95-97 Neon VS. 95 Civic

Hmm......this is interesting...

My friends ( who would love to set the wagon on fire on roll ot down a hill  )

seem to be car hunting for me, though I'm not too sure why....for a new beater.

So far, they have found a few...

95 civic 4dr, 105k, auto, almost 90% highway, about 1100 bucks...

96 Dodge Neon 4dr, 86k, 900 bucks.....

95 Plymouth Neon (we had one on these! ) 4dr, 92k, needs a starter,

700 bucks o/b/o..

Worth looking at any of these?

I'm not exactly in any rush to rid myself of the ol' wagon (though it is going to need

a bit of work soon)

Though I'm afraid a door might rust off......:lol:

If you're interested, the Civic sounds like the sure bet. It'll just keep running and running.

Plus, you'll be a part of Civic nation! And you can be just like these great Civic Nation citizens!

But seriously, the Civic could be worth checking out. If you do get it, please just don't invest in a massive fart can.

AHHHHH! My eyes! You Hurt my eyes! :P:lol:

True, the civic could run for a while....

There is no way it will become a custom civic.....a bit of audio work, maybe...

Well, Neons are crap. I must admit, I do like them, though. A friend of mine has one with 120-130k or so thats problem free thus far. Very peppy and fuel efficient. And it's purple. Yay. :P

As far as the Civic... well yeah, they were essentially the best compact out there at the time.

Man, you're not joking.....

We had a 95 plymoth Neon...I wanted to roll THAT down a hill....

Any a head gasket goes twice, that's not a good sign.....(any many other things)

But they are so much fun drive...ever take a turn at 40mph and not even have to stop?

Plus, they are quite good on gas, even when they burn a couple quarts of oil a week...I got close to 450 miles on a tank a few times...

I have a love/ hate relationship with then...

wow, 1100 for a civic with low miles like that is nothing for one with that few miles. jump on it! you'll be happy when you're beater runs another 140k miles with only a belt change and regular maintenence.

Civics can be made to look very interesting without making them garish like the ones above.

Civic for reliability during those years, but I would go for the Neon because I hold a preference for Chryslers, and come on, they're so darn cute and chuckable.

As much as I myself would never consider buying a Honda over a domestic, I would choose the Civic or a Neon any day. While I have never had first hand experience but many people I know have and what they say are not good things. My buddy has a 94 Civic (probably the only 22 year old Male who has one that's stock and will stay like it) and it runs really strong.
