New model year 2007

Recommended Posts

I was looking through all of the 2007 model guides and it looks like a year of retrenchment...not much new, not much different in the way of colors and trim and virtual duplication of ordering groups/patterns. Say I wanted a telescopic wheel or a folding front bucket seat outside of an option group. It's almost as it they are saying "take it or leave it." Are any juicy new platforms or extensive face lifts due in 2008 or 2009? Good Gawd. Are you feeling the same way - kind of ambivalent about the upcoming model year?

What, you aren't soiling yourself in anticipation of the all-new Pontiac G5??  You've got to be kidding me.

I don't even KNOW what it is. Is it a G6 of sorts? If it's anything like the G6 COUPE, I'll pass!

*nods*

Yeah ... I've been watching the 2007 changes threads ... and nothing seems all that exciting to me.

Then again, I haven't been excited about an upcoming model year in quite some time :(.

Saturns are 07's right? That looks retty good, if you're in the Market for a GMT900, well thing things are good too. There's also the Solstice GXP. Everything else in the GM lineup, sucks (as in nothing new, not taht they all actually suck).

Meanwhile, I'm eagerly waiting to see what the new Sebring/Avenger will look like. Can't wait for the debuts!

I wouldn't say any of the upgrades are "exciting," but some of the cars out are still pretty "new" such as solstice, sky, the redesigned tahoe/yukon, impala, HHR, and H3. People need more than one or two years to notice these cars and consider buying them and 2007 just gives people more time to kind of let these cars grow on them, not to mention new upgrades to the interiors and drivetrains every year doesn't hurt sales. As long as we still keep in contest shape for the foreign competition and the gas mileage of our vehicles is comparable to Toyota, Honda, etc. we don't need any drastic redesign for most models. I'm not expecting every new model year to be full of ground breaking new vehicles, but at the same time I don't want each model to be a complete repeat of its last year, and in 07 I've noticed every vehicle at least received upgrades in some fashion and it satisfies me fine.

I dont really care too much about whats going on right this second. I will be intersted in the 2009 models since that is when my lease expires on the Equinox. Hopefully they have done some things to the Equinox by then because I really like the vehicle. The HHR may be another contender when that time comes.
