A couple months ago the fiance' got rear ended in her 2005 G500. Everybody was okay, that I know of. The rear-ender I think went to the ER but we never heard anything after. I don't believe it was anything serious. Anyway, it was enough to total her G500. For better or worse that thing is a tank. They were all sore the next few days, as with most any accident but for getting hit at about 40-50mph while standing still(they were waiting to turn left on a two-lane road) it held up almost as if it hadn't been smoked from behind. Well, she got an Outlander as a rental almost two weeks later. Their insurance company was being a huge pain in the @ss. Somewhat ironically, when I got in my accident the same company was extremely efficient and easy to deal with as a victim and making a claim against them, State Farm. It was alright, I never got to drive it as I wasn't the one who rented it or had my name on it and I never really needed to but I rode in it a couple times. It's an alright vehicle. There were 2-3 times in the two times I was in it thought that the transmission wouldn't upshift and I had to most it to "Sport" then back to "Drive" to get it up upshift. That was weird. Anyway, so the insurance company ended up totaling the vehicle. 234,000 miles and I would say it was only in "okay" shape at that point. They gave her $40,000 for that thing. I was expecting $20-25,000 after looking at them online. So that was a pleasant surprise. Bought for $55,000 and ten years and almost 200,000 miles later got $40,000 for it(bought used). So I know she is a huge Mercedes fan and likely wouldn't want anything else. I tried getting her to look at anything modern and SUV they offered for her. She ONLY wanted an SUV. She also ONLY wanted boxy.. you can probably see where this is going.. I really tried to get her into either a GLC or GLE as they are much better all around vehicles than a G Wagen. Well, her heart was already set on another G Wagen. She simply doesn't like how anything else looks. Well, she got another G Wagen. 2011 G55 AMG with 39,000 miles for $59,000. We had to make a trip to Chicago for it(about 4.5 hours each way). We rented a Buick Encore so we didn't have to take two vehicle home and I have a buddy who is a regional Hertz manager so we got the vehicle for only $78 after everything(insurance, prepaid gas, & taxes) which was considered two days but I believe we only had to pay for one. It is pretty much the same thing she had before but more badass. 5.4L Supercharged V8, 500hp/516tq. The thing scoots for such a big and heavy girl. I have the female vehicle and she has the manly vehicle, Hahaha I'll upload pictures in a comment. I actually don't have any pictures of the new one other than the ones I took off the dealer's page a day or two after she bought it. Accident + rental Encore(missing the grille emblem) The “new” G55 AMG. They’re screen shots so probably piss poor quality, sorry.3 points

Ignore it! That is just branches breaking against the Jeep! Or is that the Jeep breaking against the branches? ? FCA can never tell. ?2 points

Death Wobble is a request free fix? WRONG ANSWER FCA! ? Improper Frame Welds reminds me of the Toyota mess on the FJ Cruiser with the Unibody braking after people took it to the sand dunes for play and the front ends broke or cracked and Toyota would cut off the front and insert rods of steel and re-weld it. Nope again wronge answer Toyota too. Sounds like FCA is cutting corners a bit too much.2 points

That could be a low cost EV Rogue if Nissan wanted to do that.1 point

KBB never looks at supply and demand, from what I can tell. The more rare, unique, older, the more and more off KBB gets.1 point

Damn son you are a big boy. I work out 3 days a week and have a pretty strong core and good tone 6'3" 225 but not stocky I was a lanky bean pole kid ? Ah a C7 ZR1 and a Ferrari 812 Superfast that would be a great race and fun to be a part of! ????1 point

But are you thick with muscles? That is where I run into space issues, is most sports cars and the Corvette seems to be no different is not built for thick, big guys. My sports / suit jacket is a 60, so my shoulders tend to have issues also. Trust me you would hate to be in the seat next to me on a plane. I eat up space faster than a Ferrari attempting to catch the tail lights of a ZR1 Corvette.1 point

What were you butt hurt about?? I have long legs too and avg. torso don't really have a problem at 6'3" guess I'm lucky I stopped growing haha. I like the seat pretty much all of the way back anyway and long arms reach the wheel just right The C8 seems pretty good sitting in it, but does seem smaller and a bit lower roof panel too, but they do have an alcove for helmets on both sides on the inside of the targa top so it's not too bad and talk about tech laden, wow.1 point

Better seats were in the Escalade five years ago versus right now? I hope that the 2021 Escalade (and all Cadillac vehicles) radically step up in the seat game.1 point

Update on the CTS: Not much to update. Everything has been working well. I don't calculate out mpg on this car but going by the VIC it gets around 27 mpg in the summer and maybe 25.5 mpg in the colder months. This is probably around 75% interstate but seeing as this is Michigan and we only have 2 seasons: winter and construction, it spends a fair amount of time stuck in traffic jams. It has never been on a trip since we always take the wife's minivan and I a mileage limited on my lease. The car is very enjoyable to drive, handles very well and the 2.0T is plenty powerful for this car. It does have the occasional weird trans issue when the car is cold where it seems like it is slow to go into drive and then slams into second but that only happens occasionally and only once on a given drive. While I never lived daily with the old CUE system, the times I tried it I hated it. I can report it is vastly improved and actually works very well now. Uconnect is still better but this isn't too far behind any more. Even the capacitive touch buttons work on the first try now for the most part. I do still have the occasional flaky ghost in the machine type problem but that is to be expected with pretty much all modern infotainment systems. Still kind of wish I had bought a used V-Sport instead of leasing this 2.0T but outside of it not having the 3.6TT, I really don't have too many complaints.1 point

I don't think this is an issue with the GC. It apparently has something to do with vehicles with a solid front axle... so the GC is safe.1 point

Yeah, not surprised here. For all the hype over the Wrangler over the decades, one thing had never changed. They are notoriously unreliable and now they are overpriced to boot. I understand why some folks defend them (for their off road prowess anyway), but you literally could not even give me one, even if it was brand new. Hopefully this fix helps those who paid way too much for it.1 point
