in the early 1970s.... F-bodys, Cadillacs, Boattails, Monte Carlos...

GM's RWD Programs & Federal Loans
Yeah.... cause 20 years of trying to build a better Toyota/Honda has worked well thus far.

Filling the local landfill
Spending time and money taking the talk but NOT walking the walk on the "energy crisis." Refusing to drill Alaska, or make an effort on domestic oil and or refineries while the Chinese drill right off our shores. Flushing our country {further} down the toilet by giving lazy, deadbeat, incompetent and ignorant people handouts while TAXING the middle classes extra hard. Selling our country, it's jobs & and it's resources to the lowest/highest bidder... (gotta red Sofia a book 'casue it's bed time....BBL)

Hmmm ...
'70 nose + '71 tail-lights & rear bumper = nice, logical look.

I wish Bush was ubber conservative, he's a $hitty excuse for a Republican. No self respecting Republican would ever back the Patriot Act. I never said anything positive about Bush... I was making an anti-generalization about the Rep. vs. Dem. stereotype. How typical of a B.O. supporter to count their chickens when they're still eggs. What exactly do you mean by "get things done?" just wondering which anti-USA agenda, which specific ultra-liberal, bleeding heart silliness you are referring to?

mostly city? mostly highway? mix?

Fuel Economy
It's an Escalade, no shame at all getting 14mpg in a 6+ foot tall BOF Cadillac with a honkin V8 and curb weight & luxury appointments that put Rolls Royce to shame. BTW; here's a better pic. of those spotlights:

Should I get a beater?
If I'm going to pay $2000 for a car with 150,000 miles it BETTER be way cooler than some FWD, 4-cylinder econo-box Saturn with Rubbermaid body panels and zero style. To each his own though...

They're clogging my telephone!
