  1. Pretty incredible how much the styling changed in a decade, compared to the space monster styling of the '61.

  2. '70 Chevy '350' = 349.8 CI '70 Pontiac '350' = 354.7 CI '70 Olds 350 = 350.07 CI '70 Buick '350' = 349.3 CI 3 of them are right on the money, but Pontiac certainly could've billed theirs as a '355' (I think they should have). '70 Chevy '454' = 454.1 CI '70 Pontiac '455' = 456.1 CI '70 Olds '455' = 454.4 CI '70 Buick '455' = 455.2 CI One of the big differences on the Buick 455 is that it was 'over square'- with a bore of 4.31" and a relatively short stroke of 3.90". These were the largest pistons & the shortest stroke of the 4 big blocks above. A shorter stroke gives you faster piston speeds at the same RPM, which is partially how the Buick had the highest (rated) torque of the four big blocks (510 TRQ in '70).

  4. We'll never see that degree of change in a 10-yr span again (and haven't for about 30 years running).

  6. • Ride share & subscription programs have been tried by numerous brands; consumers don't want them. • The vast bulk of Tesla's existence has been "sustaining losses". • Stock is only a paper asset. It's a loan that is payable upon demand, with no advance notice or conditions.

  7. rest of vacuum lines & acceleration linkage disconnected, all intake bolts removed. Took off valve covers to give a bit more room to work at the seam between the intake & the heads, did some prying, no budging yet. Under valve covers showing grayed, mostly-hardened sludge. Makes me feel better about pulling the motor.

  8. If you aren’t losing money because the value holds / appreciates, you’re no fool. Interesting statement, coming from you.

  9. '61 300-Gs have sold for well over $200 grand, so it's a lot more than merely the designer that loves them. ?

  10. ^ Yes, the # of dealerships figures are switched. Yes; Tesla's stock is terrifically over-weighted. What's interesting is that Tesla has 50% of GM's employees but only builds 7% of GM's volume.

  11. The only car I could tell who was driving was the Porsche. And like you, it was a Boomer. A 70-ish year old man. He looked good and proud driving it. He deserved a high five from me! ?

  12. Maybe true, for today's world. Performance metrics are thrown out the window. I wonder how long that kind of debauchery will last though. Last time I checked, sales derived profits are what makes a business, any business, stay alive... I wonder when all that imaginary money dries up, and there are no more idiot investors trying to make a quick buck STOP the money faucet, I wonder what all those Wallstreet up sellers and short sellers and fast money makers and con artists and thieves and get rich quick scammers and shyte disturbers and filth of the earth will do? Tesla is not going anywhere. But they might NOT be an EV producin' entity though, if they do NOT give the world a gen two Model S and Model X and gen two Model 3 and Model Y. The Ford Mach E is getting conquest sales from Tesla... So when YOU are tooting Tesla's stock market number right now, but when GM and VW and others start rolling their EVs Tesla is still rolling with their gen one Model S, Model X, Model 3 and , It wont mean much and Im afraid Wallstreet WILL have to start lookin' at sales performance stats again... Tesla IS ahead of everybody else in EV tech. Mostly in software programming of the battery metrics. But THAT gap is QUICKLY closing from what I see Ford is doing (with the Mach E) and what GM is capable of doing with the Hummer EV. By the time the full on EV Corvette comes on about, Im thinking that is when GM would have surpassed Tesla's tech. I keep on saying it, shyte on GM all you want, but the Corvette is proof positive of what the General is capable of doing. And even Tesla hasnt accomplished what the C8 has both in terms of speed performance (The C8 is on the Model S' heels on a BASE model), mass production on an extremely expensive architecture AND turning a profit on it... You know...what Wallstreet stock prices SHOULD be judged on... In no time, GM will have plenty of EV models... doubling and almost tripling Tesla's offerings. And then what do we talk about concerning Wallstreet types wanting to see EVs and yelling from the rooftops Tesla Tesla Tesla???

  13. Maybe the biggest change after the FWD and aero shift was the last 25 years where we have seen the rise of SUVs and CUVs to market dominance, pushing aside traditional 3 box cars... Will the current decade be the decade of a big shift to EVs?

  14. Have to say, this truck holds a special spot in my heart, the Original Chevrolet Silverado 454 SS. So motor trend talks to one of their photoshop folks telling them to stay true to the formula of what a modern day version of the bad boy above would look like. Chevrolet does not sell the standard cab in the US market, it is sold elsewhere in other global markets and GM has the 6.2L V8 that would be a superior replacement to the 454 engine to put in this new bad boy. This does make me wonder if a modern electric SS could happen now that we have the Hummer SuperTruck EV. A Modern Chevy Silverado 454 SS? Here's What It Would Look Like (motortrend.com)

  15. The changes from 1980-1990 was pretty drastic with the FWD-ification and downsizing. Not as much of a styling change, but compare the differences between say a 1980 Grand Prix and a 1990 Grand Prix. Going back further, with those Plymouths the styling difference from a 1951 to 1961 was quite drastic, as was from 1941 to 1951.

  18. A beauty! Esp in that (looks like) Firemist Green... tho I so wish Cadillac had continued the hardtop model past '60. 1 of only 1,870 built. It's interesting- it's wearing one-year only '56 wheelcovers, which require '56 rims. Someone really wanted them! It's a gorgeous cover (I have one in my collection); the radiused 'fins' reflect on the center portion, and make it looks, sort of, like a spoked rim.

  20. Awesome Donation, a private citizen donated his immaculate 1964 Eldorado convertible in mint condition to help fund the local fire department. The auto will go on auction April 22nd. Hopefully they get an above market price for this beautiful lady for such an awesome cause! 1964 Cadillac Eldorado In Rare Condition To Be Auctioned For A Good Cause (motorious.com) QUOTE: This classic Cadillac features a green exterior finish over a white wood grain accented interior, a black convertible top, and V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. While it is not a 100-percent original example, as is this car would make for a good daily driver or an even better survivor quality base for a restoration. Recent service includes four new tires, a cleaned out fuel system, and a replacement convertible motor. Lending a hand to the car's current condition is the fact that it has been in storage for the past 30-years. 100-percent of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the Williamsport Volunteer Fire & EMS in Williamsport, Maryland to help these selfless volunteers purchase, maintain, and operate emergency life-saving equipment.

  21. My absolute, top favorite muscle cars from the late '60s to early '70s. Im doing 1 year for each brand. And each brand gets only 1 model. In the exact trim and colour combo as I post them 1969 Camaro Z/28 302 1973 Pontiac Trans Am SD455 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 (WITHOUT the vinyl top) 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator CJ428 http://fastmusclecar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Cougar-Eliminator-dfgfg245.jpg 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 six pack 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Hemi

  25. OK, that may well be what was meant. Only reason I'm wondering is- '1 million units in the U.S. by GM by 2025' is awful ambitious; seeing's how they sold 2.9 million in 2019 AND the Lyric isn't due until fall of '22 and is only the 2nd GM BE. Hummers aren't going to contribute much in the way of volume... so 1. where's all the product to achieve this, and 2. will consumers buy them?
