  1. Call it the DLS, a la SLS in China.
  2. Hmm, I wasn't aware you could burn soup... Maybe because whenever I cook something I watch it like an obsessed hawk.
  3. The Wii interests me. They had a demonstration model at GameStop and I was naturally curious to try it. Had to ask the guy at the counter for the controller, and I can understand why. It's about the size of a stick of butter and is wireless. The game on the demo station was Excite Truck (read: generic racing title). It was truly novel to use the "Wiimote" - as I call it - as a steering wheel to control the vehicle. The XBox360 has its graphics, and the PS3 has its Blu-ray... but the Wii easily has the greatest potential for this generation. On top of that, it has the lowest price. Spending more than $200 for a video game system is a joke. Sure, the Wii is $50 over that mark, but we'll see how the price fares after a year or so. That said, the new name opens itself up to some terrible jokes. "You gonna go play with your Wii now?"
  4. No one said anything about the return of the Firebird... For that matter I don't think anyone anticipates the return of the Firebird. Though "Firebird" was the very first thing I thought when I saw the pic. And since in the modern day we look at the small car for speed, the Solstice GXP makes a pleasant successor to the ol Screaming Chicken. ...For now.

  7. I wonder what would happen if GM grouped the Cobalt/HHR together... Much like the Corolla/Matrix, the only similarity is the platform. More similar are the Impala and Monte Carlo. Last year it was a joke to group them together, but this year, it's far more reasonable. I'm sure the Solara is already included in Camry sales.
  8. That's intense. The US (and especially the European) companies don't stand a chance.
  9. Some might also use the handles to help them get out of lower cars. Nonetheless, their absence in my car doesn't bother me.
  10. Cimarron. Really, as far as I'm concerned (and a few will agree with me), it stands for Catera. Although.... There is another C-name in Cadillac's history...
  11. I have sigs turned off as it helps me to browse through the posts faster, reading wise. The sigs do not hinder my PC's performance. That said, in agreement with Variance, 9.3mb is indeed pretty damn big for a signature.
  12. No one ever bought the Sebring sedan, anyway. I would like to see how they could pull off making this car into a convertible.
  13. The Corolla isn't very far from beating out the Camry according to this report. Imagine starting to hear that the Corolla is the best selling car in America? Of course, that's only because of help from Matrix sales.
  14. The Aspen looks like a 1998 Ford Expedition. And I've got nothing to say about the Compass because I don't know anything about it. ...Because I have no interest in the vehicle whatsoever.
  15. I agree with this. Slightly unrelated, I don't understand the red states' fascination with the Death Penalty. They're allegedly driven by Christian values, yet they want to kill criminals instead of giving them time to repent. It's not right.

  17. One editorial I've read suggested that middle-class Americans start voting for independant candidates to send a wake-up call to bipartisan government, to focus on real issues rather than the relatively trivial ones. I'm no political expert, but regardless of Lounge rules, I like this thread. Keep it going. The most important thing is that the politicians know that we care. If they continue to see our piss-poor turnout at the polls, they'll continue to not give a crap what we think (speaking for any demographic, but particularly the 18-30 crowd).
  18. That would make an awesome projectile weapon when combined with a catapult.
  19. Maybe Devilbyte will go ahead and fix those random errors the site has been having...

  21. Note the Camaro chop and its resemblance to the recent concept.
  22. It's a nice truck, but no thanks. I get enough junk mail (both physical and electronic) as is.
  23. This exterior, along with an interior update (read: complete redesign) and an optional V8 engine, would make this truck attractive and competitive. My one reservation is, I'm not sure how I feel about those headlights. Strongly agree.
  24. What an eyesore.
