sigs that are just plain too big...

Recommended Posts

There are a few people stepping over some boundaries. Even at 1024x768, which I feel is pretty reasonable, there are some sigs which give me horizontal scrollbars. I have no problem when you guys post big pictures that do this, but when it's the signature, it does it to every damn thread...

:banghead:

Let's try to keep sigs under 750 px wide, shall we?

Generally I keep mine at 600x160. AFAIK that's the generally accepted size of a sig on most forums. Making them taller doesn't hurt too much, but side scrolling is a PITA. I haven't had to worry about that since I went to 1280x1024 at home and 1600x1200 (x2) at work, and I have a 1900x1220 laptop. If it really gets to you, you can always turn them off in your control panel.

Yes... do it for people like me, who only have 800x600 resolution screens. 600 pixels wide means no side scrolling for me. Otherwise, I have to, and it sucks. I think I've complained about this before... Keep 'em under 600, for me, the almighty BV! As I am more special than any of you! :D

Is mine to big?

A bit too wide IMHO.

I'll admit my Sigs tend to be obnoxiously big on occasion but I keep the width to 700 at most. I think we should all stick to the 600 rule from now on. It's a simple request and seems like it's still on the high side compared to most forums.

Wow... thank God... I was worried my sig was too big. Being that my resolution is set to 1920x1200, everything that looks normal to me turns out to be enormous. My friend likes to make icons, and she saw her 100x100 icons and said, "How the F do you read the text on these at this resolution?!" She's used to working on a (read in Arnie voice) girly-nothin 1024x768.
