    His battery is dead.
  2. They'll just try and stretch a Camaro face over it like they did with the Blazer.
  3. There were so many older drivers in Arizona w/ Corvettes..such a stereotype...true here in NE Ohio also. One sight I'll never forget from a few years ago was in Scottsdale...I was sitting at a carwash while my Jeep was going through, see this yellow Corvette C7 Z06 convertible roll up. A guy that looked to be around 80 opens the door, lifts his walker out of the passenger seat, puts it own the ground then drags himself out of the car into a semi standing position w/ the walker... I've sat in C7s at car shows, find them hard to get in and out of at 48.

When I'm waiting in a line, waiting at the airport, or waiting at the doctor--I'm on my phone...what else is there to do in those circumstances but surf the web, read C&G, check email, check Facebook, check my home Ring cameras, check my ADT, etc. I just find it really hard to be 'offline' these days, I've been online for so long... part of that comes from being in IT--I'm on a computer all day for work, so being on my computer, iPad, iPhone in my off hours comes naturally...a few times I don't use my phone is when I'm driving, on a plane (though I'm on my iPad or Kindle then), at a concert, play, movie or other artistic performance. It's fun to disconnect for a couple hours...but longer than that is hard. I have tried going a weekend without internet or phone and it's near impossible.

There are often times I feel like I would like to do that, but there are too many things I need to monitor, not just the latest sports ball scores, but things like tenants and web servers, that it's really hard to take a "vacation" without a phone. My phone plan works in 122 different countries without extra charges too.
  6. Chevy needed this so bad on this car. It looked like such a freakin mess before. The small changes made a world of a difference.
  7. Righttttttttttt ? Our incompetent leadership from the White house to the senate and house that has pretty much destroyed any leadership this country had left in the world with ignorant trade policies that have hurt more than helped the average American in the last 3 years. You can hate either party in the US, but the last time we actually had solid good reaching across the isle to build a budget of living within the means and paying down debt was the 90's. Right, I think the buck board in your buggy needs a new nail. While not everyone will agree with political push in one direction or another, the end fact is that government drive of technology is what has given us some amazing better ways to drive, fly, and live in this planet that needs to be saved from toxic old ways of doing things. EDUCATION IS THE GREAT EQUALIZER!!! Without pushing for the 22nd century and embracing change that looks for the good of the whole rather than the selfishness of the individual humanity flourishes. Global Trade will always have drawback as nothing will ever be perfect as humans are not perfect, yet we can learn to live together in this Multi-Cultural society that can give us so much more by reaching across with best intent and listening and speaking one's mind to find a way to agree to disagree while building better products, better quality of life and enjoying the differences that can give us all a cleaner, healthier planet to live on.
  8. Face it: there is no reason anyone under 35 can afford to buy ANY NEW CAR whatsoever. The median price of a new car is already north of $37K. That is ridiculous! Basically all automakers could stand to build a $12K new car just so that Gen Y and Gen Z will actually buy new cars. Do automakers not realize that a rising median age for a new car buyer means that they are throwing away an entire generation for at least the next decade?! Or do they only care about the next quarter's P&L statements?
  9. Heh-heh...I remember the Sands dealers.. my neighborhood one was Courtesy Chevrolet on Camelback--like their cool signs.. was within walking distance from my house in cool weather. I remember in the winter walking down there and to the Cadillac dealer across the street looking at cars.
  10. I think Tesla made 2 big mistakes. 1. getting way overly complicated on the Model X with the doors - It would have sold just as well without them, possibly at a lower price (higher volume), and it wouldn't have been delayed a year. 2. Doing the Model 3 before the Model Y - That was just a very poor reading of the direction of the product mix out there as far as sedans go. Still build a sedan of course, but the Model Y should have been the priority. I do wish Rivian well, but I wonder if they'll be priced too high to make a big impact on the market. If they price their SUV at the same price as the Model X, they'll probably kill Tesla in sales, but I get the impression that they'll be higher priced than that.
  11. Politics is somewhat necessary when discussion of the rules and regulations of vehicles comes into play, or tariffs, or taxation. I leave a long leash for discussion of the subject because I have the somewhat idealist hope that we can all behave like adults in here, though I am repeatedly proven wrong. So yes, we do allow some discussion of politics in so much as it pertains to cars. Some people here push the limited of that by injecting unneeded political commentary into posts that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.
  12. Fixed that for you. I think that 20 somethings would buy them if they could afford them.
  13. Drove one for a week... I could see out of it just fine. It's actually a very comfortable car to drive once you get into it... it's the getting in and getting out that is an issue. Americans aren't as young as they use to be.

