  3. Man, didn’t even get to see the Blazers there yet...oh well. No matter, today I picked up a 2019 Equinox LS in Kinetic Blue. Posted a few pics of FB, as I get a few more (snowing here now), I will post those bad boys here..... One thing I like about this color is that it gives it a sporty look without the chrome......

  4. This vehicle shows how throwing money at the Alfa problem was not a very good solution.

  5. My son and the daughter of a friend both own one of these..20 plus years later and still going strong. Now if one only had a 70 Lemans from Arizona one could build an wwesome clone and paint it orbit orange.

  6. Here's a lower trim model in Oakwood Metallic.

  7. • The bump up front is a fender-mounted sideview mirror. • I think it looks so 'cab forward/convertible' because the greenhouse is partially obscured due to the high fins/tight tarp. • I need to slide up to it under cover of darkness and feel it up. - - - - - I mentioned this car last month, but got some decent pics today. This appears to be a factory Ram Air III car: the black hood scoop inserts mark RA cars, and they're functional. There is also a pull button under the steering column to open the internal flappers and let it breath outside air- IIRC it was dubbed the 'tiger button'. Block code is correct for the RA III 366HP 400. It's a 4-spd with factory A/C... but the body is horribly, irreparably rotted. Open holes around both rear window, windshield and along the roof rails. Gaping holes in trunk, floorpans, under rear seat. The panel between the trunklid & rear glass is paint over fiberglass- the steel below it is literally gone. Look at the hood "repairs". It's a parts car, unfortunately.

  8. My first thought of what is under the tarp is a mid engined car with a high rear..the cab looks way forward. Or a convertible w/top down? Saw a really clean 82-85 Supra in black today. Haven’t seen one in forever, always liked the angular styling.

  9. Well, the white one in the video is the Premiere, featuring body-color lower cladding. The RS, IIRC one level down from the Premiere, features gloss black painted lower cladding. The lower trims get black textured lower cladding, as seen on the black one in the video.

  10. I do not remember that chrome bar on the front. Exciting they are here, but will have to wait till I see more on them. Was the Sport model, top of the line Monochromatic? ?

  11. Saw today one of the original Lexus coupes at the Park N Ride in excellent shape. They sure are a jelly bean but seem to last.

  12. Heard these on the car radio last night, back to back, on some random classic rock station: 1. 2. Lyrics like: "Last car to pass, here I go ..." "And the line of cars drove down real slow ..." - - - - - I'd put my money on Eddie Money on this combo.

  13. I did not know that California elected Gavin Newsom as its governor. Two actors. Now Newsom. How quickly people forget. When he was the mayor of SF, he was involved in a scandal where he was having an affair with a female employee who was married to his friend and colleague. I'm not easily shocked, hailing from SoCal, but this sort of aligns with 'when someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them ...' He has always seemed smarmy to me. But, onward to music, when George Dukemejian was either running for or was the governor of California, they did a song mocking him called "Walk Like a Dukemejian" which paralleled the Bangles song "Walk Like an Egyptian." I generally don't like reboots for songs, but the Bangles also delivered on "Hazy Shade of Winter" by making it less morose. It was used in the film about rich a-hole SoCal kids living on the edge in "Less than Zero." But, then, in the country genre, Ray Steven's rendition of "Misty" also kicks arse on this romantic standard as performed by Errol Garner (the original) and Johnny Mathis. I've posted "Misty" at some point before.

  14. Randy Newman fell short with his stupid song "Short People" but this one is epic, IMO. It's hilarious that he rolls in some of the more banal streets in this humongous city ... Victory Boulevard, Imperial Highway? WTF? Also, the L.A. of the New Millennium is a lot less happier place than the L.A. of circa 1984. Can't believe I was born and spent 21 of my first 25 years here. Thought I'd always go back there to live someday. That never happened. I got cold feet every time. And it doesn't look like it ever will happen. For one, every one of my childhood friends has moved out of the city and even out of state. So I listen to this song to channel the L.A. that I knew and once loved.
