For you Cadillac fans, a little sharing of the wealth

WHATTTTTTT the diesels have been dropped????? DAMN...I was looking forward to a diesel CTC.

Could they be referring to a diesel V8, or US applications of the 2.9L V6? AFAIK the 2.9L V6 will be offered on the Euro CTS in 2009.

I live in America, so whatever is available in Europe (but not the US) is completely irrelevant to me.

Umm.... Zeta II?

I thought Zeta was dead?

And no V8?

That'll be a joke. And don't give me any of the V6s are powerful enough or no one will buy a V8 bull$h! either. Hide and watch. At this price point, V8s will still sell and MB and BMW will still be leaving Cadillac in the dust.

Zeta is dead only for the Impala and some other vehicles that were scheduled. Cadillac is still using it because it needs it to survive. GM wouldn't kill the platform after years and years of development. They'll probably figure out ways to cut down on the weight though.

I agree 100%. I rented a CTS yesterday and fell inlove with it. My sneering Audi driving sister in law said "eww" when my son told her I rented a Cadillac. When she saw it, she was impressed. However, if Cadillac wants to become the gold standard of cars once again, then GM needs to at least offer the V8 as an option otherwise it won't be considered by import drivers. For gods sake, ship the cars to dealers with the V6s and have one or two with a V8 on the lot to let people know they can have that way as well. Otherwise as nice as the v6 are, Cadillac will be a joke to others. For me the V6 was fine and the CTS is on my shortlist of cars I want to buy.
