  1. ^ Not looking like wind/sun is the future either ? except massive change always takes massive amounts of time. - - - - -

  2. Total was P-day for car spotting...never know what you will see in garages or driveways when driving through neighborhoods...saw a beautiful dark green '75 Pontiac Grand Ville convertible, rolling top down, white interior. In a garage, saw a clean orange '69 Firebird convertible, top up. Saw a clean white '87-88 Fiero GT in a driveway. And lastly, saw a partially disassembled dusty purple Plymouth Prowler in a garage...

  3. These will always look like toads, with or without the steroids. - - - - - Another Olds Alero today - a gold coupe in near perfect condition - a senior gentleman sitting in traffic along a major artery. Never would I have thought Aleros would have been so long lived when I took one from Spokane, WA to Calgary (AB) Canada and back in the summer of 2003. I also drove through Sandpoint, ID on that trip. Never would I have thought someone as dumb and annoying as Sarah Palin would hail from there ... and have been catapulted to such prominence. Never mind.

  4. this is the sort of wrapper the sedan will need to move to to compete with the perceived usefulness advantage of an SUV. Something significantly larger inside than typical sedans. Note how its cab forward and stretched backend, and possible hatch. long wheelbase, sits a bit taller than sedans now but not so freaking low. This is the direction something like an Impala should go if it survives. Perhaps make it about 2" more tall and add a very good ingress and egress setup.

  5. Stopping at a yummy cafe to eat, got out of the auto and saw across the street this Maverick Grabber. Very clean with the Washington state collectors plate on it. Walked across and checked out this little Grabber with the 302.

  6. Went hiking at Mt. St. Helens, saw the cherry Camaro RS with T tops. Also saw this Tesla 3 parked by my Escalade when I got back. Great they are selling, but wow just looks blah and the fit n finish leaves much to be desired.

  7. M y point was that the base model CTS is very seldom seen nor bought... This is not a bargain hunters segment UNLESS U are talking about a Genesis... which U seemingly try to insult the storied 110 year old brand Cadillac as being comparable enough for them to price as similar. The CTS tho, as an American vehicle does occasionally get service duty.. of course not as prevalent as the 5Series does in its home market. Meaning that a base model CTS (Standard) might be getting some fleet duty where as the 530i skips the comparable model here in the U.S. and gives us a CTS Luxury competitor to start. They don't sell the 520i here.. if they did.. they would start it off at the same price as the CTS STANDARD As to the Variants.. U are preaching to the Pope on this one

  8. Saw a few nice oldies out and about today... a very clean dark blue '86-89 Lincoln Town Car, a clean bright red late 80s Camaro IROC-Z (t-tops off), and a clean dark blue '68 Firebird 400 ht.

  9. I've known about this 'old car' for some years, but this year the tarp shredded itself and revealed what was underneath; a '53 Buick Special 2-dr hardtop.

  10. Let's not forget that the A3 also has a Convertible, and Sportback Plug-In (Wagon) along with that cheaper price. It would be wild if those variants make up the difference in sales

  11. ^ And they're not hot now? It took decades for SUV sales to get where they are now, not months. Cadillac has 3, and the 4th is on the way. Frankly, that's plenty. Stay out of the bottom feeder CUV segment, please, Cadillac.

  12. One Q: how much will the CT4 sell for? And the CT5? If they are too closely priced, then no buyer would ever pick a CT4 since the CT5 would presumably be larger and/or better. Base prices need to be close to 3 series and 5 series pricing but a little lower. This may be a time to remind Cadillac that ONE sedan can take the place of those two, especially since there is no XT7 to take care of the large CUV segment. The only reason Buick has not failed here is because of the Encore and Envision (and to a lesser extent the Enclave). Cadillac needs to do the same quickly and not leave so much money on the table. New sedan sales are falling and customers want CUVs. Keep the CT6 and the Escalade but fill out your CUV portfolio please.

  13. Saw a black late model Chevy Caprice PPV in traffic... I think it was a civilian, not sure..didn't have excess antennas or hidden lights that I could see, and ordinary plates. Interesting how much these look like the '05-13-ish Impalas from behind...
