  1. I've had symptoms after all except the first C19 shot. I always get flu-like symptoms from the flu shot. So if I can get it both over with at the same time I'd prefer that.

  2. I got injection #4 Tuesday. I got the upgraded Moderna with the omicron component. I went two Pfizers and two Modernas. Of all the shots, this one had the least negative impact - no usual headache I get after any type of vaccination, but some soreness at the site of the injection. I'm wondering if I had a mild bout with omicron at some point that came and went. However, with all the free test kits now laying around, I made sure I was in good shape (negative) and with a good temp (high 97s) for a good while prior to getting this last jab. I, too, plan to mask up during any air travel. Instead of using N95 grade masks, I may opt for the regular cheap ones. (The newer the aircraft, the better the ACHs in the ventilation system should be.)

  3. Have you gotten the Chicken Pox vaccine? I'm probably going to get my Flu and updated Covid Booster on Tuesday. I have to time it around expecting to be sick the next day.

  4. Honda has given us the first official look at the exterior and interior styling of the All-New Honda Prologue electric SUV that launches in North America in 2024. The Prologue is what Honda is calling a "Neo-Rugged" exterior and interior styling with ample interior space that enables one for adventure inside and outside the city limits. 2024 Honda Prologue Reveal-en-US_h264_aac_1280x720.mp4 As we get into looking at this Honda, keep in mind that Honda signed a joint agreement with GM to use their Ultium Platform for their Honda EV portfolio. As such, it will be interesting to compare and contrast this SUV with SUVs from GM. On top of this, the month of October Honda also has launched a CR-V Hybrid that Honda even says will be a Gateway vehicle to the Prologue. The Honda CR-V Hybrid will be focused in sales on short term leases in ZEV states to allow Honda to Transition hybrid customers to EVs. The Honda Prologue is the First for Honda's EV portfolio and will be on sale in 2024 North America wide. Prologue is to complement the Honda's light truck lineup, positioned alongside the Passport and above the CR-V, offering generous passenger and cargo space over the ICE autos. Masaki Sumimoto, design lead for the Color, Materials and Finish had the following to say: "Our goal was to create a clean harmony based on a rugged SUV image by coordinating the colors and materials to express neo-rugged design styling that’s familiar to our customers and uniquely Honda," To this end, Prologue upon release for sales will be available in an exclusive North Shore Pearl exterior color, inspired by the natural beauty of the Lake Tahoe area. The Prologue also pulled from the Honda e EV auto that was sold outside North America with the flowing front fascia, 21" standard wheels to give the SUV a capable and planted look. The natural beauty of fresh fallen snow on the surrounding mountain tops of the Lake Tahoe area was inspiration for the exclusive use of Charcoal and light grey interior colors. Prologue will keep the great outdoors open feeling by having a panoramic roof and yet showcase a tech-rich cabin with a standard fully digital 11" driver display and a 11.3" audio/connectivity display. Prologue details are as follows: Wheelbase - 121.8" (8 inches longer and 5 inches wider than a 2023 Honda CR-V) Overall length - 192" Width - 78.3" Height - 64.7" Wheel Diameter - 21" AWD available at launch This is the start of what Honda has stated is the "YEAR of the HONDA SUV" All-new models of the HR-V, CR-V and Pilot, play key roles in preparing for volume Honda EV sales that begin in 2024 with the Prologue per Honda's press release. Gary Robinson, vice president, automobile planning and strategy of America Honda stated the following: "We are not going to wait until 2024 to attract EV buyers, because we see a natural progression for a CR-V customer to Prologue with its slightly larger size, larger interior and capable handling," "We will support that transition now by putting smart strategies in place with the CR-V hybrid, that will enable our customers to transition to an EV." Honda made the following statement on their current and future sales plan. Honda’s research shows that hybrid-electric customers are among the first to move into full-electric products. Honda plans to increase the model mix of the 2023 CR-V to 50% hybrid sales and will offer customers of the CR-V hybrid a shorter term, two-year lease in ZEV states when that model comes to market in fall 2022. This will enable a customer in targeted markets to easily transition into a Prologue when the new EV launches in 2024. In this way, the company’s increasing hybrid sales volume will help grow a future EV customer base. More details on the Prologue will be released in the coming months with customers encouraged to sign up for updates at: 2024 Honda Prologue – Fully Electric SUV | Honda Honda Electrification Rollout Toward its global goal to achieve carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities by 2050, Honda will introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030, with a global sales volume of 2 million units. In North America, Honda has laid out an aggressive timeline of EV introductions based on three initial phases leading to 2030 and ultimately to 100% zero-emission automobile sales by 2040: 2024: Begin sales of the Honda Prologue, co-developed with GM 2026: Begin sales of Honda models based on Honda e:Architecture to be produced by Honda in North America. 2027: Begin sales of a new series of affordable EVs co-developed with GM, also produced by Honda in North America. Honda also recently announced an agreement to establish a joint venture to produce lithium-ion batteries in the U.S. to power Honda and Acura EV models for the North American market. 5. I would like to introduce you to the 2019 Acura RDX: the one a lot of people say to stay away from. It took Acura at least a year to correct those issues in time for the 2021 model.

