  1. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2022-lucid-air-vs-mercedes-benz-eqs-electric-luxury-car-comparison-test-review/ The Lucid wipes the floor with the Mercedes in the aesthetics and powertrain categories. "Things continue to diverge on the performance and drivetrain front, but each for its own purpose. The 2022 Mercedes EQS580 4Matic shuttles silently via dual motors—one front, one rear—fed by a battery with 107.8 kWh of usable power, offering a stellar combined 516 hp and 631 lb-ft of torque. These twin spinners have more than 5,800 pounds to scuttle, but there's enough shimmy between them to slingshot the EQS580 from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and down the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. It's no Tesla Model S Plaid, but who gives a hoot? This is more speed than anyone remotely interested in the type of drive the EQS offers will ever need. If the Mercedes is a Germanic bullet train, the Lucid is the Concorde. In this as-tested Grand Touring trim, it's the same twin-motor setup as the Benz, only with 800 hp and 885 lb-ft from its 113-kWh battery pack. This predictably leads to a low, low 0-to-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 10.8. Again, neither of these big-ass luxo sleds are sport sedans, so any time quicker than 5.0 seconds is just icing. On the all-important subject of range, it's a total bloodbath. The most careful Mercedes EQS580 drivers will manage a strong 340 miles before plugging in, a figure that pales in comparison to the Lucid Air Grand Touring's record-setting EPA-certified 516-mile capability. You don't have to spring for a bigger battery, either; all Air Grand Tourings come packed with this capacity, and even the wheeziest, weakest of the Lucid range covers a stonkin' 406 miles between charges."

  2. Flying in an A380 is definitely a thing I wanna do. (I despise the term 'bucket list' so Ill refuse to call it that...) Unfortunately, Air France had long since stopped flying it (2014 being the last year I think) for Paris-Montreal directs flights and I dont think British Airways will do London-Montreal anytime time soon with the A380 either... Early early reports are saying that Omicron wont be that severe. Hoping that it wont be. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-59463879 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/28/omicron-covid-variant-spreads So this is reverse fear from the media and politicians? Hurry, lets starts conspiracy theories because media and politicians are saying NOT to worry...when we damn well know they put fear to sell to us and control us...

  3. Why do I feel like I'm watching the beginning part of "Live and Let Die?" They can't do stuff like that anymore. Not P.C. But my friends and I sure liked it. - - - - - On a different note, some good news for plane buffs: You can realistically fly on an Airbus 380 in the near-term future. And you don't have to be flying Emirates, Singapore, or Qantas to do so. British Airways has it on the MIA-LHR (London Heathrow) schedule. You don't need to be going to London (and I wouldn't necessarily want to, since they drive on the wrong side of the street and it can be hazardous to cross the street with an American frame of mind), but you can take it elsewhere to Europe. I thought it might be back on the JFK-LHR route. Instead, they are running several 777s a day on that route.

If I was in my 50s and a millionaire in the 1970s thanx to a publication that Id publish every month featuring naked girls and in the middle of the magazine would be THE star feature naked girl >the centerfold< The nicknames Id give to these naked girls would be 'bunnies'. I wouldnt be a dirty old man but an eccentric millionaire. Excalibur

  5. Reading elsewhere that LG Chem's past production woes greatly affected Daimler's initial electric 'Tesla-killer' EQC production. Slated to build 25,000 units for 2019 and desperately leaned upon to cut corporate carbon emissions (or face a 1 billion Euro fine), Daimler only managed to produce 7,000 units. Ironically, in it's home turf of Germany, only 55 EQC's were sold. For 2020, the projected volume was to be 60,000 units, but the same issues then dropped that projection to 30K. This was from a Jan 2020 article. Through 3 quarters of 2021, Daimler has only managed to sell just under 18,000 EQCs, for an annual pace of 24K units.

  6. The money they want for it is also an insult, especially since it's so far from being stock.

  7. It is rather easy to fall in love (or out of love) with a car that inspires so much passion in anyone.

  8. Why would anyone put a Rolls-Royce grill and front on a Chevy Monte Carlo? It's an insult to both RR and the MC.

  9. Ferrari's latest V12 Which is basically this one but is in the company's latest mid-engine supercar. I dont find it stunning anymore. My love affair lasted a whole 24 hours. When I first saw it on the interwebs yesterday, I was awed. I had time to take it all in but now I realize, it just a blob. I like the bulbous fenders, but that is all I like. That V12 though

  10. Thanks! Yeah- after being married almost 20 years (together for 25) I thought I would be totally destroyed. But she inspired us to do better- something we want to honor her with. I still have my moments (expected of course) but I am getting stronger every day. What surprises me now is all the attention I seem to be getting. Very strange, as I am not looking for it. Good news is I drive everything in my fleet…so nothing sits for too long. And my son still amazes me every day…he is so much like his mom!

  11. As I understand it, you are on the hunt for a truck while chicks are on the hunt for you! Cool! Im happy for you that you could find joy being with your son. I believe you when you say its not easy being a single dad. Im also glad that your son has been able to cope with losing his mom so young. You'll have to (or your son...) will eventually have to buy a car for himself. The Trax I take it, is a good reliable ride. No need to give it up. You will have to drive it from time to time so it doesnt sit in your driveway and rot. But that is a good thing as you minimize wear and tire to both of your cars. Id say its a good idea to keep the Trax. Thanx for chiming in. Happy Thanks Giving to you!

  12. Hi guys- Been a bit busy- not easy being a single dad now with two jobs and a 13 year old to take care of. We’re hanging in there, and staying out of trouble. ? Well, kind of….. Bought out the Equinox- and it’s doing just fine. Even after the local dealerships have bugged me to turn in the Trax after she passed-it’s still sitting in my driveway. My son would like it as his first car (since it was Mom’s) so i might buy. it out as well…. Also not expecting to attract women- guess things have changed a bit. Have gotten some really interesting stuff on IM’ed on facebook to me. Not really looking, but yet they find me…. ? Also on the hunt for a classic Truck……. Hoping everyone Is doing well!