Wait till you learn to search for car parts from it while you're still under the car.....
  15. Because they're using that money to try and revive dead Italian brands. Something over a billion dollars spent on the Alfa platform, and what have they got to show for it?!?
  16. So it’s just better for you to disregard valid arguments (like what Drew said) and create your own narrative so that you can feel better about bashing an American company trying to do business in a nation known for unreliable junk? As as it has already been pointed out, the problem is not whether the Tesla’s there are junk or not. It’s the down time which has jack squat to do with reliability. If you want to cherry pick this because of your blind hate, go ahead. Just don’t expect others to buy into because most folks here know the facts.
  17. LMAO! I witnessed a few of those folks at Sands Chevrolet. I simply don’t get it but I guess 80 year old men need to get laid too.
  18. Fresh on the news that Ford invested $500 million into electric truck startup Rivian in order to gain access to the startup's EV platform, General Motors CE) Mary Barra confirmed that General Motors is working on an EV pickup of their own. This was during an investors earnings call when Barra said GM has "an industry-leading truck franchise as well as EV capability" and that the company "would not cede our leadership on either front". Talks between Rivian and GM were rumored to have broken down over GM's insistence that they have exclusive access to the platform. If that is the case, then there is a possibility that Ford may not be the only manufacturer other than Rivian to use the skateboard platform. Any EV from GM will likely use GM's new BEV3 platform that it plans to unveil in 2021. GM plans for at least 20 all-electric or fuel-cell vehicles by 2023. View full article

I've had to carry two smart phones with me for 19 years now, back when they were blackberries and palm pilots. These days my work phone isn't that important. I haven't been on call in years.
  20. Overall sales for the whole US market were down 2.3%
  21. I think @smk4565 Wants a luxury Hummer rebadged as a Cadillac so he has something real to complain about to offset the terrible G-Wagon.
  22. Jesus iPhone. It’s “because” not “nexuses”. This should really get back to GM and their EV pickup plans.
  23. Holy s-h-i-t people...we are going to do this in every thread????????
  24. EDIT: as a result of olds' downvote, I have seen the error of my ways. I now love Tesla.
  25. My impression of the Chinese billboard was more that they were criticizing Tesla's customer service and long repair times. Cars of every make break down at some point, but 45 days average repair time is unacceptable no matter what brand it is. They'd be putting the same billboard up in Time Square if it was Camrys that were taking 45 days to fix also.
  26. AMG doesn't offer a manual transmission.. I'd hold off on the public having a pulse quite yet. Looking at those numbers... everything is a weak spot. The only vehicles that weren't down were vehicles that only sell hundreds a month anyway.
  27. Funny you say that... My partner's TESLA Model S is has over 100 000 KM (over 60 000 miles) and other than a couple of recalls (3-5 recalls), nary an issue too... To keep this in perspective...my own Acura has had 2 or 3 recalls to which one of them was silent...but the TL is very reliable... My wife's Fusion...I literally cant count them on both of my hands as I think the recalls exceeded 10...but the Fusion, other than front brake rotors being changed prematurely because they warped (prematurely|), very reliable too... Anecdotes are fun..arent they? But you have hidden agendas , and you become hypocritical when discussing things...
  28. Chrysler needs product. Jeep and Ram are thriving because they actually have new product. Chrysler will too if given the chance.
  29. @smk4565 - Just letting you know where the big sales drops can be found.
  30. Dodge is the everyman brand Chrysler is the premium brand like a cross between Buick and Lincoln. Fiat - kill in the US Alfa - Merge with Maserati Maserati - Ultra luxury brand Ram - Trucks Jeep - just be jeep.
  31. Here’s the non-story regarding the Times Square message. Never take seriously, a Chinese company criticizing someone else’s quality. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mashable.com/article/tesla-iunicorn-chinese-ride-hailing-repair-costs-billboards.amp
  32. The problem was he wanted to dump the wrong brands. He wanted to save the Italian brands and kill off the american ones except Jeep.
  33. A Chinese ride hailing company bought time to advertise on New York's Time Square TV screens slamming Tesla for poor customer service and lost revenue. And the message was written in...Chinese...
  34. Toyota is down 40,000 units just year to date!
  35. Only in the most technical sense, yes it is down. However, given that the year over year loss is less (percentage wise) than the majority of ICE autos out there, it means nothing. It doesn’t mean EVs are crap. It doesn’t mean that no one wants them. It literally means nothing.
  36. I don't see why people buy the Bolt... but people still do.
  37. Making it an all electric with such a tiny range really extra double dog did them in. 58 miles is pathetic. Electric lawnmowers run longer than that.
  38. Bye Bye SMART. No buyers = no sales. NOBODY in the USA wants a subcompact car. NOBODY. IF BMW was smart, they would either electrify the Mini Cooper or stop selling them here. At least Mini Coopers had a USP that people bought into. Smart never did.
  39. Yes, a few people will buy it. And in a few years, more people will buy it.
  40. @smk4565's goal posts are elusive, hard to pin down creatures.
  41. Apparently Rivian wants to put chargers in "active lifestyle" locations.... so parking for trail heads, ski resorts, stuff like that. Places where you go and stay a while anyway so you don't mind if your vehicle is nursing on the grid while you head down a black diamond.
  42. Cadillac's flagship is and has been the Escalade for more than a decade. I still think Cadillac's strategy is going to be offering the largest vehicle in a price class. The CT5 aligned against the 3-series, the CT6 aligned against the 5-series, etc.
  43. Should have been this way from the beginning IMO.
  44. 1966. The original.
