  1. Those “shifts” will just go to other Asian countries. With very rare exceptions, they sure as hell are not coming here.

  2. Problem is, you can't avoid products or components of products made in China or Asia...with multinational companies and the supply chain, most any consumer product that is electronic or plastic is likely manufactured partially or fully somewhere in Asia, likely in China...that is the reality of the truth and isn't changing anytime soon, as companies always look for the lowest cost source of components...40+ years of globalization isn't changing anytime soon. As much as some people pine for the world to be like 1699 or 1950 or 1960 again or whenever their idealized era is, it isn't happening...

  5. Not only a blissful post about China, but then a downvote for calling it out. Despicable at this moment in time. The pits!

  6. But the replacement part is only $600 dollars. This was just a blow off repair, but I wonder how bad the rest of the auto was crashed and just as cheaply repaired. I agree with you that it was probably a totaled Hellcat repaired on the cheap and an attempt to sell high. I see 747's every day still as clearly Boeing is still bringing in parts for new plan production and of course, UPS and FedEx use the 747 for freight out of Pain Field north of my house.

  7. You can bet your bottom dollar there won't be one red cent of my money going to help China if I can help it. Very offensive post right here.

  8. RE the ‘5 myths’ above: 1. Would like to see specified data. 2. That’s not an actual myth. 3. VW’s announced ID.3 MSRP is the exception. The vast majority of ‘like’ EVs to ICs have significant initial price differences, and if we’re going to ise the same metric as myth 5 [average time of new car ownership], that myth is almost always TRUE. 4. Range & charging infrastructure still pales in comparison to fuel stations and many car’s ranges. ‘Average daily miles’ is a strange forced metric. 5. Battery pack life -again for the forced metric of initial buyer- may well be fine, bit the vehicle assumedly is going to pass to 1 or 5 more owners. What then?

  11. All this talk about flying....and I have never flown before in my 40+ years of life. Sucks, as I was going to take my first flight in a few months before this all happened.....
