Disclaimer: I had a Karen enter the restaurant today. Had to kick her out, forcibly. My rant above regarding plant based vegan burgers, although this is how I truly about vegan people and plant based vegan burgers, maybe the rant could have been more on a friendlier tone. I was still fuming about it. Im proud to say, Im not fuming anymore.2 points

Damn right! But.....if one wants to be vegan, then be vegan for phoque's sake. None of this fake meat burgers that are so called plant based but have so much sodium in them to taste like meat. <Dudes and dudettes out there that want to be vegan> especially those that want to be righteous about it... I got a phquing message for you: EAT YOUR VEGGIES and NEVER YOU MIND THE FAKE-NESS OF PLANT BASED MEAT FLAVOURED ANYTHING!!! Im a meat eater through and through. But Im NOT a carnivore. (no human is actually) Im an OMNIVORE!!! I EAT all KINDS of veggebles.... I LOVE all KINDS of veggebles. I dont WANT my vegetables to taste like meat. A little bit of olive oil and lemon juice goes a LONG phoquing way for MY vegetables to taste good. And there is COUNTLESS of OTHER ways that Greek cuisine lends to for vegetarian dishes... LEARN to eat THOSE kinds of veggie cuisines and STOP THE BULLSHYTE OF LYING TO ME THAT YOU ARE A VEGAN/VEGETARIAN THAT WE HAVE SHYTTY CORPORATIONS INVENTING SHYTTY WAYS TO MAKE A SO CALLED PLANT BASED VEGAN BURGER!!! PS: If ANY self righteous vegan moron wants to try me, try me!!! I CAN go on an all vegan diet. I LOVE GREEK CUISINE that is on the vegetarian side. Not a problem for me to do so. But I dont believe in ANY foolish vegan ideology therefore I will continue to be an omnivore...2 points

Wife and I tried the impossible Whopper and found it to be impossible to finish eating. Not sure what people see in this terrible tasting fake meat sandwich. Pass, if I am going to eat meat, gonna eat meat. I have always tried the various meatless patties, hotdogs, etc. Not found a one worth spending additional money on or time to eat.2 points

Not a BK fan... I don't eat burgers that often, but I do like a McD's Quarter Pounder w/ cheese and bacon. I miss In n' Out and Habit Burger from living in AZ. Not eating nearly as much red meat as I once did, but I did have great steak from Morton's on Sunday.2 points

Good information to know but this did take almost two years longer then the legacies that were struggling immediately once COVID hit. It sounds like a mess, to be honest. I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of that crap. For as good as it seems to be reviewed, there's certainly holes in the programming/software/hardware that NEED to be addressed. You say Tesla's stock is getting hammered but it's currently juuuust above where it was trading a year ago, so it's only getting hammered in the short term. Rivian on the other hand, has gotten smoked since its IPO. FYI, not an investor in either company but I'd like to get in on Rivian at some point. I believe they'll be around for the long haul. Not red meat vs red meat is worth the 90 calories, IMO. I looooove me some hamburgers and steaks but red meat is not very good for us. Also, after looking further into the burger situation, I'm not seeing a 540 calorie Whopper. https://company.bk.com/pdfs/nutrition.pdf2 points

That’s an excellent, though very different point. I think you’ll see many manufacturers shorten their supply chains either by moving some production in-house or by insisting suppliers build more on the continent of use. It’s a huge reason why Intel is building a brand new chip plant in Ohio. And LG is expanding in Michigan. however, that’s different than having automotive production lines.2 points

4 electric motors 4 doors 2 modes (sports sedan/sedate sedan software programming) (It hunkers down like a Tesla in Cheetah mode accelerating, but stays there for a low center of gravity for sport sedan shenanigans. But the other mode's programming, the height and suspension tuning is pillowey soft but confident for luxury isolation heaven-ness.) (air suspension is standard equipment...obviously to make all this happen) AND another variant 4 electric motors 4 different stances (hunkered down like a modern 2 door sports coupe, lifted rear like a 1970s muscle car, lifted front end like a gasser, lifted on all 4 corners to be used as an off roader. 4 wheeel drive, right with 4 electric motors on each wheel? Of course the relevant tires for each mode are to be bought separately) (air suspension is standard equipment...obviously to make all this happen) 2 door coupe1 point

Yet even Musk has been very clear now on his twitter feed that supply chain issues is hitting Tesla now globally and Tesla announced that they have laid off the complete staff and closed their San Mateo Office. Tesla laying off 229 Autopilot employees, closing San Mateo office, filing says - ABC7 San Francisco (abc7news.com) I have to question how good their autopilot is when you have 37 deaths contributed to it so far, continued alpha/beta testing on the public and now a major layoff in that specific division. Do not be surprised if he closes more, Tesla Stock hammered, deal for Twitter so he could force his view of truth on everyone is now a lawsuit as he feels he should not have to pay due to his fictional believe of excessive bots, lawsuits of sexual misconduct by him and other management/executives, continual late delivering products (Semi, CyberTruck, Roadster), continued poor fit n finish along with other quality issues in assembly. Tesla is a mess that I would not go near or wish on anyone.1 point

