Alfa Delays U.S. Return Plans

Posted Image

...for about the hundredth time.

Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat, announced earlier a return of Alfa Romeo by late 2007 but it is now being reported by an Italian magazine that those have now been pushed back until 2010. The reason is not yet apparent.

I heard it was the weak dollar. They want to compete with BMW - or so they say - with cars between twenty & thirty grand.... riiiiiight. Last I heard, that badass Brera would end up being priced fully twice that. Perhaps the good folks at Alfa realize that with Maseratti here, there might not be any more room for an overpriced Italian car company.

Bless 'em if they do come... competition is only a good thing for us customers.

Yeah, the new C6 is stunning. It's so... French!

C6 is ugly as $h!, IMHO

Re Alfa, it's too bad they delayed their return to the US again. The Brera and 159 are very nice looking cars that would look distinctive in US roads.

I like the Citroen C4 Coupe.

I really have to ask, why the hell are all Italian brands so expensive?

I mean, where would the FIAT brand be positioned if there were FIAT, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari, and, Lord knows why, Lancia were all here?

Alfa Breras should be priced starting from $26,000 in the U.S. in my opinion.