  6. @David The IKEA card is indeed free. I've had one for years. Most average metro areas have only one IKEA. Sometimes, it's at an "end." I recall that, in the Seattle area, it's down south around Kent-Auburn* and one took the Valley Fwy. to get there, so I have only been once or twice. They could easily put one in on the north end and it would do well, if one is not already there. They might have upgraded the benefits. They don't matter much to me. I don't like their merchandise very much and I find the maze inside annoying. Mostly, I've used the card for the free coffee and tea and the food specials. I think that anyone can go to the julesbord events. It's just that the price spread for members and non-members was noticeable. Maybe they've changed the rules and are now requiring IKEA card membership to go to these "buffets." BTW, the IKEA card and its bar code mean squat in Europe. I explained the situation after presenting my card, getting a "thud," and they did tell me to help myself to the tea! * yes, that Kent, about which one friend said, "If Tonya Harding were from the Seattle area, she'd be from Kent." I've told this one before. Classic.

  7. I haven’t been in an IKEA in years. I used to pass one on my commute in Chandler, AZ and would occasionally stop in for the meatballs or lingonberry somethings in their cafe. Liked their food.

  8. You don't really need 800V, most chargers don't go that fast and if you are charing a home, you are talking like 10 kWh charge rates, so then it really doesn't matter. Going 400 vs 800 can save on cost and cooling needs, etc. The big problem with EV's (other than production constraints) is if you look at a generic ICE small crossover they go 0-60 in about 8 seconds, have 300-400 mile range, cost $30-35k. And car companies sell millions of these per year. Then when they get to EV's they think it needs 500 hp and a sub 4-second 0-60 time and costs $70,000. Ford would never in a million years put a 500 hp V8 in an Escape and charge $70,000 for it because they know no one would buy it. But when it comes time for an EV crossover, throw 500 hp in it and change $65,000. I think Mercedes and GM are the only 2 that have it figured out, mirror your ICE line with IV's because then you are marketing to your current customer base and your potential cross shops.

  9. From researching the website for IKEA, it seems this is part of their family events and one has to register to be a part of the family to take advantage of the event. IKEA Family – Join our club for free - IKEA Seems they imply that free certain foods, drinks and events will be available for Family members only and you must join their free family member program to take advantage. IKEA U.S. introduces new IKEA Family benefits - IKEA I could be wrong, but that is the take I get on the IKEA Smorgasboard events.

  10. Well, we're well beyond those days and a reliable vehicle is pretty easy to find. I, too, haven't heard any stories of Bolts bricking, just catching fire. ? I kid, but seriously, I haven't heard of those issues with the Bolts.

  12. If that's the mindset, then they're going to push the movement back some years because it'll piss off regular buyers enough to say "fck electric, it's not worth it". It's Honda, they likely won't allow something to leave their facilities with major issues.

  13. It's a bleeding edge product. Totally new platform with totally new tech. I'm okay with there being a bit of leeway regardless of if it is GM, Mercedes, Nissan, whoever. Anyone who bought one of these knew that they were signing up for a new release product. The people who made the video are in the business of making these videos... and frankly, I will be doing the same thing once my EValanche shows up. And if it breaks down, I'll make a video of it. But I know going into that purchase that the EValanche is new tech and problems could happen. That's why I'm keeping the gasser also.

  16. I honestly have a ton of respect for the Engineering divisions that have built the motors, controllers, battery pack and the leadership Tesla employees have given in moving the auto industry forward. I really hope that the Board wakes up, stops rubber stamping a narcissistic CEO and brings in a professional to build Tesla beyond this crazy startup phase.

  17. Yes, this is a common side affect with the booster and flu this year. Moderna seems to be worse than Pfizer, not sure why when they are both using the same MNRA vaccine technology, but it is. Strange that you are getting it from the Pfizer side, but not uncommon for some. Rest and sleep, it will pass fast.

  18. Awesome, I am very happy with having the latest booster and flu shot too. Flew to Texas last week for meeting, wore mask. About half the plane did, half did not, was surprised much higher rate of people wearing masks at the airport in Texas than I expected. But then it is all about personal comfort and safety. Mayo has a nice easy to use map based on CDC data. U.S. COVID-19 Map: Tracking the Trends (mayoclinic.org) CDC is by county in each state. 20. Ive had chickenpox. My wife too. I dont think about shingles all that much. My wife, however, has it on her mind to inform our family doctor about shingles and a shingles vaccine. All the family has had 3 shots of the Covid vaccine. The wife and kids all have Pfizer but I have the 1st two as Pfizer and the 3rd Moderna. We are waiting for the updated booster to be available. As soon as its available, we all get to be jabbed. We dont do flu shots. None of us get sick during flu season.

  21. Yes both Moderna and Pfizer have updated booster shots that should be out and available after Labor Day. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: FDA Authorizes Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccines for Use as a Booster Dose | FDA Wife and I also got an update on our Shingles, Pneumonia and flu shot with our yearly physical. I have to travel at the end of the month, so looking forward to getting our booster shot next week. All Teens and adults are approved for it.

  22. The FDA has approved the enhanced Moderna booster. Retail pharmacies are expecting to see it come in. I routinely get my flu shot Labor Day weekend and plan to get this Moderna booster at the end of the month, even if I need to travel to a hick town and then eat in some off the beaten path gem that would make it onto 'Diners and Dives,' or whatever that series is called. Also, since I plan to be in the NYC area in the near future, I may go ahead and get that once only adult polio booster mid-month, especially if it's covered and/or not too expensive.

  23. I have been thinking about IKEA's Christmas smorgasbord lately. Damn pandemic had to ruin things. I have a feeling it may return this holiday season. For about $12,99, all I can say is "bring it on."

  24. Feeling seriously icky today…chills, aches and pains, really tired and washed out feeling the day after 2 vaccinations. Heard this is pretty common.
