  2. Found this old thread when looking for the type of gearbox in my UK spec 2005 Jeep Cherokee (Liberty in US) Sport 2.8 CRD with six speed manual gearbox...I'm getting more than double the mpg than "The O.C"s petrol powered version...38 US mpg or 45 UK mpg!

  4. With work, I stay in touch w/ colleagues in AZ via email, daily phone calls and Skype messenger (text only). For my teams in India and Barbados it's too unpredictable for video, so we have conference calls, with the occasional WebEx to share desktops. I've been working this way for over a year now, took some adjustment, but since I've been working w/ this team almost 4 years it was a pretty smooth transition.

  5. Finally replaced my iPhone 6..had it almost 3 years...battery wasn't holding a charge, and it was starting to randomly hang/freeze up and not take input from the touch screen. Ordered an iPhone 8 w/ twice the capacity and had it in 2 days, was easy to set up and re-sync everything w/ iCloud. Working great, much better battery life.

  6. The GTO convertible is a '69...sharp. Engine would be a 400. Not sure what green that is, lighter than Vedoro.

  7. Yesterday was an eerily Pontiac sort of day. I saw 4 of them, from bad to stellar, and in that order. 1. A fire hydrant yellow Pontiac Aztek - frightening 2. A navy blue 1964 Pontiac GTO +/- ... it was smaller and squarish than later ones 3. A light metallic gold Pontiac LeMans, maybe 1966 or 1967, with the fins on each side of the rear backlite. It was not a GTO, nor any other type of special named model. I'm going to assume it ran with a 326 c.i. V8 or something like that, prior to the days of the 350 V8. 4. A veritable jaw dropper - a light mint green metallic GTO - 1969, 1970, ? (help) - the front and rear treatment ought to provide those clues. I could not figure out which engine it had ... there was no badge. It had no power equipment (not a problem at all). It had no air conditioning, either (based on the dash climate control module - easy to work on!). And I realized that an operating console that tapers down on the center tunnel without reaching up and touching the dash was sort of cool and minimalistic after all. It really told me that Pontiac should have never been offed. It was GM's most provocatively styled brand across its lineup and there was a place for it, even as a small niche brand marketed together with others at GM dealerships. They caught my eye more than any other GM brand in most cases. Photos:

  8. Yes, I believe it happened the night before and lasted into the morning before we headed out whatever GM preview that was taking place. Let me tell you how happy I was to be on snow tires.

  9. Steam trains "rolling coal" are done for show these days. Back in the day, steam engine crews took pride in running extremely clean fires with very little soot.

  13. Every auto maker is dumping diesel in favor of electric cars. This breaking news is on par with news of water being wet.