I think Tesla is doing well in the short-term, but long term they are going to significantly level out, possibly even fall. There are only so many Tesla fanbois to sell to. I know my HR Director won't be recommending Tesla to anyone, she just finally got hers back over the weekend, and all she does now is talk about how she's worried it is going to brick again. Rivian has the chance to catch up here not only by accelerating their own production, but also by GM, Ford, and a whole lotta Hyundai/Kia biting into Tesla growth.1 point

PNW has their fair share of gang bang wanna bee's, Ricer Bangers and just about all kinds of gang bang ethnicity peeps driving trashed versions of those cars. Yes, very rare do you find them in nice condition and when you do you can admire them for the niche they played and filled in the auto industry. A shame more are not taken care of, but then we all know how expensive autos these days are.1 point

Friends, please be careful and take precautions. BA.5 is the dominate strain in the U.S. now and vaccination does NOT protect against it. Moderna and Pfizer are working to have an updated booster shot by end of September. Why is BA.5 such a bad variation of Covid-19? BA.5 mutation has taken a much more aggressive attack on the Lungs Alveoli sacks. This is where carbon dioxide and oxygen get exchanged allowing you to breath. BA.5 attacks and paralysis these sacks stopping you from breathing. Plenty of news stories on this, mask up, stay safe, wash hands, avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth. Please stay safe to help ease the continued stress on our health care workers. ‘Headed in a bad direction’: Omicron variant may bring second-largest US Covid wave (msn.com) Is Omicron BA.5 ‘Worst Version’ Of Covid-19 Coronavirus Seen? @trinacriabob @oldshurst442 Awesome pictures, thank you for snapping and sharing. That 442 that I know Olds would love got me thinking about the future of auto's and while Oldsmobile is a dead brand and I just finished watching Demolition Man where you see a supposedly 23rd Century modern electric Olds Dealership and then the Demolition man in a old 442 with Sandra Bullock smashes out the store front had me thinking of a GM modern 442 electric version. So originally the 442 stood for 4 barrel, 4 speed transmission, and dual exhaust. 1965 is when Olds broke GM's internal rule about mid-size auto's having V8's biger than 330 cubic inches in size and the Olds 442 changed to represent 400 cubic inches, 4 speed transmission and dual exhaust. 1968-72 Oldsmobile 442 values are holding steady, for now - Hagerty Media I now wonder if GM could not make a modern 21st century EV as a 442 which would be 4 electric motors, 4 doors and dual roof panels as a modern performance sedan to compete against Tesla Platinum and other performance luxury sedans. Thoughts?1 point

This was seen last week. I had gone in to get something to eat somewhere and, by the time I exited, there was obviously a car show in the parking lot. a b c d The above, IIRC, is (a) a '53 Chevy. You can (b) touch every spark plug of this inline 6 and the air cleaner assembly looks like a tea kettle. You can (c) see all that room in the engine bay. And you can also (d) see that only one belt does everything - water pump, crank, and alternator. So, there are no belts for power steering, air conditioning, and an air pump. a b c I approached this car thinking it was a kit on a Mazda Miata. It was not. The front end (a) looks like one. The rear end (b) looks less like one. The owner explained it all to me and it's a Fiat product. The rear badging (c) indicates it's a Fiat 124 a b c This is a Chevy Bel Air ... possibly a 1957, but I'm not certain. You can see that it's (a) a convertible, that (b) it has the very durable and popular 283 V8, but no power steering, and that (c) it has an automatic, but it's a 2 speed automatic unit a b c d e And here's an (a) @oldshurst442 vehicle from 1972 ... I didn't look at the taillamps, but the owner told me. The fender badging (b) told me this wasn't any ordinary Cutlass. The engine (c) is an Olds Rocket 350, and the layout of the belts and attachments looks like an Olds V8i. The owner almost seemed apologetic that it didn't have a 455! It has a (d) manual transmission and gauges that were added to supplant what were probably just idiot lights on the dash, and the door panels have manual window cranks. Finally, it does not have A/C, per the climate control panel (e) ... so look at the cheesy plastic applique up top and center to mimic as if air conditioning vents had been there! That was the funniest thing about this car. - - - - - I know a small few who like and go to small car shows like this. I only check out a few cars if I stumble in on one and move on quickly. Some people are really nice and want to talk about their cars, and cars in general. Others are basically cliques of D-listers who routinely show up at these get togethers, have known each other for a long time, and throw out some reverse snobbery to anyone who is well spoken and they detect has some polish. I overheard some talk in the restaurant by some attendees that was really off the mark. I like dirty and politically incorrect jokes just fine. However, the talk I overheard was more mean spirited in its tone and not as funny as they thought they were. Since car shows are often popular with people without a lot of Klass, that's probably why I just keep on driving. Anyway, I hope you enjoy (some of) the photos and, especially you, @oldshurst4421 point
