  1. Happy Birthday, you magnificent bastard.
  2. When my wife sees this car... She thinks of this car:
  3. Sometimes I have no choice but to purchase something made in China, due to both product availability and my generally empty pockets.
  4. Ah, so the Enron CEO just got his sentence. I read "Skilling gets fried" followed by "24 years in the slammer" and thought some scumbag from before my time got the chair.
  5. Interesting placement of the stick shifter. And Mustang84, there are some interior bits that wouldn't have been done in the 80s: - Odometer would be analog spinny device - HVAC would be a set of sliding controls instead of knobs. - There would be no cupholders As a side note, why did it take car manufacturers 80 years to realize that drivers might want to have a place to put their drink?
  6. Upstate NY housing falls below $100k more often than not.. Far, far cheaper than NYC's outlying suburbs.

The picture suggests that you might be able to lift that portion of the floor. It may so happen to reveal the rear bench, or it could be additional storage space. Or maybe the crease is there so that the rear flooring doesn't have to be changed. Is it possible to open those rear doors from the outside, or do you have to reach back through the front door to get the handle?
  8. I find humor in this car for having the ginormous bling wheels and a "baby on board" window shade.
  9. If you wanted us to see the whole site, you could have linked to the home page for the site instead of their "Media" section which is - as I said above - seven links relating to the piston slap issue, which is old news -- I mean, OLD news. At least one of those articles is dated 2003. And what's your point for coming here? Are you trying to make converts out of us? "Look, GM cars have problems, buy a Toyota!" Oh, you're SO right. I should, like, totally dump my Cobalt and go and pick up a Corolla. Woo. Exciting. "Get the tC, that's exciting." So exciting that glass will come raining down on me if I hit a pothole? I think I'll stick with the Cobalt. Thanks.
  10. That page is 7 separate news articles related to engine noise... the same SINGLE problem. I don't buy trucks. I could care less. Nice try, though. Next criticism please.
  11. That's not it, he just doesn't want people seeing all the pr0n sites he visited.
  12. It engages the suspension changes at 140mph, and at 190mph it travels through time. 60mph at 2.5 seconds means highway onramps become an unnecessary commodity.
  13. sleeves
  14. Even their emblem is a rip-off of BMW's. Kinda.
  15. beach
  16. I'll leave the rest, but take the wheels, just because it would require a team of trained athletes to steal each wheel without pulling a muscle.
  17. Hey.... Nice lookin car you got there. (Edit: corrected the "wink" emote)

  19. He wasn't a burglar; he was a customer. Apparently he wanted to get that Ford employee pricing on a [Mazda] Camry, and in a fit of blind rage the salesman shot him.
  20. I'd like to relay an anecdote that may or may not come anywhere near this subject. I was watching a documentary about counterfeit money, and a segment followed an artist who would replicate bills valued at $1, $5, and sometimes $10. His medium? Pencil and paper. He would spend hours at a time crafting meticulous detail onto a piece of paper, mimicking every line on a dollar bill. Then, he'd go out and purchase items, maybe groceries or a newspaper. He would take out the bill, present it to the cashier, and plainly state that he had replicated this bill himself, that it is not real money, and asked if the cashier would accept it in place of a real bill for the sake of art. In many cases, the cashier would do just that. I don't really have a point to this story. I'll leave it up to the reader to make his own point.
  21. Look how far back he's parked in that spot. That's the courteous way to park a Smart. Otherwise imagine all the rear end damage from people starting to pull into a supposedly empty spot and then WHAM! Hit a Smart.
  22. Okay. Now THAT is nasty. Is that still a $40,000 car we're looking at? The Impala's interior wins against that, hands-down. Agreed, these are all nicer interiors than the one in the X3.
  23. 24 mpg is with ALL city driving. That was when I would commute to work, which was a 5 minute drive across town along side streets. This route included two red lights and five stop signs, and speeds that almost never exceeded 30mph, with the engine not having all that much time to warm up. This mileage increases greatly if I take any parkway/highway trips, and especially when I take my typical cross-state trek to my parent's house. But that's nothing. I once had it drop to 17 mpg after going WOT from stop sign to stop sign. For the most part I'm just reciting numbers that I've read off of my DIC at any point in time. I never actually tried to calculate my fuel consumption, so I don't know for certain.
  24. Since December '05. It's on a Smart Buy, so until 12/2009 I'm limited to roughly 48,267 miles if I decide I want to trade it in (which I probably will just for the sake of getting something newer).
  25. That would be great for a drag race... as long as the competitor doesn't burn up from the firey exhaust.
