  1. To my surprise, it's roughly on par with teh EPA estimates. Combined mileage varies between 24mpg and 33 mpg depending on how much city driving vs highway driving I do.
  2. Yeah, I do see the Accord tail lamp resemblance. Of course this is a concept - a generic concept at that - so anything could be different come production. On the same page, there are drawings of the next C-Class. My response to that: They've been riding on that C-Class design for like 10 years now; it's about time they update it.
  3. Wood texture is glossy smooth on both. And I'm not even considering whether or not it's faux wood, which it probably is in the Impala. Anyway, the wood in the X3 matches the interior better than the wood in the Impala, IMO. The wheel design isn't so much about the number of spokes, just that the Impala's wheel seems very, very plain and ordinary to me. The X3 wheel stands out. You got me on the MT. I just thought I'd point out that it's there, and available. In the photos you posted, you can see the stitching and gentle rippling in the BMW seats. The Impala just has flat, no frills leather. In summary, these are the differences you'd expect between a family sedan and a luxury vehicle. I am not bashing the Impala for bashing's sake. It has a pleasant interior overall. Just... boring. But on another note, I hate the look of the radio in the X3. ...When the hell did I become an interior snob!?
  4. I have sigs turned off. I haven't even seen my sig in like 4 months. It's more like 10,600 now.
  5. Just about anything you can possibly wish for would have consequences or quirky side effects. Or so television has taught me. If you get 100 Trillion dollars and start spending it all around, first off, where did the money come from? The sky? Imagine we suddenly added 100 Trillion dollars into currency circulation. Inflation would skyrocket. That would hamper everyone else greatly, and enrage them all the more when they find out you have all this money to burn. The story wouldn't be much different if the 100 Trillion dollars came out of other people's pockets, be they rich or poor... For those who wish their life had taken a different path, refer to the movie Mr. Destiny. Unless you don't like Jim Belushi, in which case, I don't know what to tell ya. Point is, there are loved ones you know now that you would have never met if your life had taken a different path, and some things are just meant to be. (Side note, there was a more recent movie that was kinda like the opposite of Mr Destiny, called The Family Man. But that movie's not for people who don't like Nicholas Cage. If you dislike both actors, sorry, you're screwed.) As far as who I'd agree with, I think my answer would be the same as Camino's.
  6. Interesting, to say the least. To give proper critique, I'd have to think of them from an unbiased point of view. -Chevy released these commercials, and I think they're funny in that strange intentionally-stupid sort of way. Useless argument because I like Chevy. -If Toyota releases the same commercials, I'd rag on them for being stupid. Useless argument because I dislike Toyota. -If Volkswagen releases the same commercials, I'd think they're funny in that strange intentionally-stupid sort of way. Not so useful because Volkswagen is known for quirky advertising. So in conclusion, I don't know how I feel about em.
  7. Off the top of my head, in favor of the X3 interior... - Nicer wood texture - Nicer steering wheel design - A manual transmission - Nicer leather texture - A pop-up nav screen And that's without sitting in it. Though, in favor of the Impala... - Nicer stero / HVAC controls
  8. In an age of LCD screeens, there is absolutely NO MORE REASON to put a hi-top roof on ANY vehicle. -Ruins the lines of the vehicle. -Decreases the MPG due to greater wind resistance. -In the case of this Durango, it's now three feet short of being a functional hearse.
  9. Agreed. That shifter would damn-near make the sale for me.
  10. I must admit that contemporary visual art is too vague to be truly appreciated by the masses. This includes myself. Lakefire: since this is art, after all, it's not necessarily meant to be taken at face value. Is there a meaning behind either of these designs? Also, to amend to what Croc last said above, digital art (especially of this particular design) can be VERY easily forged and recreated, making it nearly worthless monetarily speaking, despite the fact that's it's actually quite pleasant to the eye. Now, if you painted the same design, someone might pay more for the original...
  11. Isn't there a Mercedes 4-seater AMG convertible? Like CLK or SLK or whatever the hell acronym they'd use for such a vehicle?
  12. Maybe it's just that photo, but the car doesn't look so bad in silver...
  13. strippers
  14. Doh... What's interesting there is they show the "similar" GM models below each final Oldmobile. It includes the G6 (a 2005 introduction), and the Uplander, but still has the old Montana. And although on the Pontiac website it redirects to the SV6, the page returns an "error" stating that the model is discontinued for 2007. At least they removed all direct links to that page from the Olds homepage.
  15. At least it's not frozen in time with the final Oldsmobile lineup.
  16. If Kirk is looking for more money, my question would be about what he plans on doing with it? Does he want to line his casket with it or something? I suppose he might have a good 20 years ahead of him.
  17. I went to the dealership this morning to get some trim put on the Cobalt's interior door pulls to keep the fabric beneath them from coming loose, which actually didn't come out so bad... But anyway, while I was there I checked out a 2007 Cobalt, with new steering wheel and radio unit. Also, someone at church owns a 2007 Aveo, which I see regularly.

  19. That would explain why the pedal doesn't move when the cruise control is on...
  20. old fashioned slang for "downs syndrome"
  21. Wow, I get the exact opposite impression. I will have to wait to see one though, the pictures so far haven't been the best. Yeah, I don't much at all care for the Civic, and I still think it looks better than this new Sentra... IMO, the profile of the Civic -- and its front quarter windows -- kill its appearance. But that's a discussion for another thread.
  22. That's because the Sentra looks like a tiny Maxima, which looks like a giant ION.
  23. If Carbon becomes an XBox360-only game, I vow never to buy another Need For Speed game for more than ten bucks.
  24. To a huge degree, New York City is using Toyota Siennas for cabs. In the past, they have used the Isuzu Oasis (Honda Odyssey rebadges). And sure, you can make fun of these things all you want, but if they turn out to be far less expensive than standard vehicles while meeting all the demands of a city taxi, then where does it say that they have to look good to go on the road?
  25. Nah, it's probably dropping to 2nd. Honestly all I can ever really see and hear is the RPM, compared to my speed, and make a semi-educated guess.
