More Lucerne Models?

I think it would be too soon to start piling on extra models especially ones that wouldn't really sell in the US. Buick needs to focus on one model at a time. Besides.. having a wagon, convertable or a coupe on a large, somewhat outdated FWD chasis would be really weird and it probably wouldn't sell. If Zeta comes along soon, we may see more then one variant of one car model but not now.

How about a 3.6 liter 260 hp mid level model starting at around 28K?

Don't forget, the last Gen Riviera was a luxury coupe on this platform... so, it's been done before and GM could do it again.

BTW, as someone said before, the G-platform is not outdated. It's still one of the best FWD platforms out there.

The last gen Riviera would have been an AWESOME LaCrosse... I mean, similar, just better imo.

G-platform is fine, it's the W that is outdated.

I just don't see any additional (in this generation anyway) Lucerne body styles-the CX sure isn't worth $27,000-its worth as much as a base Impala, or $22,000, if not less than that. The interior I saw was so cheap-looking, I thought the cloth upholstery was ripping apart. Thanks Ven for pointing out the last, beautiful 1995-99 Riviera. Edited by Mule Bakersdozen LS

My parents have a '97 Riviera that now has almost 170,000 all-original miles. I'm really impressed as to how solid the car still feels after all these years. The huge and heavy doors still close like they are new. The entire car and materials have held up incredibly well. They also had a '94 Park Ave that they put 250,000 on, but that car felt all loose at that point and the doors sounded like shit when closed. The G-platform is a good one for sure.
