  1. That's not an opinion, The literal responsibility in the public sector is ethical management of funds- the problem is there's no accountability unless the mismanagement is blatantly criminal.

  2. The EQS has a HEPA filter in the front. The EQS has hospital operating room quality air on the inside, which other cars do not.

  3. I agree with your last statement, which is why I posted primarily in the form of questions. Those that are implementing (or contemplating implementing) rigid bans don't have any answers either, which is why I've always said pre-emptive long-term bans are idiotic.

  4. Philosophically speaking... Who in power and in charge with massive amounts of money, regardless if that person in charge is from the private sector or public sector, does NOT 'mismanage' money? In the private sector, isnt that called fraud? And there are many forms of financial fraud to boot? Not putting up a fight with you regarding your statement, just philosophically speaking and acknowledging that when it comes to money : And yeah...mismanagement of public monies by different levels of government IS thievery in my honest opinion...

  5. I got the visual!!! Imagine trying to clean out the outside air of a city's downtown core? How long would a HEPA filter last by cleaning out the air for everybody? What about the surfaces? The air might be clean but are the surfaces clean as well? Does a HEPA air filter system clean the surfaces. Surely no bacteria lives on surfaces that we touch in our cars. The dashboard, the steering wheel, the seats we sit our asses on... So much wrong with a marketing campaign focusing on a HEPA air filter system in a damned car. A car???!!! Perhaps one of THE most dirtiest things we touch on a daily basis due to the fact that we dont wash our hands nearly half as much as we should, even during COVID times, eating and having crumbs and coffee spill and sauce from Big Macs fall, or slush during winter, driving around in cities where smog exists and a car is not hermetically sealed. Like not even 1% hermetically sealed... Leave it to the Mercedes fanboi to toot toot toot such a useless marketing bullshyting campaign...

  6. You're here trying to tell me that a government-funded entity is mismanaging public money?!? The nerve you have.

  7. So it's actually about $5,000 cheaper than a Model S. Well, I guess Tesla's cheapest Model S currently has a purchase price of $94,990 so more like $17,000 cheaper. It looks like there is no 2WD Model S anymore, or at least for the time-being. Can you imagine rolling around with the windows down or the sunroof open?!? THEY'D BE CLEANING THE AIR FOR EVERYBODY!!!

  8. Once you open the door or window and...POOF! There goes the hospital operating room quality air on the inside...

  9. Agree, big oil will lose influence over time. And Wall Street is all about EV, that's where the money goes, the legacy auto makers see a company like Rivian or Lucid who have sold about 7 cars between the two of them valued higher than Ford by the investor community. Thus legacy auto maker shareholders tell the board they need to make EV's or else they are going to pull out and give their money to Elon.

  10. Moderna and Pfizer both say your are at your maximum in anti-bodies for fighting Covid after 14 days. CDC says the following: “The booster shot will have a similar response as the second dose of the primary series. The highest antibody level will be around 10-14 days and then things will level off. The antibody levels will decline as it would with all vaccines, however the boosters help to stabilize the antibody levels,” Both my wife and I had no affects from the Booster nor the original 2 shot vaccine. Was a little tired the initial night and went to bed early, but fine after that.

  12. Maine sees issues with meeting their emissions goals. Here's some bar-napkin math. An estimated 50%+ of ME's emissions are from the transportation sector. ME has 1,000,000+ vehicles registered, and they want to drop emissions by 45% in 8 years. In order to drop emissions by 45%, they would have to replace 45% of the existing 1,000,000+ vehicles with BE's. That would be 450,000 brand new BE's that REPLACED existing IC's. The entire U.S. only bought 295,000 BE's last year. Goals are all well & good, but you do your cause a disservice if it's wildly out of reach.

  13. Interesting question, tho the answer is probably 'it varies from person to person'. Got our boosters yesterday. I've had no issues now (1.5 days after), wife had marked soreness at injection site and her joints ached. She took ibuprofen today and went to sleep early.

  14. I just learned from a friend that their elderly parent, approaching 80 and "immunocompromised" in a way, is in the hospital with Covid, with some really bad vitals during the days preceding the admission. My friend and I have different ideologies, but we do the best we can to keep the friendship going. While I already sort of knew the answer, I asked if the elderly parent had been vaccinated, since they would have gone to the top of the list back then. I got the answer that 'you know that my parent wouldn't do that' and stated they 'are glad they didn't get the vaccine.' This person will be in the hospital during Christmas and I do wish them a speedy recovery, with few side effects and long-term effects. How about having taken the vaccines back then, not being in the hospital at this time, and not running up an inpatient hospital bill? I've heard this once before. Some middle aged dude in Louisiana or thereabouts was in the hospital with Covid, had tubes in his nose, and was proclaiming that it was 'worth it to not take the vaccine." Is this a new form of martyrdom? Who's the patron saint for this one? I'm not following. I just went from a Tuesday appointment to a Monday appointment by hunting around on the pharmacy site. I may even try the afternoon walk-in window of time tomorrow to see if I can get it then. And how long for the injection to kick up some serious antibodies and theoretically have you toward your optimal level to fight off any infection?

  15. I have friends in Boulder Colorado who got it very early in the pandemic, just before things started getting locked down. They were sick for a month and pulled through, however a year later they still have after effects. This is a very healthy couple who would get out and exercise regularly and go hiking in the mountains. These days they get winded climbing up the one flight of stairs to their apartment. As far as I know they haven’t had any chest X-rays, but there’s plenty of evidence that they’ve suffered long term/permanent lung damage. They’re the same age as me.
