    • One thing that you could do that is very efficient for those that want to go rural.  240V generator. Yes, this means you still burn some gas, but the efficient way of being able to run a very compact small generator and charge up your EV has immense benefits imho. Amazon.com : Gidrox 2500W Portable Inverter Generator, Super Quiet Gas Powered, EPA Compliant, RV Ready, CO Sensor, Parallel Capable, Clean Power for Camping or Party : Patio, Lawn & Garden Amazon.com : Generac 3,300-Watt Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator - Lightweight and Compact - USB Ports for Device Charging - Produces Clean, Stable Power - Great for Home Backup, Camping, and RV Use : Patio, Lawn & Garden Here you could have the right 240V plug to allow charging of your EV which also means you could pretty much go anywhere. Dual fuel means to me I could run it on Propane allowing me to BBQ out camping and still recharge my EV. Now if you want charging equal to a dedicated 80amp L2 charger at your home, then you need a portable generator that can produce 10,000W or 10kW. At that point then they do get a little pricey but are worth it. Amazon.com : Generac 10,000 Peak Watt Portable Gas Generator - Electric Start - Home Backup or RV Ready - Heavy Duty Frame - Quiet, Long Runtime, Emergency Power - 49-State Compliant : Patio, Lawn & Garden Amazon.com : Gidrox 10000W Tri-Fuel Portable Inverter Generator, Gas, Propane & Natural Gas Powered, ATS Ready, 50A Ultra Outlet, Remote Start, CO Sensor, ECO Mode, Quiet Inverter for Home Backup & RV Use : Patio, Lawn & Garden I see this as a flexible solution if you especially go with an EV truck, then just add the generator with a propane tank or gas can into the bed. Alternative ways of thinking about how one charges their EV. Stories where folks cover how to charge your EV with a Generator. • Please test drive one, you will be shocked as to the interior room. The head of the Mach-E program is a 6'2" tall burly man who made it a requirement of having 3 of himself in the back seat, space is good in both the Mach-E and F150 Lighting. I have no problems with the space. My issue is as you know the 400V system.  A used Mach-E is a solid way to go to move into an EV at a much lower price to get used to the changes of EV life. I do not like cats for many reasons and some would turn a person's stomach due to what cats will do.  Dogs on the other hand have a much larger loyalty and would rather starve to death by your dead side than eat you like a cat will. I grew up with dogs and while I have no desire to own one as they are forever babies that have to be fed, cleaned up after, etc. I like my freedom to get up and go any time without having to think about the dog.
    • I truly hope GM reverses this mistake, but they seem hell bent on wanting to control your choices and options, as such, I have truly bought my last American Auto in my 2006 Escalade. Glad to hear you have such great credit as it seems to be a rarity in the south. Yes, higher power is more efficient, and the components last longer. This is why China has standardized for moving to one of two standards by 2030 for all EVs. 1000V or 1,500V It would seem 1000V would be in entry level EVs and 1,500V will be in mid range to luxury EVs. This also goes along with their mandatory charging standards where all EV charging will be one of two forms, 1000V or 1,500V charging. China approves mandatory standards for EV charging - EFS Consulting The benefit here is reduced mass due to more efficient electrical flow on the wiring harness and less heat leading to longer life, longer range and less waste.
    • In doing some basic surfing about pets, I happened onto some gratuitous unpleasant information where, if you were to pass away and there were cats inside the residence who had not been fed, they would start eating your body within about a day. I don't know if a dog would do that ... or if it would take a lot longer for that to happen. I still like cats.  However, this helps confirm that I still like dogs more.
    • I like the response of Dfelt on this, learning something.  My issue would be charging in rural areas. I go a LOT of rural places to hike/bike/camp, and would want to be able to re charge it in middle of nowhere Oklahoma.
